Emppu is probably one if the best rythm guitarrist in the business, his patterns are so accurate heavy but cristal clear at the same time, but when he solo, the stakes are way higher, is soloing is exquisite, he does what the song needs amazingly always showcasing his abbility for the harmonies. Great guitarrist and so underrated, he should be up there with the best of the best in the business and get so much more recognition.

+Ian Jim I agree wholeheartedly. My favorite he's ever done, even though it's somewhat short, is the solo in Ever Dream. That solo should be the textbook definition of pure musical emotion. It screams desire and heartache.
My faves are from Beauty And The Beast, Crownless, Nemo, Creek Mary's Blood, Ever Dream and Wishmaster, in that order. Although he is amazing on every single song I think :D
My favourites of Emppu are (in order): Last of the Wilds, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Sun, Nemo and the High Hopes cover (I am a massive David Gilmour fan as well and love a good tribute).
kalmahman48 I replicate Emppu with red comp and a lot of sustain with overdrive on my Line 6 M13 Modeller, for my Gibson LP Standard. It sounds pretty close to me.
You can come closer to his sound with his esp ev Signature and the pod hd 500 or when you have more money you can use kemper Profiling Amps or a dual rectifire when youre not a fan of modeling.

The title doesn´t say much, hehe. He has always been a hopelessly unimaginative soloist. He usually just repeats the vocal melody and adds a couple of standard licks at the end. Anybody can do that.

All these solos are great and there are many others that didn't even get put on but to me i'm very partial to Creek Mary's Blood as number 1.
