I think what would break Homelander the most is losing his powers. He sees himself as a God and not having his powers anymore would completely shatter is ego. Then, once he's human again, Butcher strikes the final blow with his notorious crowbar.
The most fitting ending.
This is exactly how it should end. The story started with Homelander and Butcher, it should end with them too

Ryan solder boy and butcher Team up to Fight Home-lander together outside the white House which ends with Soldier boy turning himself into a Nuke as soldier boy charges up Ryan and Butcher fire and Connect there Heat visions together against Home-landers with them both going full power at Him with Home-lander Distracted soldier boy powers up and jumps between the three of them Hughie Teleports in the center as well with soldier boys shield and raises it up while screaming shut your eyes soldier boy blast his Beam at Home-lander taking his powers away but not completely we then see Star-light and Hughie Grab Home-lander by both of his Arms as Ryan and Butcher Both Use Heat vison on Him at the same time melting his brains out and blowing out half of his Brain we then see Star-light and Hughie uppercut his chin breaking his jaw as his body falls backwards off the Balcony and Descend into fire below

would be Butcher Soldier boy and Ryan doing a 3 Vs 1 against Home-lander fight with Solider boy turning himself into a powerful Nuke Ryan and Butcher Grab him at the last second giving soldier boy enough time to blast all 3 of Them Taking away there powers a swat Team shows up and They Arrest Home-lander right there on the spot we then see him being taken Through the crowd where everyone throws things at him and call him a monster the people Tear down His Statue and pics With him being sent to Trial Ryan is completely unphased from the Explosion as he still has his powers Butcher is bleeding out from the Fight on the floor and he dies in Ryan's Arms we then later see Home-lander in a Jail cell Waiting for his execution where he will die BY public electrocution ( the chair) or the Gas chamber
I think the best ending for Homelander is him losing his powers. To him, it would be fate worse than death, becoming what he hates the most - a regular human.

Technically Homelander is mortal, but I get what you’re saying. The only thing that gives Homelander any sense of self worth is that he’s the most powerful person on the planet. If someone like, say, Soldier Boy, takes away his powers, then I can see one of three things happening. Homelander kills himself rather than live his life as a human, he goes to prison and probably gets executed for all of his crimes, or Butcher will beat him to death with his crowbar. Either way, Homelander is beyond screwed.
How is Butcher evil? He is just radical. No compromise, every real revolutionary in history was like that. I think Butcher is a better person than Hughie and Mm. I trust people like him more
the fans definitely wont like it if Ashley is the one to get the killing blow on homelander. however if she gets the killing blow on the deep or sage it would be great.
Starlight or Hughie should have the final blow on The Deep. Ashley taking down Sage would be a better fit IMO

It will feel right if well deserved (not fully happy in other words), the heroes need to pay the price, you can't save everyone in a story like this, but a fully bad ending is not the only way to fit the story

When he wakes up he's suffering amnesia and forgets all his powers. Eventually he gets a job driving an ice cream truck round neighbourhoods selling 99's and mint Magnums to shouty kids.

Soldier Boy explodes in a fit of rage and depowers both Homelander and Butcher. Butcher then bludgeons Homelander to death with his bare fists before finally succumbing to his brain tumour.

Whatever it is, I don’t want him to die from a bunch of other supes teaming up on him. The show has always been about the humanity in people winning against these super powerful, evil forces. So whatever his death is, it should continue that main theme of the show.

1. Homelander loses his powers
2. Lives in agony of being human until he goes on a double date with The Deep and hopelessly falls in love with a giant squid
3. Has a romantic moment on the street with the squid, who's actually what Ashley turned into
4. A-Train runs through Homelander while in the hurry to get to Hughie's and Starlight's wedding
5. The squid Ashley is left shocked with Homelander's hands in her tenticles, teams up with Butcher to get revenge in season 6

And now he is actually planning to kill her, so Ashley decided to dose herself with V to protect herself against Homelander. Homelander gets stripped from his powers, gets locked up in a cell waiting for trial and then. Armed guards with the virus rush to his cell as Homelander seems to be levitating and regained his powers somehow, only to be revealed he hanged himself.
Edit: Maybe hanged himself with his cape or idk if he would get any other clothes.
I'm with Chase on this one, I want Homelander to want his death in the end. Him losing his powers and dying a mortal death isn't a fair fate, he didn't just wake up and decide he was better than humans, that fact was painfully proven to him for years.
He loses his powers and is completely paralyzed from the neck down and forced to be mocked for what he is the rest of his life.

Milk is actually his secret weakness and affects his biology in a way not even Vought knew, he wasn't even aware of and it actually weakens him for 1-2 hours after taking before it wears off. This is how Maeve was able to actually harm him in the S3 finale.

One of my favourite endings to a show is The Shield. I love how after taking a deal, he loses everything and becomes everything he ever feared & that’s working at a desk 9-5

Here's an idea for the ultimate, karmic demise for Homelander: We turn the tables.
Homelander losing his powers and being mortal for once seems to be a pretty popular fan theory, and I can see why; You take someone who is so used to seeing themself as divine, immortal, untouchable and you drag him down to the same playing field of as everybody else. This would be pretty impactful for Homelander... but I'd think it'd be even more impactful if it was a de-powered Homelander facing against a Billy Butcher *with* powers. To completely turn the dynamic between Butcher and Homelander on its head.
It doesn't have to be executed exactly as how I proposed it, but I feel like it is ESSENTIAL for Homelander to be figuratively powerless in his last moments. No grand heroic fight scene with ultra-choreographed action, no grandstanding about who is right and who is wrong, and no truth claims about who is fighting for a better tomorrow. For Homelander's demise to be karmic, it needs to be done as he has done to others: Swift. Wrathful. Violent. For once he must be on the receiving end of the kind of horrific bloodshed he has dealt, for he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword, and who better to carry that out by the villain who will usurp him... Billy Butcher.
I think unlikely, but very interesting and unexpected plot would be for Homelander to fall in love with Butcher now he is a supe too.
I think they both are already kind of infatuated with each other, and their hate for each other is more of a secret admiration, especially given both are misogynists and arent really capable of loving a woman outside of stupid nurturing clishes, but now Butcher is a supe, what will stop Homelander from adoring him, especially given he only ever cares for people who challenge him.
So if Butcher kills him it would be like a tragic love story or something... that would be awesome
I feel like homelander not losing his but getting even stronger and killing off everyone is the best ending because it would be a cool symbolization of how crazy superheroes would be in real lofe

A-Train's part 💀☠️🔥-that ending was completely out of the box, maybe the best yet. We've been with the show since Season 1, and it's pretty obvious that Homelander will eventually die in the end, and everything will stop... but what if it doesn't? That ending is something else. It's darker and perfectly suited to the show's dark theme, much like how Amazon's Invincible handled Omni-Man in Episode 1. Plus, full-rage Homelander destroying everything is on another level.
It would be a good plot twist, if Homelander actually survives and still has his powers but somehow turns nice.
Controversial Opinion:
I like A-Trains idea the best. It would be fun to see a future series or movie with The Boys dead and following Homelander securing the world under his own. Just so then it can end with Ryan killing Homelander. And then another series or season of this series following Ryan trying to rebuild the world after his father’s destructive reign.

I want kinda Max Payne 3 ending for this. He's the only man in the sky? Well, they find a way to bring him down to earth (he loses his powers). After that Butcher is ready to kill him, but Ryan stops him (with words). Homelander is brought to justice next, dying in a cell after some time (by his hand or the others'), and Butcher, relieved, finally gets to live his life for once, even if it's for a short time.
Some details may change, like Butcher may not survive to see this through, but for Homelander - i think it fits pretty well. Probably not gonna happen anyway.
I think Soldier Boy must and will play a huge role in this, it will be all about Butcher, Soldier Boy, Ryan and Homelander. If Soldier boy takes Homie power, then the virus must be for him, if not, i think only Homie can kill Soldier Boy (don't know how powerful Butcher is), but Homie will kill Soldier Boy only if he kills Ryan or teams up again with Butcher. If so, i guess Ryan will be the one who should kill Homelander injecting him with the virus, after he killed Butcher (and almost the rest of the cast)
I think that a good ending would be that the boys discover how soldja boys power-remover works and have Ryan poison homelanders milk with it, to then have butcher beat him to death barehanded

@@SNAKEeditor345 yeah, now I think it won't be that good as i thought, it kinda will prove a point to Homelander about humanity, he will die the same little angry tortured kid, reliving his childhood, that wasn't just or fair. If Homelander will die similarly to how he was treated as a kid, it would feel like an L for humanity, idk how to describe it better.
But he's definitely not going for any redemption, he's too far gone at this point. Instead i think he needs to realise that humans are better than him some other, non-physical way, which of course will piss him off beyond any reasonable limits and he will just "blow on his own petard" or whatever Hughie's actor said. I think the end of Homelander should be the end of his powers, him having them taken away from him by being force-injected by some type of antidote, or serum, then locked away in case his powers come back. If he uses his powers to hurt people, using them to control other people, to strike fear in them, one of his greatest fears is losing his powers. Homelander had his powers for so long, and long enough has he used them to terrorize innocent people. I think taking them away will teach him a lesson. A lesson, knowing what it feels like to be scared of something he can't control. Something, or someone he can't easily kill as he once did. Something that is much stronger than him.
I think tomer is rt, every season when they try to confront homelander, it always ends up being a broken plan and evb seems to be against each others ideals, so the perfect ending for me would be one of butchers best plans to take down homelander with the boys as a team, and maybe not wipe out the supe population bcuz not all of them are bad supes, compound v can either bring out the worst in you or the best in you, and I think butcher and ryan vs homelander and soldier boy should be the final fight of the series, maybe ryan isn’t far from saving, but he’s def done some crazy shi.

Homelander winning would be a very fitting ending. Executing it correctly would be tough, but I think it has more potential than him dying or losing his powers.
i think it would be crazy if they have a full on fight with him , like EVERYONE goes against him and he just annihilates them but then somehow butcher kills him and doesn’t stop until MM tries to step in and calm him down but then he kills him and the rest of the boys leaving hughie alive as he does have that soft spot for him but instead of referring to him as hughie , he refers to him as Lenny and the series ends with hughie just being a normal dude…traumatised and then (cut to black) (Uptown Girl by Billy Joel starts playing)

This makes no sense. Seems you just are tired of the good guys winning but that’s the thing: The Boys aren’t good guys and that’s the point of this previous season. Most the main cast will surely die on both sides so you’ll be satisfied either way with your nihilistic approach.
I want Homelander, Butcher, and Soilder Boy to fight to a bloody death with only Butcher surviving like in the comics and the rest of the Boys will sadly have to kill Butcher and Ryan who survives would have one sad last conversation with the good butcher.
Idk about her killing Homelander, but I really like the idea of Ashley to turn into their version of the Hulk and just rampaging through Vaught.
Maybe taking out The Deep along the way.
This is the perfect show to have the villain wins. Homelander gets his way and continues to being a menace until he gets bored.

I know there’s no chance of redemption, but if there was a world where he lost his powers only to find redemption and power as a regular human, that would be a complete arc for his character. Unfortunately you’d need at least an added season six if you had any hope of trying to redeem homelander

He shouldn't, he is the real hero of the show and he deserves happiness 😂
Butcher manages to steal/destroy all the V->makes homelander lose his powers -> unalives himself/ tumor gets him -> we get a bird's eye of homelander curled up on the floor naked drinking carton milk -> starts working at vought-a burger with petty fights here and there -> at some point unalives himself

See personally, I feel like Ryan or Butcher should take the cake of killing him. I also feel like in his final moments he says: “I….. am….. the.. Homelander….” in his last breath
I’ve been thinking for years about this, but I’d like to see Homelander lose all respect and love. His exposè is all out there; the truth about Flight 37, his lack of respect for humans, his body count, his corruption, Ryan abandoning him, etc. Everybody sees him for who he truly is. He is guaranteed to break. Either he goes on a rampaging killing spree, eventually leading the Boys to his vulnerable ego and killing him, or, how i’d see it as well, he “offs” himself.
I hope they gonne figure this our in a diffrent way than comics did
Considering that Soldier Boy comes back in the last season, Homelander losing his powers seems like a pretty possible outcome. How it goes after that? Eh, who knows. But a slow agonizing death where he has to deal with his "humanity" as he physically deteriorates into an old man shamed by everyone or a quicker, but still prolonged death infused with human brutality(like that bat scene in Inglorious Basterds) would be a fitting end for him.
If Soldier Boy still has the ability to negate supes powers then that would be end game. Homelander losing his powers by his father, not being able to live without his powers, him spiraling and then maybe suicide
How about they put him through such enormous emotional turmoil that he just agrees to die? Like Homelander is too powerful to be killed, he is always in charge, so why not putting him in charge of his own death? Maybe for Ryan or something
Hear me out on this ending.
During the final supe war between Homelander and butcher, soldier boy jumps in and uses his nuke to get rid of everyone’s powers, leaving Homelander and butcher on the battlefield powerless.
Then butcher walk up to powerless Homelander and gives him a brutal death with his bare fists and a crowbar to end him.
Have you guys thought about HL actually winning in the end?
What if in the final battle he ends up killing Butcher, but Butcher is able to cripple Homelander in a way he isn't able to move or use his powers ever again, and he slowly dies of age with nothing to do about it
Something like the ending of "I have no mouth and I must scream"
I think a good final battle could be a fight between Butcher and Homelander with Homelander gaining the upper hand until Ryan unexpectedly saves Butcher and redeems himself as a hero
