awesome episode mike!!! epic traveling with other fulltime families !!!!summer is in full swing town there, everyone looks so happy!!! stay awesome , see yah soon!!!!
cheers mate these were some friends who have now returned to work and school, was nice to catch up with them for a few weeks though. Bring on the 1k, mate your so close.
@leopardsgowild so close , I've been dealing with a ton of shit lately , thankfully I think I'm thru it , got a vlog coming out today explaining stuff.. surf should start again soon🤙❤️✌️
i'm glad your on the other side of cold times //// You live in a freezzer, I still don't know how you get out there in the ice. Love your work mate bring on the viral following you deserve it. @@CHillAdventures
@leopardsgowild 1st world problems really, plus whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger right?!?!? Lol you guys r awesome and give me a lot of inspiration to live for experiences not the rat race ... I have a feeling once I get around 2500 or 3000 subs my channel will take off .guna keep pushing!
Great episode. EEEWWWW Toby we can't believe you swam with the eels haha. The kids had a laugh at the bit with your towel too. That walk looks great Mike. WIll have to attempt it but I don't do well with exposed track combined with heights.... maybe Marcel can take the kids. LOVE the cool huts you made kids.
lol toby is our crazy child swimming with the eels lol... was a very good walk, def doesn't feel steep, unless you have broken limbs, you can totally do this hike very achievable for even the unfit, there were people 60+ up there just cruising going slow, but getting it done and enjoying those views. an easy over night hike 2 hours to the hut with packs 1.5hours down with packs. I reckon I could run this track in less than 2 hours.
We were up there a few days after we visited you in Mot. We camped in the same spot and the kids loved the hut. Some of it had been broken but it was very impresive. Cameron wants to tell Toby the ells do bite! One got him on the finger. Rebecca says 'Hi' to Jade.
lol thats awesome sounds like we were on similar paths... I think Toby got a knick on his foot, but no major bites he wasn't putting his fingers near mouths, but it did make me laugh seeing him there in the middle of the eels.
oh Kia Ora we are also a family from Rotorua, you might see our kids running around in their old Rotokawa school hoodies. We got some awesome family adventures in beautiful places alright.
Kerr Bay is the best .Camped there every Christmas from the age of 4 to 17 the Boat race's at Christmas where a sight to see the whole place was packed. Used to do barn dance's down at the shelter shed, was up there two weeks ago with my family now 53 had my first swim since i was 17 still bloody cold.
Kerr bay is def locked in for a winter trip, especially cause there is great internet, powered sites, hot showers and a dump station and we can use it on our DOC pass, I reckon the lake was up there with north island lake temps, pretty nice kids were in there for hours. This place has loads of history aye, with the skiing and boating, beautiful area.
oh thanks for that. I do choose the music I like lol... I def did not write it. I use a paid subscription called Musicbed which anyone can go to. Love some good drive music especially with the summer vibes
How long do you spend editing videos? Do you usually have a plan how the video will go/be or do you just go through footage and make it from there? Always so impressed with how much you put into your videos for us 🥰 super duper appreciate it!
oh thanks for the comment, I enjoy the whole process I always say I make videos I want to watch, i love the scenery, some info, some experience, generally a video take around 8 - 12 hours to edit thats not including filming time which I also really enjoy and often film to much lol.
cheers mate, we all have a lot of fun out there in the great outdoors. Music is all kinds of artists off a subscription I use on Musicbed. anyone can access the site and songs. I tend to not put the songs in the description, because I hate admin work lol... Just another thing I have to do, but easy to search up songs you like, by typing a few lyrics Cheers
You're certainly finding some great spots to explore. What a great experience for your kids. They're obviously in tune with nature. There's not too many kids who would swim with the eels. Love your posts. Thanks
cheers mate, I had no Idea Toby was in there with the eels I thought he was just watching them, next minute hes in the middle of them which made me laugh at his bravery. I'm glad he feels safe with Nature.
Another great spot and mostly awesome weather. Was great to see you briefly up there. Toby was awesome with those big Eels, so relaxed around them. The hut building would have kept the kids well entertained for a while, it's all glacial moraine out there so pretty scrubby bush cover with little soil. Makes for a deep lake and steep hills.
Toby made me laugh in there with the eels, I thought he was enjoying them from a distance, he got comfortable real quick. Was awesome seeing you to Garth thanks for making the effort to come say hey.
What a hike to get those amazing views the kids have done well, and I think Toby was very brave to get in with eels, I think I'd rather just look at them.
Toby is hilarious he's such a goer, I thought he was just looking and then next thing he's bloody swooping them up. I to am quite happy just looking. The views up mt Robert were amazing what a great hike.
Thanks so much for showing us some options in the area; I'll defo do that walk next time I'm down south. So true that you don't need meat for really tasty meals, and Mexican suits it especially well. So what about those eels then? I'm a Brit and the only knowledge I have is stories from my Dad about conger eels when he was a kid; if you're not careful, they'd bite your finger off! So do they have teeth over here, or are they friendly and you can stroke them, or should you just leave them alone? This past 18 months you've really given your kids such an amazing, wholesome, and rare gift of freedom, gorgeous countryside, and removal from all the rubbish that modern life can fill our heads with; they seem like such great young humans, so good on you both for taking a risk and following your hearts!
it's a cool area, this spot is def popular for the eels. Eels are generally very tame, and can be stroked. they can bite, I've never heard of anyone having an injury in all my years, these aren't dangerous creatures, otherwise the signs would tell... Kids are champs and embrace these adventures which is awesome.
Such a good area for walks it looks, you are so brave around the eels Toby. Great job with the hut making, our lot would have loved to be involved in that.
Toby was making me crack up with him right there in the thick of the eels. Kids did awesome with their hut, there were some arguments and politics though...
oh that question is way to hard for me, it's an insect that lives in the moss, eats stuff, creates sugar content... Kids did awesome with their hut, not sure how water proof it would be. lol.
I'm trying to avoid any admin work lol, sorry, I also don't add the music I use just because it's gonna take me 15 minutes to relocate it and add it into the settings,. if your interested in the site it's an easy google or search on the camping apps.

LoL - does the Doc Info Centre say what part of the scale insect the honeydew is produced from? Great survival hut building skills by the kids.
oh that question is way to hard for me, it's an insect that lives in the moss, eats stuff, creates sugar content... Kids did awesome with their hut, not sure how water proof it would be. lol.
Yaya. We were first view. Hahahhahahah
whoop whoop, thats what I'm talking about.
Pretty hard to beat Soph, I always tell her, "I'm about to make it live"
and she usually gets in first lol...
Hey the Leopards and Bridsons, I have a question do you guys have an email, I have some information to share but it’s kind of private but good👍
Hey Teresa you can email us at Leopardsgowild.com
