John, I discovered your channel not long ago, and I'm catching up on your interviews. This one was wonderful and a delight to watch, as are your other interviews. There's a reason your guests readily agree to be interviewed by you, and why they quickly relax in your presence. You're a wonderful listener, respond with genuine interest, you steer clear of tacky gossipy questions, and it's easy to see that you have a knack for making your guests feel appreciated and their great work acknowledged. A pleasure to listen to and to watch. Thanks.
John, such a great interview with Linda. I appreciate her willingness to share so much. I have seen many of the shows she was on but really don't remember her on The Waltons.
I know I say this all the time, but what an incredible interview! Karl said who didn't she know?? lol. Loved her stories, she seems so down to earth. Thank you again for a great show John. You rock! :)
Great interview - I had a great big crush on Linda Purl in my teen years. I worked in the studios during those years and loved how much activity was going on in them.
I loved Like Normal People. My friend and I adored Roger and Virginia and he and I are almost 60 now and still refer to each other as Roger and Virginia. What a special movie.
Loved this interview with Linda! Interesting to hear of her training and friendships along the way so far. I’ve lived in St. Paul almost 50 years and have never heard of Crooners Supper Club! My husband and I checked it out on my birthday, at Linda’s recommendation. Loved it! I asked Crooners if Linda will be back and they told me they invited her and she accepted. Hope to go there again when she’s back in town! She has a such lovely personality! Great interview!

I’ve heard of Crooner’s through their advertisements on a certain radio station in the Twin Cities (AM 950) to which I listen online. I hope to check it out one of these days as I’ve always enjoyed Big Band music and standards.
Great interview. I had no idea she did so much. I give her credit for taking the high road with the Andy Griffith talk. We all love Andy but his demons have been well documented
Speaking of Andy Griffith, I once saw Ron Howard being interviewed on TV and he said he once heard someone tell Andy what a great job he did playing the lead in "A Face In The Crowd" ( a great & overlooked film) and Andy replied that doing dramatic roles was too much work. But he was a terrific actor.
@@Bill-jc1fy Thanks for sharing Bill. Andy should have been nominated for an Academy Award but the film was so ahead of its time. The irony is that it is more relevant now than ever.
Great interview. Loved listening to Linda's stories. She's a sweetheart too, only had good things to say about people.. Who stays friends with their ex husband?? lol. Yet she makes it work! It was evident that there were issues with Andy Griffith, yet she tried hard to be positive. Will have to check out her albums too as well as Duffy Dough! Ha! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much. Linda has truly had an actor’s journey, just amazing😀Pretty interesting about her relationship with Desi Arnaz Jr. Andy Griffith was definitely more complicated as a person for sure. Duffy’s dough is 👍
What a great interview! I thought it was really interesting and the questions were great. I remember that movie with Shaun Cassidy. I barely remember it but there was a scene where Roger lost it and I thought it was an amazing scene and Linda's character had to calm him down and they worked through it together. Both were amazing. Thank you for your great work. PS. Would you consider flipping the circumstances and allow someone to interview you about your career? Just a thought.
Thanks Sue! I loved talking with Linda. If Shaun Cassidy hadn’t been a bubble gum idol I think he would gotten even more notice for his performance. As far as interviewing me, maybe, would have to think about it.
Yes and I still watch Matlock on reruns. She is married to Patrick Duffy to and she is same age as me. Fun interview. Btw you crack me up with your laff🤣@@ThatsClassicTV
I like Linda in everything I have seen with her. She seemed kind of standoff-ish when the subject turned to Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Once could assume there was some bad blood there. I, for one, adore those two!!!!

Great actress and she and Patrick definitely feel very in love❤️

I'm 33 minutes into this and I'm just DYING to hear her talk about "The Office". I loved that she was Pam's mom...who was hit-on by Michael.😆😆😆
Hope you enjoy it, she talks a bit more about Steve Carrell and the cast as a whole.😀
What a lovely woman!! Wonderful conversation! 😊

What an interesting person and journey of her life. I have known who Linda Purl was for years but nothing much about her. Great conversation.
I would agree I don’t think most people would know what an extraordinary acting background that Linda had.
Linda Purl's career - I've followed her since the 70's - love her acting but didn't know she sang! Will check that out!
Linda is actually quite the singer!
