  • Just a small tour of the classic BMW workshop Derby Classics where I work as a mechanic. Restoring Classic BMW's for me a true dream job. Now I not only race in a classic BMW 2002, but I also get my hands dirty on them learning new skills along the way.
    Enjoy this tour at Derby Classics ( www.derbyclassics.nl ), cheers

    Interesting place Carlo👊 Has to be the manual CS for me. Black interior for the silver 1602 in my opinion. Brown if the exterior paint was gold maybe, but black for silver. All the best👍

    I love classics cuz they're true survivors You gotta respect classic car revivers I shall share this channel you deserve more subscribers I wish I was where you are because I no longer trust my old car an E46 M3 to get me very far I have an elecrical drain that is a right old pain and the unreliability constantly frustrates my brain I shoulda never sold my old E30 325I SE I always get nostalgia when a lovely old beemer is what I see They were built to a higher quality

      Oh but I didn't buy it cheap I bought approved and used because I wanted it to keep but unfortunately the dealers love to scam and replacing the Smg pump which was a money Dump the left me with a dent when my money I had spent They also left bolts missing from the exhaust Sytner BMW Gallows Corner ofcourse! It was from Specialist cars Stevenage it was originally bought Quality is what I sought but the dealership experience with stress was fraught Poorly painted wheels Expensive deals and a deaf ear to reasonable appeals...They don't make em like they used to and they don't play straight Now i'd only buy a classic beemer cuz the dealerships I hate Bless your heart @@DoctorCarLove

    nice place i used to own a few 02's in the 80's and 90's the most powerful one was the 2002 Turbo and it was tuned to nearly 300hp but it was completely different engine well inside outside it looked the same i remember some of the parts we used was from the first M3 but i was driving most of the time with 0,6 bar turbo boost and i could change the boost from inside i could turn it uo to 1.1 bar then the engine had 297 hp every 0.1 bar was about 10 hp im German but live in the UK
    thanks

      At the time, the 2002 Turbo was already a sensation with its 170 series horsepower and, if driven in a sporty manner, was really not for beginners. The sales brochure at the time stated "An automobile for the driver with a particularly high level of mental and physical fitness". BMW wanted to deliver the 2002 Turbo with a sticker on the front spoiler in BMW colors and in mirror writing "2002 turbo", so that everyone in the rear view mirror could see what was coming. But this caused so much uproar in the public, that it even came to a discussion in the Bundestag about the 2002 Turbo and BMW then decided to deliver the spoiler only mt en BMW colors without the lettering. It was the sensitive time of the oil crisis The lettering was then only available to customers on request under the hand at the dealer.

    What is the blue touring shell up on the 1st floor?

    • @DoctorCarLove
      @DoctorCarLove  11 месяцев назад +1

      It’s a touring Tii body. Inthink it’s a 1970 car. The body had been fully restored & painted 10 years ago. Zero rust. If you want to have any details on the chassis just visit the derby classics website. wwwderbyclassics.nl cheers

    There should soon be a new EU law after silver cars with brown seats are no longer allowed to drive on public roads. And every citizen who has to look at this cruel color combination will get compensation from the owner of the car.😁 I would never have believed that I will ever welcome an EU law. 🥳

    • @DoctorCarLove
      @DoctorCarLove  10 месяцев назад +1

      Haha. No law abiding citizens here at Derby Classics. We’re more of “most laws can be bent & all the other can be broken” kind of people. Cheers
