These guys are the real deal. No flexing bullshit. I stopped watching channels who talk less about watches and more about what fancy car they just bought.
I had an alligator strap custom ordered from Cartier a few years ago, while expensive, I don’t think it was $500-700 expensive. I’m sure you can go up to that price since they have a ton of options.
unless someone is selling a watch, i never understood buying the OEM gator strap. you can buy good new real gator straps for as low as $15 on the secondary market. you're going to wear it and throw it away some day. might as well buy cheap and buy many different colors.
I enjoyed the dialogue between 2 experienced watch dealers talking the details on each watch! Hope to see more joint collabs throughout 2024. P.S. First time seeing Federico talking more then 8 minutes in a video!
OK, is no one going to mention the (gray) elephant in the room?!?!?!?! Why is that unholy Hodinkee Travel Clock doing front and center in both of your videos. A copy of the Le Coultre travel clock that normally costs $80, recreated by Hodinkee for a mere $5,900. A clock that inspired so much hate that Hodinkee had to remove it from their website for awhile.
So, what was the reason for displaying it? It is in both videos at different spots in the room. So, it was clearly intentional decision. @@mentawatches
8:16 Funny, but Fed’s take here is the common opinion in the watch collector circles from my experience. The moniker “The Wart” comes to mind, though I admit I always get confused if that refers to the Aquanaut or the Nautilus…
Excuse me, is that an Airstream trunk? What the hell is that and where can I get one? PS you should be able to tell the rhodium vs the solid white (grey) gold by the color. Rhodium is extremely white, grey gold has a yellow tinge to it. If you have either that you know for sure to compare against then you should be good to verify it.
Don't worry about getting an alligator strap from Cartier. Plenty of alligators can be found in Florida around golf courses that will make a donation to the Del Ray strap making company...
Adam, this just reinforces the fact that you are absolutely the preeminent vintage watch expert. Great episode 😊 The watches were fantastic! Especially the vintage Rolex you have on your wrist and the MB&F LM101😊
I have seen Adam on other channels and was always impressed with his knowledge. Now I know his name and channel. Subscribed to his channel in a second. Love vintage watches.
Super interesting vid ya boi, Fed the man! Freaked me out when you popped that bezel too. 😮 😂 Beautiful GMT and Sub. Also, that Aquanaut is pretty amazing. I’ve never a big fan of the Aquanaut but those older ones with the tritium look damn special (plus, nobody ever got me one for H.S. Graduation 😆).
Very nice conversation. My "collection" (emotion) is 1960s sports pieces from the Golden Age, but I also have modern ones but these are not "collection" for me, because there is way less emotion, modern ones are more functional). So them exchanging on vintage and modern is very interesting.
So cool to relax with guys who truly love watches and aren't out to make a quick buck like all those other dealers I still subscribe to. Subscribing to those "other" dealers may change soon in this early 2024...!🤔 P.S. Love your coffee table "trunk".....so airstream....!!!!
Adam, question about buying a vintage watch with its original papers and adding the box later. Specifically if the watch and papers are dated from 10 or more years ago, and you buy a box made today, does the box add any real value since the age doesn't match?
You guys should make this a regular feature. Watch chat was so interesting.
Agreed!
We’re ahead of you!
Adam and Federico - two of the best - no flexing, no BS and just watch talk
🙏
These guys are the real deal. No flexing bullshit. I stopped watching channels who talk less about watches and more about what fancy car they just bought.
agreed, and they would talk about the same rolexes all the time
Two of my favorite watch guys. Great episode
Again: Really fun to watch - these different but same dynamics between you two. And nice watches too, of course! Thanks, Adam.
Our pleasure!
Came over from Federico's channel for the Part II. This was great!
PP rhodium plating cut off was not 2006. There are 2009 production models that were still rhodium plated.
Thank you!
This was a cool episode to watch. Thank you. Fan of Fed's channel too.
Fredricos’ client is getting fleeced. Just go direct to
Menta Watches next time . Skip the middleman.
Cool to see Fed on this channel. Love that Pepsi.
Glad you enjoy it!

I have a lecoultre travel clock on ebay right now. Seems like a huge bargain for the travel clock enthusiast 😂
Yes but…bet you’ve never seen another! Took us awhile to find it :)

New sub here from Fed. Really enjoyed the discussion and fun!
Great show as always. Adam - can I ask what your jacket is? Always strong jacket game 👊🏼😃

1990s to 2005 or is NEO-vintage not vintage.
I thought platinum Cartiers had a ruby on the crown, or is that just certain ones???
congrats on 10k subs!
Thank you!!

Frederico introduced me to this channel and I love the vibe. Subscribed
One of the best watch discussions I have seen on RUclips. Please make it a habit.
I think you were too strong on the Nautilus but right on the spot on the others, great video! 😊
Great tube! Love Federicos channel. Liked your channel now. Will watch more. Cool information. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words Todd!
Love your channel - keep up the great content 😊
Federico to Federico: you're the man
Thank you Fed, I simply cannot understand the allure of the Aquanaut, bloody ugly things!

Always best to find a period correct box, generally not a crazy expensive endeavor!
