No effort by the others on the boat to help themselves. No effort to put the anchor out when they were headed towards the beach/swimming area. Refusing the seatow and no one helping I don't think I'd be in too much of a hurry to help them out much aside from keeping the boat off the beach. Tell them to drop the anchor and you're on your own.

Much as I'd like to agree with you, it's on all boat owners to help each other out. Or at least keep the boat from becoming a larger threat.
For like 10 extra bucks a year, my marine policy covers seatow up to $500. So my tow would be free.

200 feet of rope and you can't throw it t feet? How about instead of trying to throw it into someone's hand you throw it over the middle of the jet ski so it land on them. It's rope it won't hurt.
And take the time to tie it to a cleat FIRST.
NOTE To Self: Learn how to coil rope so it won't tangle and you can throw it to another boat.

Boston Whalers are magical. They never land hard. Compared to most other boats, no matter what size, they all just pillow softly back into the water. (No, I don't own a Whaler :-)

He propbably did not have a membership. So the $1200 tow bill would have been paid before a membership. TowBoat or SeaTow membership is important.

Well, the guy should have accepted the initial offer of help from the Blackfin boat... once out of the jetty, knowing he had NO power, he should have dropped anchor to prevent drifting further out or from being beached... lots of wrong on this video.. rope too long, no one in the boat doing anything (but one guy), just not thinking. Well done for the guys on the Blackfin boat to help!
Exactly how many miles of rope did this guy have onboard! Shame on him for refusing the “tow boat”, he put people beyond his own passengers at risk - because he was/is cheap!

Wow what a cluster. That's what happens when a terrible captain is in charge with no plan and using shoddy equipment. They are also to cheap to pay for a rescue service in hopes to get a free ride from some other good sailor. Pretty irresponsible to all his passangers.

Painful to watch. Take the driver of boat license. Do jot let him near a boat. What is going on with so much time spent gathering and undoing the freaking rope. He rolls it up. Then it is tangled. Then ties too high in bow. Jet ski passenger trying to hold tow and he gets pilled off jet ski. Wow what a comedy vid
