I saw that 2016 tour with Peter Gabriel & Sting, and it's still a source of great sadness to me that they've never released a live album or a concert film. It was such a great show. Meanwhile, I had the pleasure of saying hello to Tony and hearing him play bass and Stick with the BEAT tour a few days ago. Absolutely amazing show.
Same. I saw them in Camden and thought there needed to be a live album, but I also assume they wouldn't be able to because of multiple recorded companies.
16yo me, in 1994, read about this in Bass Player Magazine at Waldenbooks at the mall. Always loved trying to memorize tabs so I didn't have to buy magazines, too, lol
I did something similar with guitar chords for songs I liked in Australia. Pre-internet. Magazines and song music books were expensive to buy as a young kid in the 1980s Much easier today to access music
Rick you keep complaining about not having a higher percentage of your primary channel subscribers as subscribers here. It looks identical. You need to change your background here, the format and so on. At least put in an intro and outro that highlights this is RB2. Rename it RB2. Why not?
The bass as a hammered dulcimer... Love it!

I wish they would release a live album as well. I saw them play in Tahoe. Incredible concert!
"So" is such a fantastic album, and the bass on "Big Time"....does it get any funkier than that? Just awesome to hear this story.
I feel like I learned a lot about Tony Levin when Bill Bruford used him as the example of a total, consummate professional in his autobiography.
Had the opportunity to meet Tony when he and Pat Mastelato toured with the California Guitar Trio on the CGT+2 album. Sweet guy.
Rick is a national treasure; actually strike that. He's a treasure for the world....
Indeed, and I would expand that to he's a treasure to the entire Universe.
Amazing! Thank you! 🍷
I'm envisioning a new social media trend because of this interview.
He was great with Peter Gabriel at Arena in Verona!
When interview with Les Claypool?
PRIMUS SUCKS!!!
@@Typical.Anomaly Indeed.
Tony Levin is one of the most overlooked bassists ever. I personally don't think a bass has ever sounded better than on 'So'
He may be overlooked by the public, but not by us musicians! Nothing but respect for this dude!
Imagine having a member of King Crimson, not to mention all his other accolades, sitting in your home studio! 😂😂😂 Epic.

I did the same!
BOC did this in 1981 in concert during the bass solo
Tony is the man
Saw the thumbnail and, for a second, thought G. Gordon Liddy had come back to play bass. 🤪
Please Rick, please do a "what makes this song great" to "Marsh Mellow Field" by Kings X!
What song are they talking about?
Plasti-dip can really do ANYTHING :)
🤘
Sonic Youth did that on their guitars, probably not as well.
Wow, playing the bass with drum sticks.
I have the funk fingers and they are very hard to play.
My trombone mutes are dipped in that tool dip so they don’t scratch the bell taking it in and out.

These are shorter clips taken from the longer interviews on the main channel.
@@brianrossiter2547then it just needs to be a playlist on main account maybe?
He's not complaining. It's a plea to subscribe.
Tony: “Peter what should I do with my hair?”
Peter: “Time to shave. Shave it off, it off” 🐑
👀👍🇮🇪⚓
Plasti-dip!
What not interview Bill Laswell. A legend.
Last second says 'treble all the way off', thats a big revelation as to why I never sounded close.
