  • As a veteran Skaven player from 6th ed. here's my take on the new skaven rules. Comments always appreciated. Broken up into 2 as my wife came in to tell me the dog has eaten a magnet!

Sounds like the dog is a squig? ;) Hope she is okay. Maybe good with magnets in her belly.. Just use some more to get her out?

I don't think the bell and furnace can actually join a unit, can they?

Yep, that's their purpose, see the dragged along rule.

@@MalignMusings it uses the movement characteristic, but it doesn’t join the unit. So buffs won’t be shared and charges will be rolled separately.

I see what you mean. Weirdly, rules as written, it seems the bell could be dragged along in a completely opposite direction to the unit dragging it... I'd expect this to be FAQed

Never give a dog chocalate, also its your responsibility not your "moron" dog's to make sure they dont eat things they shouldnt, which based on the first 20 seconds of this video appears to be something you and your wife are not very good at. Shouldnt normally have to explain why giving a dog even a small amount of chocalate is bad but in this case it seems a requirement. DO NOT give your dog a small piece of chocolate because now she/he is aware it is in the house and has more time to look for and try and get it than you have time to prevent. Most people with an IQ above 100 know that even worse than chocolate for a dog, would be magnets anywhere they can reach and chew on whatever (say plastic soldiers for fucking sake) has the magnet and accidentally ingest them. There is a relatively high chance that two neodynium magnets would cause a possible fatal intestinal blockage in any dog, cat or infant that ingests them and definitely require expensive surgery to remove them. Maybe you and your wife should find a new home for any mammal pets you have, get a goldfish and level up your pet care skills from there.

Yeah, she's a cavalier that normally doesn't chew, scratch or misbehave really, hence my surprise at two things in one day. It's been a few years before she picked up anything wierd (doesn't even chew on dog toys)
She stole a chocolate peanut from the floor, the magnets are stored where the kids can't get at them, and the models have the magnets hot glued to them so Christmas only knows how that got detached from the bottom of the base and fell on the floor as the models are certainly kept nowhere near anywhere she can reach.
Obviously I stopped recording and went on a magnet hunt to ensure it was just a bit of hot glue she had been chewing on, luckily we found it in the end, which saved a trip to the vets and a hefty bill.
Thanks for being so kind and understanding.
