Nice vid Greg. I noticed that when you removed the broken piece, it still looked ok. There's a product that I use that's better than crazy glue, you may have heard of it it's called "Q-bond" it comes with a very powerful glue, black powder for plastics, and grey powder for metal repairs. I think it's great to repair RC plastic parts in case of an emergency.
I agree this release is a big deal in the RC hobby. LOSI did their R and D on this product, and it shows. I'm going to wait for the second batch and buy one for sure !! Great video, you seem to have the go to content on this, and you are doing a great job of real world RC testing !!
I am superimpressed that it is actually driveable (rideable?!)! I want one, but i figured I'd wait till prices come down a bit or a good sale.... and maybe they will have made a V2 with eventual bugs sorted out... I allready have too many RC, so for once I will try and restrain myself! :D
I agree on waiting on the next batch because I think the next batch go be faster and 3s ready I believe this one is 2s I haven’t seen nobody run 3s with on this
One tip I use on my bikes... get some stiff nylon rod say 3mm (like brushcutter line) and use that as a lean bar. Bend it rearward so it doesn't catch.. Doesn't look too out of place and does a great job of keeping the back wheel on the ground if you tip over hence throttling out and away. Plenty of RC race bike action on YT to see what I mean.
Thanks for the video! Seems easy enough to replace and honestly looks like a good "fusible link" to prevent damage to more expensive or harder to replace pieces.
I had the old Ricky Carmichael rc bike. I took off the lean bars and that would pop right up with 5 min of practice. That thing now is 6s 70+ mph brushless. I'm so glad Losi put this bike out When it falls, keep giving it throttle and quickly go back and forth with the steering. You'll get it to spin and lift
Thank's for Sharing the Repair Greg 🏁 Question about the amount of room for the plate and a possible reinforcement 1/8 inch thick aluminum plate attached to it? Nice Run without the stability bar's but I'll be using them allot because of Sharing this Model with young Family members and My old self LOL 😆😂😆 ✌🤠👍 Having Fun Laughing Playing and RCing 🙏 Stay Safe and Play Healthy My Friend 💯
It is. I tore it down in my first video too and reassembled it without the manual and didn’t wind up with any “spare” screws. lol Keeping the wires neatly sorted after a teardown is the one area that might take time. I haven’t torn down the forks either. But everything else seems good.
Losi did a fantastic job with the R&D. We got to play with the sample model at my shop and man is it unreal. So easy to drive and also easy to work on. Every offroad RC enthusiast needs a Losi ProMoto. It's just bad! I have 7 different RC bikes. The Exceed RC dirtbike that has a brushed motor-powered flywheel we converted to brushless doesn't even compete with the Losi ProMoto. My Thunder Tiger nitro-powered rc sport bikes are so hard to control. Losi hit it out of the park with this one.
What a great combo vid... repair job (much easier than expected), no lean bar demo.and tire/wheel options. Thanks Greg, always enjoy the content! As you said, LOSI really did a great job. I'm curious what they do to improve on what seems like perfection in the future.
@@raymondo162 It may come down in time, to be fair, it's pretty revolutionary. I see a lot of RC's that seem way outta their price range, but that comes with the hobby. Right now this bike has no real competition if any, so they can reap the rewards.
@@raymondo162that would be nice, but, I haven’t seen a decrease for popular Traxxas rc cars. This is going to be in demand for awhile. I think this is the cheapest it’s going to be for a few years.

probably could have been better plastic. i beat my stuff up pretty hard, and the RPM parts on my Cars/Trucks hold up well. i wonder if RPM will consider making parts for this
This is a very useful video. I think most people will want to use the bars, so you don't have to constantly put it upright and prevent damage to the bike. This is a great release and it will be interesting to see if the competitors try to catch up.
Could be cool with extendable support wheels, they could incorporate it into the heel of rider, but that would be quite a bit of kit, dont even want to know waht the bike would cost then. But damn that thing is suprisingly stable without the helpwheels. :D
I've already seen complaints from some that it doesn't turn like a car. But of course it doesn't. I think part of the fun will be learning a new skill.
Brings back memories when I had the tyco Harley Davidson RC and later got the RadioShack one which was so much fun. I think I had a blue fork bike one also.
Maybe there could be an aftermarket minimized part, similar to the Kyosho NSR bike’s wire, that might be a good balance of functionality and aesthetics?
@@joski9030 ya I’m sure it is a bit expensive for some. Sorry you guys have the even higher price! But a lot of the people that ride will pony up the money. Price is relative to one’s income. Some will think it’s expensive some will think it’s cheap.
Great video and information on the bike. Out of the box, my bike would not wheelie. I thought it may have been the cheap/weak battery I was using but that wasn't the case. Another RUclipsr suggested tightening up the slipper clutch which worked for about 2 batteries, now I'm back to very short (5 foot long) wheelies or no wheelies at all. I've continued to tighten the clutch until the nut has bottomed out---but my lackluster results are the same. I even took the clutch apart and lightly sanded the discs with 1000 grit sand paper. I run on very coarse asphalt so traction isn't a problem. Just curious if you or any of your viewers have had similar issues. Otherwise the bike is a hoot to drive. Btw, I tried to contact Losi and Horizon with zero success. Thanks again!
Is the charger crap like I've read on reviews? It sucks that apparently I can't use my traxxas ID charger for these batteries. Only reason i haven't ordered one... hate to blow money on a charger for just one rc. Especially a slow one and don't really want to buy an expensive one.....
Just an idea for gluing the Holeshot to the 2-piece wheel. Instead of using the usual thin CA glue, use a thicker CA that takes longer to dry. Put the tire in the wheel, but NOT in the 'grooves', and screw the wheel together. Next, using a Q-tip (or similar), lay down the CA into the groove on one side of the wheel, coating the bottom, and both sides, and then 'pull' that side of the tire into the groove. Once that side is done, repeat the process for the other side. Once both sides have dried, do a light coating, using the usual thin CA, around the edges of both sides, essentially "sealing" the tire & wheel together. Just an idea worth trying. 🤙🏼
Good thoughts. I’ve been thinking of all the different tire gluing scenarios I’ve encountered. Lots to think about before I fire up the camera to show it. Might have to make another call to PL to see what their procedure is too.
I will consider the lean bars like training wheels....as I learn the ins and outs to the driving experience I will lean them up little by little till all the way up....
I think a more streamlined boot cover/saver thing, like an extended bash plate might stop the feet grabbing. Riding on softer watered tracks with ruts in them would be so cool without the lean bars.
I like the tire combo's already available....however I hope our friends at proline give us a rear paddle option. Us sand riders could really use them 😅
Someone will eventually resin-print some clear lean bars. Or come up with another way to add a skid that is not as noticeable. You can bet money on it. We have some excellent 3D printer engineer guys out there that can work magic. I already have one Idea that I want to try to our shop to sample Losi Promoto MX.
Exactly. The more I ran it, the quicker I got at reacting to the bike’s movements such as punching the throttle when a foot caught the ground, to get the bike to stand back up.
i really like it. 600 is too steep. gotta get this think closer to 400. maybe 450. 600 dollars gets you so much in the RC world in regards to cars/trucks. i just dont see this thing taking off at that price point.
