I am new member of Acrylic University and so glad I did! So much to learn, but I am learning! Thank you for your style of loving teaching! You are truly a gifted artist, but more importantly, a generous giver of that talent!
Hi Jed I'm absolutely fascinated with your technique, especially with the negative painting! I'm a novice but my life has become so exciting since I started painting with acrylics. I feel drawn to your manner of painting, the contrasts in the colors you use... Thank you for the tutorials!!! Kind regards Maldi Smit (South Africa)
Love your technique using the sky - the negative space idea - it's so brilliant. It's beyond me at this time but something I want to work toward! The painting is bright and beautiful!
Enjoyed seeing the evolution of this process, light background, moving to foreground with darker and lighter contrasts, certainly see the vibrant yet subtle separation, beautiful.
I love the negative painting and have been working on learning how. To start, could I use an acrylic pen to lightly mark where to place the bright color to form the trees to help get used to doing it? This is so pretty and I could watch these lessons all day!
Love this technique of creating a light source and adding faint indications of trees with white. I would never have considered yellow for a background like this, and only using a small amount of blue in the river, but it turned out so great! Thank you for sharing. I would love to see you paint light through a forest... I think I saw you do a demo of light through a forest for some art supply company and I've wanted to go back and watch it again but I have no idea where to find it.
Loving your lessons. Question: I recently sprayed Varnish over a finushed water color... only a light spray ( made for w/c, acrylic, or oil!) It left my piece ALL MILKY. Now I am afraid to varnish again!!
one of my favorite techniques.... Otoole style! Love to see more like this! Negative painting background...love it!
Wonderful painting Jed, so inspiring too! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

This is beautiful! You are a master of negative painting.
Thank you so much 😀 I love the results it gives. . . so much easier than actively painting all the trees imo
Fun to see how it came together.
I’m so used to doing bright colors in the foreground and cooler colors in the background. But this technique totally works too!

The light focal area you painted straight down instead of circular, very brilliant painting 🧡

Which brand/type of acrylic marker did you use here? The ones I've found are not that small.
Very Stephen Quiller esque
🤯
Oh my gosh. I accidentally just hit Dislike so subtract any dislikes you got by one! I did hit Like after that.
