No, I think starting a club solely for the sake of a college application might even hurt your chances, as admissions officers can often spot insincerity. Instead, focus on joining or creating a club that genuinely excites you, whether it’s to deepen your knowledge in a subject you love or simply to connect with others and have fun. By pursuing something meaningful, you’ll not only enjoy your time more but also develop authentic and compelling stories to share in your application essays. At the end of the day, it is all about passion and what you like to do--not what you think an admission officer would like to see on a "strong" application.
