What a great interview. I teared up at the end because I know first hand the impact this band has on someone. I met my wife in 1992 at both of our first PJ concert. We just celebrated 31 years married with 5 girls. None of this would have happened had we not been fans of this iconic band so I too thank PJ for a life I only dreamed about. We will see them live this year for the 30th time, yes 30!! We've traveled the planet following them in the early 2000s and memories for a lifetime. Loving this new album but more so loving this band❤️😊
I think I went to school with your second daughter. She married a Pakistani man ammirite?
Love this story ❤
Wow, my 2nd date with my wife was at PJ show '92 as well. Something about this band...
She did good encapsulating what it means to some of us. 👍
Yes, I totally agree
You wont fully appreciate the album until it's plugged in your ears and turned up. The sound this band put out is unlike anything I've heard from them. It really grows on you.
I always loved listening to Nicole on KROQ when I lived in L.A. I knew she loved Pearl Jam but didn’t know she went to all of those shows. That is just fantastic. Way to go, Nicole! See you at The Forum next month. ❤️
Oh my goodness I don't know how you kept your cool. What an amazing interview and opportunity to speak with Eddie. I swear I could listen to him talk all day. There is just something about his awkward way of talking but then still articulates himself in the most brilliant way. Eddie Vedder will never not be my spirit animal ❤
Great interview ❤ Thank you Nicole for mentioning how much PJ has impacted lives. I feel the same way. A compass for sure.
Nicole I've listened to you on the radio for years and never realized how much of a PJ fan you were. Love it. Pearl Jam Concerts are like going to church for some of us, the energy off that crowd is something you never forget.
I don't go to Church in the legacy sense. I congregate to Pearl Jam.
Yes. Difficult to explain the feeling of being a part of the Black do do doo doo dos.
Great interview, great interviewer.
it was really cool to see an interview with a real fan of the music.
Eddie seems to always give such thoughtful answers to every question. I love the new album and she asked some really cool questions. Questions only a die hard fan would ask.
Hey Nicole, honestly I cried the hole second half of your interview with Eddie … I am this fan you are, I felt so connected and I could feel this Love you felt being there, speaking to Eddie and could probably not believe the situation you are in … thank you so much, that was real, I so would love to give you a hug right now … just wonderful ❤
Cringe
I'm same but better because I come from a marginalized group.
I got a little choked up watching this... but like, for all good, positive and wonderful reasons!! Delightful interview with my hero. Thanks for the incredible heart and questions, Nicole.
Nicole I’m a Hispanic woman from Brooklyn who loves PJ too. But I’ve only been to 40 shows. 😔. We should be friends 😂
Great to get a chance to hear these interviews now after such a great album debuted on Friday. I'm loving it. And damn, she's been to 112+ PJ shows? What a superfan.
What a fantastic job by Nicole!
Eddie is such a good dude. 💙
Great interview Nicole
Loved the interview! Love hearing Eddie's perspectives on everything ❤
Ugh. Been trying so hard not to listen to the record yet. I want to be able to really just sit down in my happy place and give it my full attention. But also, so excited!
Great interview 👏
This may be my favorite Eddie interview. Great questions, amazing vibe. I cried at the end. Amazing.
What? Cried? Really?
Yes, I cried too but longer and with more gusto than you.
Fuck is wrong with Jeff
Is kroq taking off my tiny comments? Never thought I'd get such flack on social media for backing the artist. But srsly what's wrong with Jeff
Answering the question, where and how to listen to an album. Walking on a dark night with headphones is amazing
I've had this thought of Eddie getting Mick, Paul, and Topper to re-form the Clash for a final studio album and maybe a tour. Apparently, Joe and Mick wrote a batch of songs right before Joe passed that could form the basis for a studio album. I know Eddie consider The Clash one of the holy grails of what he does.
Dark Matter is freaking awesome! Please someone post a comment to remove the sheit one sitting at the top of this section. People are so stupidly negative and really no one cares what they think but always happy to vomit their sheit opinion
cool interview! thaaanks a lot
Love this interview!🤍
Can't wait for the Australian tour. ❤
Awesome interview.
Wow… that was lovely
Im a fan since day one. I was 16 when i first saw even flow and alive on MTV. This record is honestly great. Im so happy with what they created. Cuz i still look forward to new PJ records like im still 16. I love this record and i love how happy they are with it. Thank you Pearl Jam
Great work here - thanks
Great interview, I've had dreams of Eddie but never really know what I'd say if I met him, but your questions were really great. So cool how he used songs to answer like being in the present tense, or on the porch to feel the present. Maybe Buckle Up needs to be renamed to "Be Careful" :D He sure had a wild time with climbing the rafters - glad he was careful! I personally think the best way to experience Dark Matter is running with ear phones blaring - just filling your head with sound out in the world, smiling to people as you run past them. Does depend on how great your car speakers are, but I once blew one, so don't rely on that anymore. Thanks again!
Great interview! Great job
Is it possible to be in love with an album? Dark Matter is epic beyond proportions!
🤙🏽
Great Job! Thanks for articulating all the feelings and appreciation so many of us fans and road warriors have for our favourite band in the world.
Hands down, the best interview I've heard with Ed. Great job.
Cannot wait! Thank you for posting this.
amazing record

I WISH YOU LUCK AND HAVE FUN AND STAY SAFE! I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOUR AWESOME CONCERTS!! 😊🩷🤘✌️
Far better than the Stern interview. Not even close.
This is such a great interview. Great to see such a big fan interview them. It's always refreshing when the interviewer isn't pretending to be a big fan.
Amazing interview! Congrats Nicole 👏👏
❤
Simply ❤️ you know that
🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Fantastic interview well done!
Very cool interview
Eddie brah got plenty Aloha...this is mana, oh yessuh☮️🏝😎🥭
It is a terrific to shoot hoops to I can tell you that right now. I listen to Pearl Jam often doing my basketball workouts by myself these days at the park and it is magical.
Nature is heavy mana especially the ocean. Pacific ocean of Hawai'i says it all🏝 chee hoo
I have loved PJ since day one saw them many times and met EV and had a conversation with him with hugged and stuff. This album is without a doubt their best since Vitalogy...I love pearl jam even though I don't agree with alot of their politics and rants.
Many find political rants of great musicians and bands the deal breaker. Mahalo for your love of the band. Eddie oh so fine
Great interview.
after one listen i like "wreckage" thats about it. after 2 listens, same, ill try one more listen then ehh.......ive been to 11 concerts...
sure hope the guys are planning on just being political in 2024
I find a staggering that someone who has been recording music for 30 years thinks that this album sounds good.
GREAT songs - but they *need* to remix and remaster it.
The amount of compression is awful, the live drums sound like a drum machine, the guitars sound squeely (not in a good way) and everything is horribly brickwalled.
This is Pearl Jam, not Dua Lipa.
It’s an aural disastrous mess, just like the Rolling Stones album he destroyed.
Abruzzesse was a racehorse.
Wrong metaphor. Sorry for your loss
But do you just watch his interviews to see if he'll mention him someday 🥹 🤣
Have you ever asked yourself why if Abruzzesse is so good he has not been hired by any of the top bands? I do not have an answer to that, but there must be one. So, I recommend you to get over to his absense in PJ so as to stop the pain I suspect you still have. That happened in 1994!
Eddie Vedder sounds A LOT like Johnny Depp!
Boring and un-imaginative , , , with poor vocals.
YOUR BORING AND YOU DON'T HAVE IMAGINATION SOOO SAD!! PEARL JAM #1 BEST LIVE BAND EVER!!!! 😊✌️
Eddie didn’t like people listening to his music in the car
In the past, he bashed them
They need to get back in the studio with Brendan O’Brien and ditch this Andrew Watt
Oh I see, you have specific beef as a jaded unenthused twerp
Last two albums with Brendan were not great, far from it! Backspacer is ok, this one surpasses it by a long shot!
I think backspacer is one of their best albums. The only song I don't like from that album is The Fixer.
@@jamesskilling7363 music taste is very personal I respect that. The point is with Brendan they were going down a path I think it was uncharateristic for them, I dare to say there was almost no soul to their work, LB was a major disapointment for me, lacks personality. This album on the other hand it fuses their past sonorities quite well, is a journey from beggining to end and captures their live energy! Andrew Watt deserves praise!
It’s subjective for sure. For me, they have been trash since the self titled avocado album. That album was weak and it’s been down from there. But they peaked at VS. Eddie’s ego just took over after that. Kicked their drummer out and changed how they paid royalties. Eddie takes the chunk. Same thing happened with Nirvana after Nevermind.
I don't like pearl jams new lead singer
Great interview!!!
For all my friends, alike and critical, 1st 3 enderaing insightful minutes were for whatever reason not shown here's. This Nicole has led a charmed life, it would seem 😀

That's wild Ed doesn't remember, but Johnny passed a few days after this, so maybe it's all a blur since he & Ed were apparently so close
