To answer the question ask yourself this, did you acquire them to enjoy them for their designs or because you think they might at some day have intrinsic value.
If its the latter, spend them on low value purchases, rather than use a credit card.
Iv considered £2 coins for their designs, using the common ones to pay for utilities.
