David Draiman (the lead singer) is Jewish, he studied at religious school for years, and he deeply learned how to be a Cantor IE a religious singer for prayers and for reading the Torah, he even studied in Israel for a couple of years. Mind you even though he's a proud Jew he isn't the most observant.

My kids have been playing them for years. There early music i didn't care for to much. But since they came out withTHE SOUND OF MUSIC. I have been a big fan. The way DAVID DRAIMAN SINGS THE SONG IS MUCH MORE POWERFUL AND WITH MORE FEELING THAN THE ORIGINAL. Iam 63 years old. And i am always willing to give new music a try. Most people dont keep an open mind when they hear music or a group that they feel are to gar out there. And they really are missing out on some great music. I always keep an poen mind when hearing music. You never know when you are going to come across a group that really are good. Yry checking out A REASON TO FIGHT. OR THE SOUND OF SILENCE. Both are outstanding songs
