totally, companies only afloat from constant cash injections from investors, rising stocks, or survival off loans alone, and then expecting growth every year, is pure insanity to me. Stock and shareholders are the reason [i think] that these crazy expectations exist that every company needs to delivery growing numbers every year, why? only to effect stocks, which at the end of the day does not matter in reality. Stocks are gambling, and those who risk their excess money gambling should NOT determine what companies accomplish or measure as success. Companies need to get back to serving customers and humanity, not the rich who gamble in the market.

But stocks are a gambling system and not reality, so of course the gamed system is not compatible with real life economies and actual people. So these guys are scared to lose the game, even though if they didnt have to play the game they would be perfectly fine for decades...

This massive consolidation is the end of capitalism. The result will be a monopoly where a single company controls the price of a specific sector, but the average consumer will be unaware. The lack of real competition will result in high prices but a reduction in quality. The high prices we see around us are not a result of inflation but consolidation in other sectors. For example, Nestle owns over 2k companies worldwide, which the consumer thinks are competing for your dollar, but are not because they are buddies. As the consumer, regardless of which brand you choose, your dollar will end up in the same bank account. Nestle has no incentive to lower prices. The same thing is happening in fashion now…

Michael Kors is overpriced and quality is like a no name brand so why should we pay more just to market a name? Quality is not there anymore and smart people will not waste their money on a Louis vouiton brand.

That's not true. Even mentioned in this article, Kering and Richemont are #2 and #3 in size. Besides, a monopoly isn't considered a monopoly until a company starts using their influence shut out the competition and then raise prices. As much as I don't care for LVMH, they aren't close to a monopoly.

After merging with Michael Kors, which is considered a mid-tier affordable brand, those brands once termed "luxury" seem to have transitioned into more of a fast-fashion space. The exclusive luxury aura previously associated with their names appears diminished. In contrast, Hermès retains a distinct sense of exclusivity.
