@@SilentFlowey 99% of what you said was wrong, an ip is just for telling a site where to send what to,, it can not reveal thhe routers locattion, ip locating websites rely on the ip inn a list off ips that are given out by the isp in a certain area so it would be impossibble to find your exact location, an ip isnt all that bad to have leaked as the only thing they can do is DDoS your network but its usually a small DDoS as actual "hackers" donnt use ttheir botnets to DDoS random kids. they can also scan the wifi for open ports but thats a whole other thing and open ports are usually not volnarable
@MAXEL_VR i doubt its an ip grabber as those dont really make much sense as an ip is unimportant info as it is public and reveals close to nothing about you
the bot just wants to get you to give it authorize it to your account and it will have the perms "add you to servers" or something along the lines of that. then later on after a while, they will begin adding you to sketchy servers and the second you leave add you back
Maybe because it's a bot that embedded a convincing nitro gift link that upon claiming, will automatically send you to a sketchy ip grabber website. Rule of thumb, don't click random links man.
"Add bot" will either have a "join servers for you" not very dangerous, but annoying as hell. Just de-auth the bot. The button will probably send you to some sketchy site, either by normal scam techniques such as surveys, or takes your ip. (remember, NOT your exact adress)
don’t worry if it grabs your public ip, all websites do and it can’t be used to track you into specific details. Your private ip is the only thing you don’t want grabbed and it’s the only one that can track you. Stay safe!
this is a auth bot once you auth the bot to your account its gonna force you into joining servers if said bot was a IP grabber around 3 - 10 days the bot would be deleted / blacklisted
Okay, let me explain! So what this bot does is what we call a scam bot. Now, Discord did not get hacked; actually, it's one of Discord's features known as "Embed". So what this bot will do is it will spam DM everyone in a certain Discord server that the bot is in with an embed that looks identical to a Discord Nitro link. But in reality, if you click it, one of two things will happen: it will send you to a Grabify and your IP will get logged, or it will send you to a fake Discord login/site that will ask you to enter information and end up stealing your Discord account. This is just one of Discord's features, and many other bots like that one have been made. Of course, it could also be an authentication bot that will ask you to enable the permission "Join servers for you." Once that is enabled, it will just join random servers, and you're fine; just disable the authentication if you fall for it. (this one is more likely) (Your welcome not much to worry about and if your afraid of swatting just use a VPN man.)
its not that its a ip grabber, when you click claim itll redirect you to a fake discord site and make you login to your discord account, from there they steal your discord account
all it will make you do is just add to your server - it might send you somewhere after you add it but that would be it. i wouldn't worry much about your ip getting leaked anyways, especially when you can just reset your router and change it + they can't track you down or anything with an ip, probably the city you live next to. all it takes is just common sense to not click it, especially the image and adding a bot for "free nitro"
@@MAXEL_VR oh my god... no, they cant swat you with an IP. theyd need your HOME ADDRESS and a plausible enough excuse to even attempt a swat.\ your friend is dumb.
I dont fully know its an ip grabber link but put some ideas in the comments
Every website gets your IP, just like the one these people have registered.

true
i was kinda putting more drama in the video than needed
anything that tells u to add a bot to gain something is immediately a red flag
You can turn off Bot DMs in your server settings.
It’s not a server 💀
i honestly don't care about the people that fall for these, if it's too good to be true it's likely not true.
yea if u fall for this ur probs apart of the stupid people of discord who would fall for the steam report scam.

I don't think that this is an IP-grabber. I'd guess it's phishing.
