He should be wearing hand gloves. Safety first is very important. Indian railways must ensure that their staff have safety boots too. Its no use having one of the best rail network in the world when you compromise safety.
@@Retired88M not really, depend if they wanted to Argentina for example most of thier trains on Broad Gauge are use chains and buffers however some Broad Gauge Freights Cars and 3 GP40M-3 in Argentina are indeed use knuckle couplers
Why don't they just use knuckle couplers instead of all that tinkering? That joint and air could have been done in about 30 seconds. Is there a reason they still use the link and bumpers? Just curious! Nice video though!

21 century , and the automatic coupling is still from the beginning of the era of the 19th century . it 's just awful . we have been cooperating with the USSR for so many years , and we could not even solve this task for ourselves . everything is simpler with us . I clung to the train automatically and forgot .
This is very inefficient and dangerous to couple coaches. The railway company should first enforce safety measures for the staffs. Knuckle couplers are far more efficient and safer. Japan used to have buffer and chain coupling system but decided to change to knuckle couplers nationwide overnight in the 1920s. India is a larger country but with good planning, I think it is doable.

This is very crude , atleast 100 yr old. Our gov't wants to make our country technologically advanced. But ground reality is different. I have also seen a video on welding of rail joints .That was also very crude .
That connection isn't properly secure, too much slack, should be slightly buffered up and no free play between the buffers. The screw link coupling can't take up anymore slack 😟 Gonna be a jerky ride each time power is applied and and when the brakes are applied!

Newer coaches comes with knuckle coupler. That is old coache that's why it has that old system

This is probably a very old coach. Newer coaches use CBC/knuckle couplers.
In india, Knuckle Couplers mostly use one locomotives and freight cars while chains and buffers where use on EMU and passenger cars
