Continued best wishes for the best of healing Seth. I just did an injury test this morning after 3 days rest and I am still having some knee and hip joint pain. I also made a decision to run a half instead of a full marathon in October. That schedule will be much more manageable! All the best!

When doing head to head show battles, I don't care about the scores. We know who will win because you've already scored both shoes. What I'd like to see, is battles between two shoes for a specific purpose. Compare them to see which one is the better daily trainer, or the better tweener shoe. No need for scores. You just decide the winner for each category based on your experience and preferences. That's why we're here. Would also make these battles less predictable, and more fun and useful. Keep up the good work!

Seth, don't forget that it's people like you that motivate people like me and thousands like me to come and join the running community. And it's people like you that help people like me try and be the best version of themselves. So you have a gift far beyond how good an Athlete you are, and you are some Athlete.
The lows are more important than the highs, as they drive us forward and push us more to succeed. Let the recovery happen one day at a time, and show us the journey, because we can all learn more from the patience and discipline you show in your recovery, than you do in posting fast times. You will get there because you CAN. Take care.

Prayers 🙏🏼for you and everyone experiencing injuries/set backs.
I just pulled/strained my right hamstring this morning while doing some speed work. This was the first “real speed work” of my 16week marathon block, I’m in week 12 with 4 weeks to go (everything was going great!!) so I’m bummed out!! Hopefully just a minor niggle and will recover soon enough, staying away from running for next 3-4 days and starting therapy. Hope it’s a minor bump, and not looking at canceling just yet.

I was thinking the other day how weird it was that I missed seeing Seth drink his coffee in the morning... so it made me happy to see this little ritual again. It also felt strangely refreshing to see Seth's breath when he opened his car door at 3:15, I could almost feel the cold air in my lungs... but it'll be a couple months before I enjoy that sensation here in Wisconsin. I can only imagine what those people at 7:53 were thinking as they watched the little blue hooded man hobbling down the trail with a drone... if they only knew! Thank you Seth for making the effort to get out there and share the beauty with us!

You got this Seth... QD: Was bombing it down a steep decline at one of my last Spartan races and afterwards my knee blew up on me. Ended up with a pretty significant chondral defect underneath my patella and where it made contact with my lateral femoral condyle. It also resulted in some pretty significant bony edema. I've got 71 days left of 3 months off of running, it's not gonna be easy but it'll be worth it to get back out there running again.

Keep that positive attitude Seth! The injury will heal, don't rush it. As for me, I'm finally getting back to running after nearly 4 months of fighting with a persistent hip adductor strain that came about late last year, Finally found a good Orthopedist DR and PT who has needled (literally, dry needling works!) the source and I'm back to running. The rest of 2022 is dedicated to mitochondria building and then look out 2023. My plan is to be one fast 58yo runner!

I’ve had a hip pinch issue since a hilly LR I did last Sunday but I am trying to listen to my body as best I can…foam rolling/ band strengthening and I pushed the weeks workout back a day to give it extra time. Now the goal is to see if I can get back to full strength for next week Chicago is only 7 weeks out. Better to be under trained than over trained I know but I just want to be 100% ASAP! QD: I am injured right know. I have been injured since January of 2021, we have been in and out of doctors and just found the prombelm a few months ago. It was a labels tear in the hip with an overgrown bone causing the tears. Had surgery for it 2 weeks ago, where they shaved off both sides of the hip as well as repaired the labrum. So Adlai I am injured and will have even a few more months of recovery. The docs said 3-4 months so yeah, it sucks but I will get through it

  • @HamidRHariri

Just sharing my own experience and I am not a doctor but fractures need 6 to 8 weeks to heal before you can resume "normal" activities. Probably 12 weeks before you can start running (light volumes) and slowly ramp up from there. All the while you should have no pain higher than 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. Be patient with it and give your body time to heal itself. Hoping for your speedy recovery.

Yesterday I started a more intense strength training session and hopefully on Monday I'll start my jog/walk routine.

Qod: Unfortunately, I’m also dealing with an injury. I had a total knee replacement August the 2nd(17 days post op). Surgery went extremely well and the recovery is going just as well. Obviously, I will have to miss the Air Force Marathon next month, that I registered earlier in the year. It is tough to be sidelined and not being able to participate in something we love but we have to trust the process in our recovery.

QOD: currently not injured. Last injury came during my marathon training back in March and caused me to have to switch to the half marathon. It’s been a successful summer training season so far with some shorter faster races as well. But, winter is coming which means base building into another marathon training attempt for a spring marathon!

Of all the runners on RUclips, you seem to be always injured the most (and the most significant type of injury as well). Maybe you should reach out to a coach to get proper guidance. I get that you were a college runner, but that just means you are fast, not that you are a good at coaching or putting together a training block. Just food for thought. To me, it's hard to run a sub 2:19 when you are always injured.

I don't think "2 injuries in the last 3 years" tells the entire story or history of your injuries. There is no shame in self analysis or paying someone with extended knowledge to overlook a few things. Major corporations who consistently see annual growth do these things all the time. Not to mention professional athletes/coaches. Nothing wrong with growth, Seth.

I'm actually starting to enjoy the challenge of training. Injuries are no fun, but it's a great feeling when you reach the other side! :)

I have been dealing with some PF on my left heel. I have found it flares up more in my Hoka Clifton 7's (321 miles) and is not as bad when I run in my Original Saucony Shift's (89 miles). Getting some new Puma's next week. Hopefully that will allow me to retire my Hoka's.

Hi Seth. My name is Richard, a 53 year old runner from the Caribbean. As you, I'm dealing with my a stress fracture (tibial in my case) right now. It's my first serious injury as a runner, and it happened in my best physical running shape. Yesterday, I started using the crutches as asistance for walking as advised by the doctor. This injury triggered the following question: How do you deal with the mental state as a runner and the doubts if you can be able to run again ? In my case, I'm feeling very sad, lost and having doubts of my future as a runner because of this injury. Maybe this question leads to a "youtube episode" discussing ideas on how to deal with the mental health aspect (as a runner) that comes from being injured. Any suggestion is appreciated.

I can now walk without pain and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, I will hopefully resume light jogging within a few weeks. Those moments are always though mentally, and I'm trying to be hopeful and patient, your vlog helps :).
By the way, what kind of tools would you recommend to rehab and do some injury prevention on foot/ankle/calf ?

Good morning, DGR! Just checking in before I head to the track! Please tell us, Seth, whether you have some type of arrangement with the State of Colorado to capture and display its beauty? You are prompting me to go back, and check out the trail out The Continental Divide!
BTW, you captured another customer for BOBO's! I noticed them in the local Wal-Mart, and probably would have passed just based on price, except I ended up taking some home due to your videos!
QOD: I probably could write pages on my injury history. Suffice to say, the biggest thing bothering me in recent history is a problem(s) with my right foot/ankle, but it's probably the best it's been since I started up again two-three years ago!
    Let's Go, Let's GOOO!!!
