  • In this video, I review the Minolta MC W.Rokkor-HH 35mm f/1.8 lens illustrating some of its qualities with fitting sample photos. The lens was first introduced in 1968 and released in three different versions over time, all sharing the same lens design of 8 elements in 6 groups. It is a "character" lens which is not particularly sharp and lacks some contrast when shot wide open, but brings about a special look and quality. Once stopped down, sharpness and contrast increase significantly and spherical aberrations and glow are reduced as well. Except for the rubberized focusing ring, the lens is made entirely out of metal and glass and weighs over 400 grams.
