Sweet! And very clever solutions to improve aerodynamics, range, and powering the RV when camping. I take it that you're thinking of getting an F-150 Lighting or a Rivian to tow it, Laycee! I just hope they eventually make a smaller EV version, about the size of a TAB 320 S, just big enough for two.
I agree, Mark. Yes, it sounds like they will be making multiple sizes and this is the halo version. I'm excited to see how the brand grows and expands its lineup. I have a Rivian R1T Max Pack on order which will be the perfect vehicle to tow the L1 :) Here is a video with the exact specifications: ruclips.net/video/CLO5UThc8GQ/видео.html Thanks for watching Mark!

This is not a 4 season RV as stated by the CEO during the tour. This is a prototype. Highly detailed specifications will arrive next year before production begins.
We aren't particularly concerned with any elements of a prototype because we know there will be changes based on durability testing of the pre-production fleet. -Producer Tim
Do they have plans to replace the glass with ALON? I think this change will definitely lighten the weight as transparent aluminum is lighter than glass.
We have only experienced this prototype and are not versed on materials finality for next year's production models. Thank you for watching and commenting. -Producer Tim
Utilization of vertical space is the function of cabinets. The bags hold items and can be stowed up high, utilizing vertical space. The items allocated to the bags will differ from upper cabinets, but the result is stowage capability.

I am really interested in this for its evolution This first model is a little to generic and cold looking interior and im past the age where i want to turn a sofa into a bed every night. I think once they make this larger and more "homey" inside it will appeal better. but LOVE the concept and the exterior. I am curious how it handles privacy......

@@leomajor88 nothing to do with that. The British army found that if the tow vehicle loses traction while turning but the trailer maintained traction it would push the tow vehicle over , it was with 101 forward controls and Sankey trailers I think
To all who buy this beautiful hunk, just consider the amount of prayer and good luck involved to drive up mountains or off-road, basically anywhere in blm, kind of what campers were solely intended to do. EIther way still a very cool design
@@MissGoElectric I think a more compact off roading version would be beneficial to expand the market. I look forward to seeing the advancements made within this technology in the new age. It's refreshing to see such innovation.
Not going to work as designed unless you want to be too close to nature's flying bugs the door needs to be configured differently, as well as the rear awning and windows.
It does have storage. Ben talked about it in this video. Most of it is tucked under the front bed and can be accessed outside in an area toward the front/tongue.
How long until Rich Rebuilds buys a 1990's pop-up camper and puts some salvaged batteries and an electric motor in it? 😂 Lightship might even be worth it for non-EV trucks. Diesel isn't free, and towing a camper sucks down a lot more fuel. Folks already pay $80k for a nice travel trailer and over $100k for a diesel motorcoach. Lightship has the utility of being a power station at home unlike those other RV, which at best are a backyard bunkhouse you power from your home, and at worst, leak through the A/C hole in the roof!
We will definitely be using ours as a source of home energy. How awesome would it be to capture 7-10kWh per day from the sun and have backup power whenever the grid goes down? We love the value proposition and the portability. Most folks install those systems into their homes and they have to buy+install again when they move to a new home.
We also produced and published a highly detailed feature video on the Pebble. Pebble is smaller with lower battery capacity and it does not offer the aerodynamic efficiency of the L1 because it does not compress vertically. Pebble offers dramatically different interior aesthetic and layout. Pebble touts remote control and automated hitch docking and a lower starting price.
Lightship has more battery capacity, more solar, a better aerodynamic profile for longer towing range, and more interior space. With every design and engineering decision there is a trade off. We are lucky to have smart and dedicated teams making differentiated EV RVs which suit different lifestyles and preferences. By sure to subscribe for more videos with updates from both Pebble and Lightship. -Producer Tim

I disagree. The bags attached to the rails are not a replacement for overhead cabinets. That’s the trade off for the low profile while towing.

Such a breakthrough for the American design language.

outstanding design and engineering. I would like to buy one.

The British army tried powered trailers but found they would push the towing vehicle on its side when turning on slippery ground ,, just saying
Underlying technology has evolved. The failure of one engineering team does not indicate physical impossibility. -Producer Tim
@@MissGoElectric yea we've learnt about this modern technology being so brilliant 🔥
It has a really low center of gravity because of batter placement, plus in camping mode it’s even lower. It’ll be more difficult for it to tip over.

Obviously not designed for the UK roads where something around a third of the size would be more appropriate.

An electric RV without steering wheel. Clearance is dangerously low, dont expect to drive on mountain trails like seen on the video simulations.
