    Forget that was the trans stick, we all make mistakes. This was a very good show case on oil changing on the Tahoe. Camera man did a great job with the shots. I hate when the camera doesn't show exactly whats going on. Good Job!

      When he checked the trans stick had me run and get my keys like I've been checking it wrong this whole time 😢 glad I came back and watched more videos and checked the comments lol. @btwilliasgarage thanks for the great video! As a female I feel confident enough to change the oil myself now :)

    Nice video, thanks for taking the time to do these. FYI 2015 was the last year the K&N HP-1017 Oil Filter was used on the Tahoe. K&N HP-2011 is the correct filter for 2016 and later Tahoes.

    Excellent video and I change my oil every 2,000 miles with motul Gen 2 5w40 for my 4 cylinder. I always pre fill the oil filter so there’s no chance of it getting low and dry starting and destroying the bearings. I also fill the engine oil off the ramps and use the dip stick to gauge how much oil to add. Hood the dipstick vertically when reading the level and always check the oil in cold as heated oil expands and is always going to show higher reading than cold.

  • @NFlight
    @NFlight Год назад +2

    My only critique is how you observed the dipstick. Do not point it Up. It will lie to you because the oil is running down... Hold it DOWN and look for the wet edge at he top for better accuracy. That, and that was the trans stick. The Yellow one is for oil.

    Good job man! but next time make sure you check the motor oil. Also, remove the oil cap and stick before draining the oil. don't use a wrench for the oil filter, just hand tight.

  • @mrrayray2005
    @mrrayray2005 Год назад +1

    Another reset option is to just go to oil life, hit the right arrow and it gives you a reset prompt from there

    Great video but you misspoke when you said "Over torquing the drain bolt doesnt hurt anything"... Over torquing the drain bolt can strip the treads in the pan... that can be a nightmare.

    • @BtwilliasGarage
      @BtwilliasGarage  3 года назад +1

      That is true. I intended to come across as a couple of lbs won't hurt anything when I said "a little overtightening doesn't hurt anything". You are correct though, you definitely don't want it way over tight!

    High mileage oil don't you know that's a chevy?, you only need high mileage oil at 450,000 miles and beyond.
