  • Today we look at the very interesting 1:1 scale Panzer III/IV track from Tori Factory. I compare it to an original link of a similar design.
    Thanks to my Patron of the month Phillipp Krüger.

    Thank you Adam!! Your review really helped me a lot.
    And I know that there are many opinions about incorrect size and shape.
    My company in Korea and I can't find any real tracks here.
    This kind of product can't be delivered even if I buy it on Ebay because it doesn't clear customs.
    I planned to go to the United States or other countries to measure the real track, but COVID made it impossible.
    I made it using all the materials like photos, drawings, blueprints, 1/35, 1/16 Kits, that I can find here.
    I hope you guys understand.
    Adam is helping me and I am making a much more accurate size and shape TIGER Track with it. Please look forward to it.
    Thank you!

      I hope I wasn't too critical in the review, but it's the way my audience expects me to be as I've always been that way. I do think the kit is fantastic, and such a cool project. I hope that comes through in the review. Really excited about the Tiger track.

      I follow another channel and his review of your track was much different. Adam nailed it, "but it's the way my audience expects me to be". This is why I follow several channels. Had Adam praised this kit, similar to the last review I watched and I purchased your kit then learned of the mistakes, I would pass on future reviews by Adam, as I expect him to give me the "real deal".

      There is a set of the tracks at the US Army armor museum in seoul. A simple trip to the museum would have helped you. They will let you handle one, measure it, photo it etc.

  • @Panzermeister36

    Yes you gave me the bug :) I find 1/1 stuff to be cool for the same reasons...and stuff with original camouflage paint is also interesting.
    It's a new idea for a kit for sure. I think it's cool but personally I'd stick with an original for roughly the same price. But I think to some people, one of these would be a fun project to texture and weather up. They also have announced some other tracks which appeal more to me...the Abrams one is cool because of the complexity.

  • @hawrermctez

    Pure Genius.
    You want reasons? I'd want a run of four or five hanging on the wall.
    Try that with the real thing?
    I'd need a new wall... and hope it didn't fall down with someone under it!
    Anyway- I'm holding out for the Tiger...

      I'm involved with their Tiger link, so it will be accurate. As for wanting to display 5, I get that as I have 5 originals pinned in my office. It weighs over 100 lbs. It's crazy heavy. So yes that makes perfect sense.

    The manufacturer didn't want you to review this because they knew it would all end in tears. I would buy one of these link kits if it was inexpensive, but I would not pay a lot of money for something that is not an accurate reproduction. If this was dead on accurate then the cost wouldn't be much of an issue for me.

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  3 года назад +3

      Since I have helped them with measurements for their Tiger link I was hesitant to go too hard on them in the review. But that's just who I am, I have to speak the truth. But as you said, price is the big thing.

      Agreed. I would love a T54-E1, T66, T80 and T84. But price is a concern there. Original Sherman tracks are less common where I hunt.

  • @PhuVet

    The thing is....why didn't they have one of the most readily available products of the war? Museums have loads, ebay even has them and a company who makes a replica as their only product doesn't even bother.

    I understand doing the seam lines or rough spots with putty but would you rather do the whole track using some kind of sprayed on texture product? Seems like you could go through a few tubes of glue and texture working this thing to a relic level. Cool concept if it was scanned from a real track and less expensive than a real track. But it is cool to see the 1/1 scale stuff. I'd love to get my hands on a real one one day but not in the budget for the foreseeable future.

  • @zakufarm
    @zakufarm 3 года назад +1

    I'd love to get my hands on one of these, as I remember seeing someone using a Panzer III track to display a model. The price point is kinda steep for me though, since I'm the kind of guy where I need to have multiple links to put together

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  3 года назад +2

      Agreed, I wonder if that's really the retail price they suggest. My favorite thing to do with my originals is pinning them together and working them. It sounds like a real Panzer.

    • @BrailleScale
      @BrailleScale 3 года назад

      I know the real ones can be found on eBay and other places online. I'm sure Adam could probably give you the quick in's and out's of what to look for or who to avoid? Seems like for the cost and the obvious accuracy- the real links are hands down the way to go.

  • @AFV85
    @AFV85 3 года назад

    Looks different straight off actually seeing them both together the ground hasn't half flattened the middle pin casing on the real one but looks like it's ment to be like that the actual tewl track looks thicker casting to that plastic one too

  • @TheHateSpeechChannel

    One of the biggest FAILS I've ever seen. Why would you not get a real one for reference? For little more you can buy a real one like you said. They must have used pictures from a Nokia 3310. Total waste of money.

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  3 года назад +8

      My first thought was why not just buy one and 3d scan it. If I was going to do this as a product that's how I'd do it. The cost for that would likely be less than paying a designer to figure it out.

      No need for mr surfacer tbh... hammerite "hammered finish" paint would be perfect. Brush on looks way more awesome than spray can after it has cured, but you need to work wet and fast. Matt acrylic topcoat, maybe some Uschi metal powder for wear effects.... and " it's a Bingo"!

      @@hawrermctez yeah nah not my kinda paint! Used it before don't like it yeah good on steel but wouldn't use it on plastic! Bit clay round base of guide horns stippled to create a cast effect and maybe a thin wet layer over some parts I'd have to see it in person first to see what I would use it's to smooth just to paint up out the box and that horn needs some work cheaper to buy a real one but done think the shelf would like the weight much lol

    Very Interessting. You asked, so not holding back ; ) I like the idea. I don't like how they did thier research.... I'd buy one, even it is costing more than a real one and I would choose a plastic one over a original every day. I'm just not into relics... Thanks for the nice video !. As I have commented before on your track link video, I am a track link lover like you !. I think this is the replica of track link
    type SK-23 of Model kasten. This type is not seen on the book Panzerketten but it realy exist. The factory code on this track should have been "bdh" or "bal".
    I don't think there is "bdl" for actual track link factory.

      I found an image of a type 6 with close to these markings, it's actually the little image that pops up in the video. It was made by bal, so I think you are correct, but Can you find an image of an existing version of this track you think it is? Or a wartime image? The only other type I've seen with various versions of this shape is Winterketten, but again it usually has cleats.
