Noob bjj guy here, so I had to watch this at 0.5x speed to figure out any if what's happening. Some things I saw repeatedly (I think) are: - sprawl/snapdown really hard to pull them way far forward and spin to take the back... kindof judo-y in a way. Use their momentum against them. - duck under/arm drag/underhook them as they charge forward and use it cut an angle. From there bear hug -> run them down, do some weird single while running them down, or back take -> mat return. - defend the shot -> ??? -> they pop up during the ensuing scramble -> ??? -> you have a superior position and you shoot for a single/double/ankle pick... our just tackle them?
Hey first-year wrestler over here I was wondering who the best guys to watch when it comes to my biggest problems are finishing my shots, setups, and bottom game because at a recent tournament, I was in I went 0-2 because of not doing correctly doing these things and the other just sprawled the whole time and I was the one shooting. Btw love the content!
That's totally normal so try not to get too discouraged. Things that can help: work on handfighting skills & setups to help off-balance / force your opponent out of a strong position before you attack; make sure your shot mechanics are sound (you want efficiency of movement & to maintain relatively strong positioning throughout); practice transitioning immediately from the shot to the finish (i.e. eliminate lag / pauses after you get to the leg(s). Developing an effective shot is challenging and takes lots of work and practice. Don't forget to practice your counter offense as well - as shown in this video - since your opponent's failed shot is a highly effective setup for your own shot. Good luck!
Great work sifting through tons of footage and compiling these! Love your vids, man
Thanks!

Watch some Aaron brooks great at finishing shots 👌
Bad at setups and at finishing sounds like being bad at shots in general.
Been I incorporating shots into my game and I’m getting sprawled on every time. Hate it

Try to work on shot recovery too. If you do get completely stuffed and can’t get to the leg then try and arm/elbow drag out.
Awesome. Awesome video.
Wow nice!!
Is headgear mandatory?
In college, yes.
I like counter offense and not calling these reshots.
So beautiful
