Looks great. I really enjoyed watching this project come together.
I'm so pleased that you're going to build one of these for each of your viewers. I'll be over to collect mine on Monday. Quick as you can now!
10/10 for every aspect. Design, vices, finish, drawers, video editing, mistakes showing.
Your shop is just amazing now. Good job
One for each of my viewers..... You're funny :)
Awesome bench Alain! That baby will last a lifetime for sure!
Congratulations on a job very well done. That's a workbench that will easily be a family heirloom.
well done Alain thats a great bench
I love your use of the recycled wood. I thought at first this was crazy, but it turned out very well.
That came out great Alain! That should last several lifetimes.
holy cow, that's one heck of a workbench, guess I'll just have to add that to my already a mile long to-do list.
Another tour de force. Really enjoyed this series.
great workbench not boring at all
Congratulations on the workbench! Not boring at all thank you for sharing your work. I love that it is movable
It's very reassuring to see someone as talented as you making mistakes like cutting something short or messing up an edge by drilling too close. I've already got all that stuff down! All I've got to work on is doing all the stuff that you do correctly! I really like your work and your attitude. You are amazing!
Thank you.
We all make mistakes, most just don't admit it. Someone said to me once, they're no mistake in woodworking only firewood ;)
love the workbench. and even love more you show the flaws you make, but show them anyway. That is real woodworking, there is always a little mistake somewhere....
Great job. Love the drilling jig for dog holes.
And yet it's so simple
Dude! Amazing amazing build! Great skill!
I absolutely loved this series and I am extremely grateful for the work that you put into it. Thank you Alain :)
Really, really nice and beautiful work. Like very much. Congratulations.
Luís.
I've enjoyed the entire series, thanks for sharing.
That was an awesome job. Thx for sharing the build with us.
Beautiful. I love all your videos. Thanks so much. Great job.
you say you hope you didnt bore us because of the video, but its completely the opposite, great video!
Great build =) Lots of clever ways to use up scrapwood and get the most out of your wood, yet still get an awesome result =)
Nice project and video!
the workbench came out fantastic
Thanks for sharing this build Alain, I enjoyed it!
Thank you for an excellent build and a well made video.
Great job. that is a monster of a bench and it fits so nicely in your shop.
Outstanding video series and a truly impressive work bench.
Bravo, Alain! You are the master. :)
Great workbench Alain!
Alain, thanks for sharing ... If youtube would allow it, then i would have given two "thumbs up"
Awesome work and can't wait for more!
Great work bench! Lots of great ideas for me to upgrade mine.
Nice heavy bench, perfect for any project.
So nice. That it's one sturdy bench.
Great videos, and you made good use of a lot of scrap wood.
Wonderful workbench. I hope you enjoy using as I enjoyed watching you make it.
Fan-bloody-tastic! Love it!
Congratulations on finishing it! As always it's been awesome to watch, I can't wait to see what you build on that bench now.
Perfect work and pleasure to watch :-)
Another great project Alain! Your videos are always very enjoyable to watch. I watch many of them over and over :^) I recently completed my flip top cart that you provided a while back. Many complements on the design which I pass the credit on to you. Presently I have my miter saw on one side and use the other for a small assy. table. Working in 1/2 of our garage it seems to come in very handy. Thanks again!
Top bench. ! excellent build .
Good job. I can see this work bench surviving a 100 years maybe even doomsday :)
Those trusty 1-2-3 blocks are great for the workshop.
Yes they are, I use them on almost all my projects.
Turned out great!
fantastic bench!
Great bench. I would bore the dog holes deeper though, so you can clamp thinner stock with them still out of the way of a plane, etc.
For that kind of work I use planing stop (www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=69837&cat=1,41637)
Excellent work.
Nice job Alan !
An excellent job.
fantastic job
amazing looks perfekt.. i like the vidios that you made!!!
I don't know how you do it. I'd be too tempted to fill the logo with black dye and then sand the horizontal to bare wood and then put a finish on it. On a different note, I'm looking forward to getting a shop of my own. It may not be as big as yours for a long time, but it'll be mine. :D Thanks for the videos!
Great video!
good job thanx for shareing this video
great work. keep it up
very nice! i like your videos
You are rightAlain, that is a dream workbench with all that you need! I especially like the old style look of the casters and your double use tail vice!!
So are we done with the shop for awhile ?
Will you now have time to show us the old shop you were going to make into a craft room for Renee?
For now the old shop is still half full of junk. Renée has cleaned it up a litle last week, and it shows :) As fer her craft room, it's more her stamp room, it our daughet old room.
As for the shop, no I still have more episodes of building stuff for it, I won't spoil it, so stay tuned to see them :)
Great set of videos inspired me to finally make one for myself. noticed a tool you use to mark the draw holes 17.24 what's it called, please. keep up the great work.
Here's the link of what I bought www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=58864&cat=1,180,42311,58864
Great job....
Another fantastic video, thank you. Don't bench dogs need to be able to almost disappear into the worktop? What if you want to work with thin stock and you don't want the dogs protruding over the wood...? EDIT: I just read about the planing stops.
Thank you Alain, all the effort was worth it!
A lot of people are asking about the way I've install my bench dogs. Personally I love this technique, even if the dusts is filling up inside the holes. I have to clean them with compresed air and the vacuum. But I know that the dogs will always be at the right height when I put them in one hole. I don't want to have through holes because then the top drawers will end up filling up with dust.
very well done
Excellent...
Cheers...
Tres, tres, tres bien! Tout ce qu'il me faut dans mon atelier...Merci...rr(in France donc, en francais, lol) cheers
Very nice👍👍
Alain, what is that paper (red paper) you used in the glueups? It looks like Rosin paper but it looks really shiny on one side like it's waxpaper?
I bought a roll of paper from the butcher shop. So one side is covered with a sort of waxpaper and not the other.
Fantastic! I will have to visit the butcher. Thanks!!
I like the method for making wider boards with the puzzle piece form... how did you make the jig for that?
I make the jig on episode 114 (ruclips.net/video/O2LbdWssCaw/видео.html)
Good job
Nice bench. Drill all the way through bench dogs are designed to push down flush. Or did you not have enough overhang?
The problem is those dogs are really tight. I would need to drill right through holes and I don't want that, the drawers will get full of dusts.
Alain Vaillancourt I have the same ones 13/16 hole works good.
Great project, looks good!!! What kind of pants are you wearing?
Those are Herock pants and I love them. I also have 2 pairs of shorts the same brand. I received the pants as a christmas gift last year, I always wear them they're so useful when I work inside the shop, with all the pockets.
you are awesome
good job.
Are you not going to use the sliding table saw feature any longer, cause it seems the new bench is in the way?
Yes I'm still using it, but I have to move the workbench out of the way.
What brandof carpenter pants are you wearing here, i cant seem to find any here in Colorado.
Herock.
You should be able to find it on line. I bought mine, or best they were christmas present, at Lee Valley search Herock pants
what is the jig you use to get the measurements for the bottoms?
here're the link of it www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=32585&cat=1,43513,43553
thank you
This wood be a good addition to the Workbench Smackdown thread on Lumberjocks.com.
looks nice... and yes it seems to be pretty stable... but monster... only the size, not the looks of course :D
The only problem I can find with your work bench, is, It's in your workshop and not MINE. As for it being a boring tape, far from it, I enjoyed every Minute.
200 hours? 1080p? It's like 60-70 Gb raw video?
Actually it's more 177gb
very nice thanks for shaareing ehhh
Xlnt. Thanks
Alain. Do u have the plans to share?
Looks great!
Yes, just go to my website and in the plans section you'll find the plan I've used to buld my workbench.
You scratched the top already :(
It didn't took long and it was all scratched. But it's a workbench after all.
I'm so pleased that you're going to build one of these for each of your viewers. I'll be over to collect mine on Monday. Quick as you can now!
10/10 for every aspect. Design, vices, finish, drawers, video editing, mistakes showing.
