Letterpress Printing Hanukkah Cards on an Etching Press

Quick video showing how we print 2 color letterpress cards on our Etsy press. We waited about 5 days between colors, allowing the black frying pans to dry. These Holiday Latke Cards are one of our best sellers so we thought it would be fun to document making them!

Do etching presses normally come with that alignment mat type of thing that you have? I’m trying to find one!

And here I am 3 months after your post. Did you find out? I'm about to get a etching press and I want to do relief printing just like this but I'm not sure what black keys he has or thickness

Hey spofford please, if you can, enlighten us on what blanket setup you have..we want to do relief printing like this and are desperate to make this work as we are tapped out financially after trying a letterpress and now an etching press. A couple days before it arrives. We got the typical 3 blankets but read somewhere there is a blanket we should use like this.

Hi , my blanket set up is a rubber offset blanket, then the heavy wool blanket. These rubber blankets can be found on eBay under "offset rubber blanket", that's where I've picked them up before. Any thickness will work. Try and get one the size of your pressbed( if it's a bit larger they are easy to cut to size at home). Hope that helps. @@SpoffordPress I have seen every single one of your videos and appreciate your work and even the time you took to reply to this. I loved the video where you water colored the owl as that's something the wife is interested in doing. Your videos are some of the very few that shows relief letterpress type printing on an etching press and for as long as RUclips is around I'm sure for years your videos will be appreciated by people like us.
