    I’m from here. When I was little, I had a nightmare that scared me so badly that I still remember it and I’m now 52. It was the floodwaters pouring over the flood wall and me swimming/drowning searching for my mom and sister. 😩. I guess seeing the flood wall and river every day must have stuck in my little mind.

    The Ohio River will be raging over the weekend and into the first part of next week.
    Significant rainfall has impacted the watershed of the river from Pittsburg through eastern Kentucky. Totals over the last 24 hours (11 AM Thursday - 11 AM Friday) have ranged from 1 to 3 inches with higher amounts forecasted of an additional 1 inch.
    Flood warnings for the Ohio River and other tributaries have been issued through the weekend. Minor to moderate flooding will be possible if not likely through Tuesday or Wednesday.
    Here are some of the river levels from up to down river.
    Ohio River at Wheeling:Crest will be 39.7 feet 11 pm Saturday.Flood Impacts at Wheeling:39' The southern tip of Wheeling Island including Wheeling Downs Racetrack and Gaming and Wheeling Stadium are flooded.38' Portions of Jacob and Wood Streets, south of 43rd Street begin to flood. Wheeling island Casino has to be closed.37.7' Basement flooding begins in businesses along Main Street.36.6' Wheeling Downs Racetrack on Wheeling Island floods.36' Flooding begins in the vicinity or 25th and Market Streets, 34th and Market Streets, 36th and Chapline Streets in Wheeling. Water covers the lower parking lot at the Wheeling Island Casino.Ohio River at Moundsville:Crest will be 40.8 at 11 pm SaturdayFlooding Impacts at Moundsville:41' River rises to reach the railroad tracks in Moundsville in the 13th Street area.40' Some businesses in the North Plaza parking lot are affected.38' North Marshall Street in Bentwood, WV is closed with Rite-Aid, Taco Bell and KFC impacted.Ohio River at Marietta:Crest will be 38.4 at 1 pm SundayFlooding Impacts at Marietta:39' Pike street at Lafayette, Greene at Third Street, Jefferson Street at East Eight Street, Third Street betwee Butler and Church Streets, and Second Street at Wooster Street are all flooded.38' Elmwood Avenue at Ash, Hart, Pike and Charles Streets at Seventh Street, Church at Second Street, Butler at Fifth Street, Ohio Street at Second and Third Streets are all flooded.37' Hart Street at Ash and Fourth Streets, Stark and Jefferson Streets at Seventh Street, Fourth Street at Butler Street, Second and Third Streets at Church Street, Spike Streeet at Olney Street, Lafayette and Wayne Streets at Eighth Street, Greene Street at Fifth and Sixth Streets are flooded.36' Pike Street at the entrance to Phillips Elementary School, Elmwood Avenue and Hart Street start to flood. Eighth at Ohio and Stark Streets start to flood. A few homes are flooded on Annas Drive in Vienna West Virginia. Dave's Marina, Walnut Street and Scott Avenue in Belpre, Ohio, start to flood.36' Backwater effects will start to cause problems along the Little Kanawha River. Happy Valley Road in Happy Valley starts to flood.Ohio River at Belleville Lock & Dam:Crest will be 40.6 at 1 pm SundayFlooding Impacts at Belleville Lock & Dam:38' Route 124 towards Racine is flooded. Sections of Ohio State Route 248 at Sand Hill are flooded.35' Ohio State Route 124 is flooded north of Stiversville Road, at Rock Run, at Wells Run to Smith Ridge to Dewitts Run, at Forked Run, at Curtis Hollow Road and between Long Bottom and Shade River. Ohio State Route 124 near the Washington and Meigs county line.Ohio River at Racine Lock & Dam:Crest will be 45.5 at 7 pm SundayFlooding Impacts at Racine Lock & Dam:46' West Virginia Route 62 is flooded at Tombleson Creek at Larry's Locker. More areas along Ohio Route 124 from Minersville to Antiquity are flooded.44' West Virginia Route 62 is flooded just below Racine Lock at West Creek. More areas along Ohio Route 124 are flooded.42' Ohio Route 124 near Minersville is flooded.41' Ohio State Route 124 at Antiquity starts to flood. Areas of Ravenswood are flooded upstream from Racine Lock.Ohio River at Point Pleasant:Crest will be 45.2 at 7 am MondayFlooding Impacts at Point Pleasant:46' Route 35, 10 miles east of Point Pleasant is flooded. Locust Road in Henderson is flooded.45.2' Route 2 below Henderson and Salt Creek is flooded.45' West Virginia Routes 2 and 17 south of Point Pleasant are flooded.44.3' Old Route 35 above Henderson is flooded.44' Homes at the end of 2nd Street outside the flood wall in Point Pleasant are flooded. Little Kyger Gravel Hill Road at Kyger Creek is flooded.43.8' Water crosses Route 21, and 6 at Eight Mile Creek above Ambrosia.43.75' Route 30, and 62 near Rockcastle Creek, and Ambrosia is flooded.43.5' Route 33 at West Creek and Brinker Run between Vanadium and Letart is flooded. Sand Hill Road near Letart is flooded.43' Ohio Route 7 at Kyger Creek and Addison is flooded.42' The Little Kyger Road in Ohio is flooded.41' The Addison, Blaville Road in Ohio is flooded and low lying areas surrounding Point Pleasant and vicinity are flooded due to backwater.40' Low lying areas surrounding Point Pleasant and vicinity are flooded due to backwater. Also, the ampitheater lower pier is flooded and half way up the steps.Ohio River at Robert C. Byrd Lock & Dam:Crest will be 50.6 at 7am MondayFlooding Impacts at Robert C. Byrd Lock & Dam:52' Cultivated lands and low sections along the river on the West Virginia side of the river are flooded.50' Sections of Route 7 and portions of Gallipolis along the immediate river will flood. Also, bottom lands on the Ohio side of the river is flooded.49' Sections of Route 7 in Ohio at Teens Run, Chickamauga Creek, Kyger Creek, Clay Chapel, Clay School and just above Route 218 start to flood. Also, sections of Route 2 in West Virginia at Jerry's Run, the old Coast Guard Station and Glenwood start to flood.41' The Spruce Street Chickamauga Creek bridge is closed due to flooding of low areas around the bridge.Ohio River at Huntington:Crest will be 51.5 at 1 pm MondayFlooding Impacts at Huntington:52' Route 60 East above the Roby Road bridge and Riverside Drive is flooded.51' West Virginia Route 60 east, Main Street, above Pats Branch is flooded.50' West Virginia Route 2 at Glenwood is flooded.     The Flood Warning continues for
    the Scioto River at Piketon
    * until further notice.
    * At 11 PM the stage was 20.6 feet.
    * Flood stage is 20 feet.
    * Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
    * The river will continue to rise to near 30 feet by Sunday evening.
    The river will then begin falling, but remain above flood stage.
    Additional rises are possible thereafter.
    * At stages near 30 feet, many areas of Piketon become flooded with
    serious flooding occurring in some portions of Pike and Scioto
    counties.

    The Flood Warning continues for
    the Ohio River at Portsmouth
    * until further notice.
    * At 11 PM the stage was 51.1 feet.
    * Flood stage is 50 feet.
    * Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
    * The river will remain near 51 feet through Friday morning before
    falling below flood stage late Friday night. The river will then rise
    again to near 58 feet by Tuesday morning.
    * At stages near 60 feet, the low area along Main Street in Fullerton,
    Ohio becomes flooded. More homes are affected by flood waters in
    South Portsmouth. Long stretches of Route 52 are flooded.
