@@davesurace1281 Thought I recognised the name ! Love your DAG design. The only modification I made to your design for our build was to make a mould to produce a set of rotor blades at SG6042 profile. These are what the model flies with on this video, and spin up super easy.
@@ScaleMeDown you may want to try full cyclic head with a new mast. It’s worth the effort. Being able to push the rotors pitch down after a flight is so nice.

I was just wondering if rc gyrocopters were a thing, cool video. Is the main rotor typically powered or unpowered in a rc setup?
In autogyros, the main rotor is always unpowered (RC gyrocopters are no different). Sometimes some of the bigger autogyro models are fitted with a pre-rotator to get the rotors up to speed before the takeoff run.
Great video, editing and commentary. Thank you for putting the time it takes to make this. (Could have done without any music though - just a annoying distraction.)

What was the fix for the Gyro-One going hard-over on previous flights?
Hi. Basically rotor rpm and thrust line. At this event, we increased the amount of nose weight, and the hang angle. This helped to improve the thrust line issue. Weirdly, my rotors were fitted with small wedges under the trailing edge to reduce their angle of incidence (and you would think to increase rotor rpm). However, these blades have an unusual profile, and removing these wedges, increasing the blade incidence slightly actually sped them up a bit.

Thanks. Yes, they are lovely to fly - not quite big enough for a child to sit on though !
@@ScaleMeDown На небольшой вес ребенка не сложно сделать автожир, можно без мотора, если ветер есть 5-6 м/с , но наверное сегодня самая большая проблема- законы. Если не стремиться за хорошим аэродинамическим качеством и высокими скоростями полета, ротор можно сделать весьма дешевым даже на большой вес 500-1000 кг . Автожир для детей мог бы выглядеть примерно вот так, только без мотора и с ротором побольше.

Sorry you didn't enjoy the video, it is an overview of an autogyro meeting we attended at Winterton Model Flying Club and was not meant to be a 101 in autogyro design. The gentlemen here were very helpful, and collectively checked/tweaked many settings before Rich Elliot kindly provided an experienced pair of hands for a test flight.
