To this day, this theme fills me with a sad sense of nostalgia, I always recall the countless hours I spent crafting items in the dimly lit guilds of the Alchemists and Goldsmiths, all while I dreamed of one day being able to play Heavensward and Stormblood, and getting to a level above 35 for free (I'm what you would call a veteran ;) ). And I still remember the end of the former's story, which was poetic, because it was about letting go, and I pretty much stopped playing the game soon after.
Maybe one day my Miqo'te will be awakened from his slumber and flex his muscles once more while giving the world a reassuring smile.
Godspeed, gentle paladin. Thank you for being my eyes and ears in the last, yet best MMORPG I ever played.

I feel the same way, It hits me in the gut and just makes me want to go back. I played way back during the early Betas all the way till Heavensward but stopped just as Stormblood came out. This song just reminds me of all the times doing quests with my friends and exploring the world. Really incredible game that fully immersed and transported me whenever I played. I hope to return one day...

I feels so long ago now. Talking with friends throughout the night because we didn't sleep. We were running around Ul'dah talking about whatever.
I don't even speak to those people anymore. But this theme is stuck in my head from those times. Those moments were a calm in very messed up time for me.
It's kind of bittersweet, both nostalgic and painful to hear.
I'm baffled this game actually made memories like this for me. Because FFXIV has been here for that long now. It really has. I was super young and dumb when I started, now I'm a young adult and still dumb, but time has progressed so far. Things are so different now. Life is so different.

Started as THM a year ago and the game story and time line took me down a completely different path. I main RDM now and my home aetheryte is Ishgard but this music makes me so nostalgic and feels like a home I grew up in and left to seek my own life. Such gentleness and mysticism to this music. Like a cool breeze during summer nights, it's so comforting. This will always be very special to me...

I recently started this game for the first time (I know I'm very late to the party), and Ul'dah is the first city I get to (Started as a Thaumaturge).
I'd like to say that for all those countless MMORPGs I played before, this is definitely the best in providing immersion to the player through the story. I've been very attentive to it, carefully reading every single sentence and made sure I understood it. Needless to say, I'm dropping a comment here because this is my favorite track so far.
I will forever be a Flame and pledge my allegiance to the Sultana! (I spoiled myself into checking her current state, and boy I'm glad she's doing well).

This song brings me a nostalgia like no other. The initial piano melody chiming in at 0:32 is what hooks every time. I remember all the times I had to visit Uk'Dah, all the times I spent waiting sround waiting for my friends to get on. It takes me back to a simpler time full of potential and aimless adventure. The tone shift at 3:38 feels like a snal back to the present leaving me with a longing feeling - wishing I could have what I lost. Just another night with my friends before our life drifted us apart, before the breakups and and trauams from then to now took place. And then the light hearted warm melody comes back, reminding me that despite all thats happened, even though theres nothing I can do to go back there is still always tomorrow - that I am only human. In the end, maybe theres some hope left after all. Things will always change, they will always hurt, but it can also be joyful and winderful as well.

I used to be a big WoW gamer, and then I moved on to Guild Wars. After that was FFXIV. After a while, I somewhat grew bored, mainly because you could "multi-class" all on the same toon, which took away the need for pairing up with other players (such as if you're a healer, you could easily switch to archer or something). Not that that was a bad thing! It meant you ended up learning how to play each class.
Anyway, I moved on to Guild Wars 2. I'm thinking about going back to FFXIV, just because, so I can ride around on my fat ol' chobocobo.

Guild Wars 2 has kept my attention the most, just because of how "active" I am in combat. Most MMO's, healers or ranged classes stand still, as moving interrupts their casting, while in Guild Wars 2, I'm constantly moving around, dudging, etc.

I'm not sure what to do now.
Context: I quit playing FFXIV right around 2017 due to a severe case of real life. Now I am a father and under no circumstances considering getting back in as there is no time. Maybe in some years, but it won't be the same as when it was all new. The comraderie, the discovery, the immersion in the world. I can only hope Yochi P starts a new project that releases when I have the time again.

I fell in love with this game towards the end of Shadowbringers, and put many, many hours into it getting every class leveled to 50 and then powering through on my main into the 70s and ShB. This music was one of my favorite tracks, and I fell asleep to it many times. Then life threw me a curveball, and I ended up homeless for about 8 months, right through the release of Endwalker. It hurt to watch my friends, who I helped get into the game, surpass me and start Savage raiding in endgame during that time, which I had hoped we would do together, while I missed the expansion whose trailer got me into the game in the first place. Then things settled down, I found a place to live, and I finally booted up the game again into Uldah at night- despite the new expansion and almost a year passing, I was greeted by the game just how I remembered it, with this track I loved so much. I started crying, and no joke while doing so some Miqote dude named "Foul Maidenless" ran up and hugged me out of the blue before running off. I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or cry harder. I'll never forget you, Foul Maidenless, and I wish I could pass on your hug to whoever composed this track.

    Hope. Sadness. Nostalgia.
It's funny how such a beautiful piece of music can evoke these feelings in equal measure.
Even when I heard this for the very first time I felt these emotions. It's masterful.

Thank you for upload this melody :)

This song is damn beautiful. I'm barely past 20 but I remember booting up the game and making it into the town from grinding and the soft piano kicked in. I actually had to stop and mellow and listen. Of all games that made me stop and take in the ambiance of the soundtrack, I was NOT expecting it to be an MMO.

I started playing a little more than a year ago, and chose Thaumaturge as my class. When I entered Ul'dah and heard this song for the first time, something inside me clicked. It was like the song was welcoming me in this incredible world that is Eorzea, and I fell in love instantly. I actually stopped playing and listened to the song for a while.

this music gave me patience and motivation to lead my static group to victory.

Then one day i decided to buy the game and lemme tell you i had soo much fun. But my subscription ended, so i haven't played this game for a year now, but i come back everytime to relive those memories of chasing quests and doing limited time quests

0:31 is something that could be playing when you're holding your love in your arms, just hugging in silence as you feel "I'm home here". Because that's what this city feels like as well.
I originally started with an elezen conjurer in Gridania, but didn't really like the job, and had second thoughts about my race of choice as well so I just rerolled to an au ra gladiator.
Hearing this music just made Ul'dah a more pleasant place to me, and I like the game so much more ever since. 🥲
