- Is this what the top of the detailing mountain looks like? When Jay Leno himself is dropping wax on your own personal R32 GTR? Larry Chen has been putting in some real work with the garage, whether it's on car features or just hanging out with Jay himself, and this is just one of the perks of all that labor. Nice work, Larry.

Hey everyone, Larry Chen here. Thanks for watching Autofocus. We are coming up on our 200th video soon. If you want to support us check out my Etsy store: www.etsy.com/shop/LarryChenPhoto
Hi Larry, I want to see the art work, please.
ask Jay what is his most reliable vehicle in his fleet and why??
@Ned Balnaves Dude, i was going to ask that too!! but already asked a question.
"probably the most famous car photographer" coming from J Leno!
Senpai noticed me 😂🤣
I thought Alex Penfold was tbh
@@Yvckk never heard of her.
I’d like to see more of the D-List cars in his garage. Stuff that hasn’t been on his channel but has a good story behind it.
Hip hip
I back that
That would be cool!
I really enjoyed the candid conversation with you and Jay just putting air in the Carrera GT. Talking about getting new tires and actually driving your vehicle.
He's just a normal car guy like us.
thats pretty cool of him
A lot of car buyers don't understand. It's not about miles, it is about who the previous owners were.
What I think is cool about Jay Leno is that he’s worth $400 million (as of 2018, I looked it up), but he’s still down to earth, and checks his own tire pressure. How many people reading this comment actually check their tire pressure?
Wouldn't trust it any other way!
Who watches RUclips as much as us and hires someone that checks their tire pressure
I dont check my tire pressure and im worth about 5 bucks.
@@kingjay22411 looks like you're worth about $100 more than me
I check my tire pressure. Why have someone else do such an easy task?
“Race car driving is like sex all men think they’re good at it”... I’ve heard jay Leno say that joke about 100 times and I’m not even joking
It's true.
Never gets old tho, and it's way too accurate not to be repeated.
Steve-o said "its better to be a joke factory than a joke warehouse". Leno is a warehouse.
Said it on Top Gear lol
Josh Rinlee lol and on the jay Leno’s garage episode with Joey logano
I'd love to see a feature of the artwork/other memorabilia around the garage. We almost never get to see that. As far as questions for Jay, What cars that he doesn't have would he like to get? What's his biggest car regret, either car he wished he never sold or worst car he ever bought?
All good questions except "what cars he doesn't have".lol he's gotta have every car worth having in his collection. On the real tho, I'd love to see the memorabilia and car related collectables he has.
@@brandondeel3567 theres a couple he wants but can't buy. Like the 1959 (or 1957?) C2 corvette concept car, he said I wish it was if I break it I have to buy it, but they won't let anyone buy it
@@trashbandit2449 that's amazing imo. The fact that he can ask for those type of cars and can't get them but he has some of the rarest autos in existence. I aspire to be the car guy that he is...
@@brandondeel3567 I aspire to be a millionth of the car guy that he is. This is insanity, if I went there I would either be speechless or just keep repeating "wow.."
@@trashbandit2449 "wow" would be the most of my vocabulary too! I'd be star struck, not by Leno, but by the cars he has! Not just the cars I'm sure cuz his garage is like, wtf?! I can't even imagine...
Larry you are our inspiration for phgotography, you have a vision like none other.
Thank you for documenting the scene for future generations to see you're the best!
I'm always down for more motorcycle content, whether it's Jay's bikes, or Autofocus episodes based around custom builders, or general bike stuff with Zach. Bring me that same quality content but with two wheels as well as four and I'll be very happy.
Jay Leno is the best car collecter imo, he actually showcases and drives his collection. He isn't afraid to share these pieces of engineeering art and history with the world, someone you would hope to own cars like this, a real genuine car guy that cares about them for what they are and what they're supposed to be. I can only hope that when his time does come, the collection doesn't just get sold off or mothballed, never to see the light of day again, because there is only and will ever only be one Jay Leno, will be a very sad day when he leaves us. Not just for his collection, but for the genuine and real car guy he is, he's a one of a kind and an all round swell guy haha.
More 1 on 1 with jay leno. These are amazing. Like just me and him in there awesome
Jay has to be one of the first people to get a Gordon Murray T.50 once they are produced
I hope he was the one buyer that was disappointed the fan wouldn’t throw out debris.
I'm GENUINELY curious what Jay's view is on JDM car culture.
Also can we get some other people featured such as Jay's mechanics, in house restorers, does he let other classes and students use his facilities?
Does he ever feel guilty for not being able to drive every vehicle or show every car equal attention?
He drove a steam car down the street, I like to think he does his best.
@@bigchief939 he has almost 200 vehicles and he's a busy man. I doubt he drives them all
@@RandomlnternetGuy He actually does drive them all. He's been driving a different car each day for decades now.
I mean, he must like it a decent bit, given that he's reviewed a Hakouska GT-R, a 2000GT, two 510's, a Century, a G-nose 240Z, an N/A RB26 240Z, an AZ-1, an RX-3, a Supra, an SR20DET Sunny 1200 UTE and a Honda S600. He might not say a huge amount about what exactly his 'view' is about Japanese cars, but given the mix of stock cars he's driven, and the amount of modified cars he's also had on his channel, it's safe to say I think, that he likes Japanese cars.
He loves JDM cars but I can almost guarantee you he thinks the counter culture tuning is stupid and guady. stance, VIP, bosozuko, and RWB, etc.....
Seeing Jay wax Larry's hood reminds me of Bif at the end of Back to the Future.
"Now Bif! Don't con me!"
haha, this is amazing.
This is really cool. I hope his privacy and place are respected. This man is a hero to car guys everywhere.
This is probably one of my most favorite episode. Just the feel of going into a private garage and having access to any car to look at is like a kid in a candy store. The fact your hanging out with Jay and chatting up on a 1 on 1 level makes it that much more special. Thanks for sharing this Larry its definitely a treat.
I've always been a fan of Jay Leno, and it's so good to see him doing well these days. He definitely seems like the kind of car guy everyone wants to know. Way to go Larry!
is it me or Larry is making his way on becoming a legend?
Greetings from Colorado! Thank you so much, Larry. What a tremendous concept you guys have got going on. For me, it seems like you've been given access because you personally stand for all the humility that is the very flame of Jay's reason for being. His raison d'être. As he told you today, and so often repeats so very eloquently, the most important aspect of his privileges is sharing his collection with the world. So promoting his incredible and unique art, as well as the motorcycles would be an act of generosity for the future of all Gearheads...The fact that each of the major pieces of art on the wall are unique re-creations of the equally priceless originals. And until today, I had realized that Jay has as many motorcycles as cars. Also, it was wonderful to meet some of the detail people. I've known that Jay has a lot of employees, but we rarely see any of them except for the major restirators. So.. Thank you, Larry and friends. Thank you, Jay and friends.
DUD, Larry this video is AWESOME! I really enjoyed seeing Jay Leno working and maintaining some of his cars. I watch all of his RUclips videos but its cool to just seeing him working on his cars just like you or me do on the weekends and any extra time we have to get some work done.
That Volvo 965 at 18:02 looked really good!
The art works and the atmosphere is just mesmerizing
When the boss walks up at the end 😂😂
Perfect reaction to seeing your boss to. "Alright well were gunna finish up and clean up" lol
@@thomasgreen1557 😁😁
Thanks for giving us behind the scenes looks. Looking forward to more of Jay's Museum.
so cool just hanging out with jay!!🤘😎👍🏁
Thanks Jay for taking the next logical step to continue showcasing your car and motorcycle collection to a broader and hopefully younger audience. You couldn't have picked a better car guy and photographer to curate than Larry Chen. The plan is to entice and excite a younger generation of hopeful enthusiasts. With your partnership, the content will certainly be interesting and go a long way in doing so. Bravo!
You made my day.
Loved this episode. Just the candid chatting with Jay.
Jay Leno is like the godfather of the car culture. He always has such a great attitude. Humble despite the amount of money he has. He's the type that will see your car and have a chat with you for a few hours.
I used to live down the street from Tony Packo's in East Toledo Ohio and I was driving my mothers 69 buick skylark gs 350 and was stopped at the light next to the exit of Packos at the time he was walking out and he came over and asked if I would park and tell him about the car which I thought was really cool so I did and gave him the story on it like the fact that it was her first car and that she had 14 sisters and that she taught all of them to drive in it and that at that point in time the car had like 480k miles on it he was blown away by that because it still looked pretty good and couldn't believe that it stayed in the family it's whole life I thought that was pretty cool love you Jay stay cool 😀
Loved seeing an even more personal side of Jay. Thanks for sharing this!
Also love hearing his car care knowledge in a way that you don’t get to hear on his regular garage show.
Great job on your back stage view of the garage. Need more of this kind of content. Love to see the day in the life of Jays garage.
Big fan of Jay Leno, and his garage. 😊 Thanks for sharing.
Damn dude to have that kind of access to Jay's collection. Amazing!! I personally want to see his Astons. Maybe in chronological order. That would also be cool for all the cars that he has multiples of from year to year. And of course his bikes. Jay has amazing motorcycles. I agree with you also about all the automotive art and literature that he has. This was an awesome episode. Love your channel Larry.
Jay Leno really cant help but drop little tips and tid bits to help the average car owner even when talking about tires on a Carrera GT and seriously god bless him for it.
I love the R32, not often a sight to be seen in that glorious red finish.
6:18 for mild heart attack
Bro! As soon as he started turning the steering wheel, I freaked out.
What a collaboration. Two of my favourite shows. Great episode.
I’m with u Larry, I love all the restoration blogs and in that I would love to see like the back door stuff the stuff that doesn’t get the light of the shows and just see what else he has.
One of my favorite things about your garage tour episodes is how comfortable folks are with being candid and talking freely with you about the vehicles’ stories and their opinions on car culture and mechanics. It reminds me a bit of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee in the sense that you see a more natural/less polished side of the interviewee. I especially appreciate it during quarantine life since i’m not having many of those conversations with people myself these days so keep it up! As far as what I’d like to see from Jay’s Garage, I love the intricate maintenance knowledge he has about specific kinds of cars and it would be interesting just to hear more of that and even see some of the specific tools his shop houses for working on such unique vehicles. The motorcycle collection would be great to dive into more as well since his channel has done a lot of four wheel content lately.
I usually just tell people to have a casual convo about cars with me. Everyone loves talking about their own cars!
Most important person in the auto industry keeping people interested and sharing his knowledge
To see Jay , explain something is like having the best grandpa around !
Amazing video, thanks for your hard work!
Thanks Larry; this is next level.
Larry, this is amazing and unique. Incredible. I never request anything but you said to let you know, I say you guys feature something completely different- Jay's old Bugatti's? Type 35, 37? I forgot which he has. Feature those pre war Gran prix cars. Nice job!
Those pictures invoke goosebumbs on me. Glorious. Aside of that, superb episode!
Awesome content, thanks. I would love a feature on 'French air cooled twins', the Panhards and the 2CV etc. Thank you so much for sharing your photographic talents and your passion for cars - and a massive thanks to Jay for letting you in :-).
Mad respect for Jay. And all his collections. One day would love to visit this place
I dont ANYONE would mind more Leno F1 videos..... they NEVER get old. and honestly we havent had too much of it, a couple videos, each different... i was hoping the F1 matianace was more comprehensive.
Jay Leno is my hero. Having you two in a video is just great.
I can’t decide what part of jays garage id like to see more of. So just document everything. Need to hang with Jay a lot more. He’s the man
Love you Jay - thanks guys
This is so good I smiled when I saw jay
I love seeing his one offs and his non supercars and their stories. I also hate that RUclips puts commercials in the AutoFocus awesome tag video!!!!!!!!!!!
Jay has to be a wealth of knowledge! Not to mention the people he surrounds himself with... Man. Cant even imagine.
Larry it would be sweet to see a series on beater cars in Jay’s collection. (At least cars that have commonly ended up as beaters/non-Supers).
Ditto, and why he picked them.
Love this; i’m just going to check my pressures
Thanks for doing these great videos Larry. Please consider finding out the stories of "why" he bought each car you decide to feature, "what" was going on currently on during his personal/work life then, and "when/where" was his life at during that period of time.
Literally ALL of it! I want to see All of it! Pick a corner you can not go wrong lol . Personally I kinda like all the older
Larry chen you should make a video just with the ending music and the chutter noise and all pictures u have taken. Id lisento it all weekend. I never get tired of that ending. ✌🏼(love all the vids u make also.
I swear I would never get bored having a conversation with Jay. Every time I watch a video of him I learn something.
Conversation? Everytime Larry tries to talk he just interups and talks more about himself.
Leno is a national treasure.. his collection is... its beautiful that it exists.
Jay is an awesome guy, he definitely hasn't let the fame and fortune get to his head.
What an amazing opportunity you have. Share the stuff we don’t know about, like that green French utility truck.
The orange into the paint really popped out nice man , damn total transformation.
What a rare sight and a treat to see a red r32
Seeing more artwork would be sick!
Jay is so awesome.
The two of you together nice.
Crate Blanche’ at Jay’s Garage is definitely an honor.
I was thinking of your comment at @6.30 "no way is there not 5 security blokes behind him" then the camera flips and it's just Larry. A surreal experience.
Awesome video!!! I’d like see a video on the art work and motorcycles.
Was able to tour this shop a few years back when in town for NHRA. Bernard walked me around and shared a story of Jay riding his helicopter bike, and melting the front facia of a loud mouth behind him in traffic. Ask Jay about it. Would love to see the fire truck as well and taking it to lunch. Love the videos man
Jay has such an amazing automotive collection
Jay Leno is such a great car guy. thanks for letting us in your garage
Jay's is such a Cool guy!!!! And your absolutely INSANE AT WHAT YOU DO SIR!!! 👍🏽 📷
Leno dropping knowledge. Salute.
A detailed workshop tour would be really cooll, like Jay's shop layout and what tools and machines he's got, I noticed a huge waterjet or whatever it was, in the background and got really curious as to what else he's got and how he has set it up.
Another idea: you could do a podcast where you and Jay just share car related stories
I would watch an entire TV channel dedicated to following Larry Chen et al on their photography adventures.
2:36 looks like it's been driven super fast through there, if it actually was that would be a nightmare haha. Really cool how you were able to focus on the car while making it look fast
That little red rolling chair....that made my day! Ahahah...
Beautiful! My favorite photographer with THE Jay Leno! Excellent ! By the way both the Panhard and the Talbot are French cars! Thanks for the video! 👍👍👍
hey larry i would love to hear jays views on crazy builds, street legal race cars and high horsepower engine swaps
THAT WAS CLOSE 😮 gotta love Jay Leno 🙏🏽🚗
Great video!
Maybe you could start doing an episode on every room and show the most interesting stuff. Then if there is demand for a certain car in a room you can make a separate episode for that one.
i used to think he was a funny guy on tv as a kid, now i respect him as a true vehicle enthusiast. dudes a living legend
Mr.Jay Leno spoke quite a lot of knowledge about owing and maintaining our cars... I mean for ppl that own more than one car
Like others have pointed out, I think it's really cool that Jay has a routine for doing a check on whatever car he's driving home for the day and that it's pretty clear that he does it himself because he's so familiar doing it... I would have always thought he would have someone else do that.
As far as something to cover, I've always wondered if they keep records on maintenance and when a car is driven so that they don't sit for too long? Even just owning a few cars, I'm always having issues with dead batteries because I don't drive them often enough. With a couple of hundred, I can't imagine how they make sure they all get driven often enough.
It's pretty much every real car guys dream, he still works on all the cars.
Larry, Thank you! I appreciate your question and also appreciate all the hard works it takes to produce a quality media product. I am interested specifically in any of Jay's Motorcycle collection from the 70's and 80's. I would also like to see/view more on the garage facilities and maintenance. I know there was a segments done on the lighting, lifts, paint booths etc,( more please) but how about fuels, lubricants and batteries for all these vehicles? Your segment included Jay talking about the importance of running his vehicles, so I am wondering how he manages/maintains so many vehicles fuel and batteries? A battery tender for each vehicle? Fuel stabilizer? Who starts and runs all these vehicles? I am getting too old to keep kick starting my big bore bikes. My small collection of six 70's and 80's Japanese motorcycles has me quit busy keeping the fuel(Ethanol free) fresh, starting them every two weeks an running the floats bowls empty. Thanks again
larry is my fav vlogger
you the best larry !!!
I love jay leno
Jay went out and bought a CGT for his clutch.
I would just go room to room! So many crazy cool cars!
Respect to Jay Leno from Trinidad and Tobago.
That little rolly chair is fantastic. There's gotta be a story on that.
At the 18:47 mark is that Paul Newman's wagon that Volvo built for him in the background as you flip the camera to selfie about the steam car?
The art work is my favorite part of his garage tbh
It would be awesome to see Jay’s collections of wagons! I saw he has that beautiful Volvo R.
Jays in a mood I've never seen him before. He's like a grandfather goofing off with the grand kids. He must know Larry pretty well.
18:32 The black ZR1 in the back ( Correct me if I am wrong) but I would love to see it up close! Maybe its his old z06 that i haven't seen since tube screen tvs
The best part is that Larry is talking like he in a library. Lol
Do the shogun Ford Fiesta. I know jay did an episode, but that thing is one of my favorite cars ever. Such a crazy ride
A manual was my second car, the learning experience is something I’ll never forget compared to my first car which was auto🙃
looking and talking about the artwork would be cool.
looking at and hearing the motorcycles as well,
I am fascinated at seeing the work done by craftsmen (and women).
Things I would like to see:
The areas that are NOT usually seen in JLG videos.
Watch Jay MAKING one of his videos, from an outsider's view.
have a look at his camera car and on-the-road photography/dialogue
Have a look at the kind of things you do for pay, corporate clients, etc.
Looking at my list, it seems I am thinking about the process of a photography/video shoot. .
