  • Omaha's Riverfront Revitalization Project is a $300 million transformational development which includes cascading waterfalls, a boardwalk, an urban beach, park-side cafes, and a new science center with riverfront views. Join us for a bird's-eye view of what's to come beginning in summer 2022 with Gene Leahy Mall, 2023 for Lewis and Clark Landing, and 2024 for Heartland of America Park.

I am so glad Omaha has a vision to cater to the pedestrian, which spur a more profitable and attractive city, vs other cities that are known to have dangerous eyesore, overbuilt interchanges and highway miles right through the city that isolates neighborhoods and makes the walking experience more hostile to pedestrians. Meaning more traffic congestion, less commerce activity, lowered land values and a more expensive infrastructure to maintain with few diminishing returns.

This project was not possible by the 400M from private donors and 50M from the city. Not only is the Omaha side of the river getting these beautiful riverfront parks but leaders in Omaha have cooperated with Council Bluffs to get enough funding to create beautiful parks along their side of the river, which willl connect via multiple pedestrian bridges and the streetcar line.
