My best childhood friend gave me a mix CD and the first thing on there was this song. That was my introduction to Utada and then I got my official introduction to KH with the original Chain of Memories on GBA. Months later I cracked and bought a PS2 along with a Greatest Hits copy of the original game. My life was never the same xD

my thoughts exactly. disappointed they didnt use the japanese music for final mix 1.5/2.5.. the english version is great, but the japanese has more depth of emotion to the vocals, not just a focus on intricate words.

I can't believe that i was 5 years old when i played KH1 for the first time in my brother's PS2 (i'm still have the game) and then i play the PS3 version 3 years ago (2017) and now with almost 19 i still play this game (in PS4) and i remember everything like where are the treasures, Trios and somes items but i can't remember was i was doing in 2011 🤣🤣🤣 Sorry my English
I'm pretty much the same as you but I played KH1 when I was 3 or 4. My brother is the one that got the game but he moved out by the time I played it. I've played all the games now. Love the series, KH1 and KH2 are super nostalgic for me.

Kingdom Hearts was one of the very first "true" video games I remember ever seeing (up to that point I just played Nick flash games) and it was while watching my cousin play on his PlayStation 2. About 9 years later, I'm now 15 and I've finally started playing Kingdom Hearts for myself thanks to Xbox Game Pass. I finished all parts of Birth By Sleep on Critical a few days ago and am now going through KH1 on Proud.

Also my brother beat KH COM GBA version, a month or a week before KH1 and it took him 5 years 😂😂 we still have the game since 2004 and he took 5 years to beat it for the first time... now the games only tooks 1 or 2 weaks (i miss the old days)
Utada wrote both the Japanese and English version. The Japanese version came first as it was a part of one of her studio albums. Square asked if they could use the song for their game and also asked if she could rewrite the song in English for global release.
