Only thing is I can't see Phil running a parade through Albert Square threatening to disperse poisonous laughing gas from the balloons and onto the streets. Let alone do his own commercials with a clown type voice.

He was quick to blame other people, mainly Frank, but didn't take any responsibility himself, when he was the main reason why she died. Because Phil was absent from 8 years (1998-2006) of Ben's life and Ben ended up calling someone else (Gavin) his dad as result, it's highly unlikely that Ben will become an alcohol.
Pauly B But it has been mentioned so many times by Peggy imparticular that Phil is just like his father. I know his Dad used to abuse him but abuse or not, Phil always had the tendancy to drink just like his Dad did.

There is a chance that the Mitchell cycle of abuse may end because some Mitchell father's never got the chance to do the same things their sons due to the mother escaping the abusive father/husbands whilst taking their babies with them (Glenda took Danny away from Archie, Kathy took Ben away from Phil, and Michelle took Mark Jnr away from Grant).
