Roe I hope your medical issues work out OK and yoi’re back on the road soon. Something I used to do when I traveled for work was to just pay out of pocket for prescriptions, but mine were cheap. It might be worth checking in to . Keep the good stuff coming.
Prayers for you guys. We are navigating this whole health care thing now so we know the delicate balance between cost of premiums and health care needs you guys are facing.
Some insurance tips (I work for one of the major companies). Freestanding facilities are always cheaper than hospital prices for imaging and procedures. This is because the insurance will still apply their”discount” to the bills even if it’s all going to your deductible. Good luck and I hope you get answers quickly! Also for open enrollment, if you are adding prescription coverage see if you can make sure you get one with a mail order option because you can get 3 months with of meds at a time that way, which can really reduce the hassle. Also, you can often change the shipping address if needed.
I agree. Just ask the doctor for a prescription for the test then call the facilities for cost quotes. I good example is my wife and I both had ultrasounds of our gallbladder, her's was done by a offsite facility and cost around $280. I was having a gallbladder attach and wasn't in a negotiating position therefore had it done at the hospital which cost around $1200. Have also done this for MRI's CAT scans with substantial savings. When you gets tests at the hospital, you are paying for the overhead.
Just found your channel a few days ago, and we love you already. First of all, hope all of Roe's tests and medical screenings go well. Second, we really appreciate the style in which you give information! It's easy for newcomers to understand and approachable for those who may already know most of the information because you two are just so pleasant and relatable. Third-you're just so sweet and likable, very much our kind of ppl. My partner and I are planning to switch to full-time living (with a dog and a cat) by February-yet we don't have an RV..or a truck..or anything-but our lease is up at the end of February, and we are self-employed so this is our goal. We are hoping to outright purchase our tt or 5th wheel and at least half pay for a truck for it-but want to get the RV first, then make sure the truck we get is adequate. We may even decide to have a channel (I've had one before, but temporarily shut it down because of our online businesses and didn't want any distractions there, as one of our new businesses will have a chancel as well). If we do decide to chronicle our journey, you are our role models. Lots of love, sending healing energies your way.
Life throws you curves, and I'm glad you got the help you needed. Take care of yourselves to be able to take care of each other. Medical coverage is my biggest fear when RVing full time. Thank you for sharing your private medical conditions. It's not that we want to know everything, but we, your fans, are concerned. God Bless!
Always keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. No matter what life throws your way, hold both of your heads up high and know that you can make it through anything. Great video on insurance, it's so important to have it because everything is so expensive now a days. I hope any pray you are ok Roe . Keep the faith and run your race. You both take care and God Bless You Both and fur babies.
Roe, you guys need to look at a PPO plan, this allows you to travel and be seen by a doctor anywhere you may need it. HMO’s are dedicated to one area that you pick. Also Walgreens drug stores will allow you to get prescriptions from any Walgreens anywhere. As full time RVer’s this is what we use. So hopefully this helps you.
@@rvhome5599 Thanks guys! Hope all is well or at least getting better! My wife works for a local Medical Group doing Insurance precertifications. She works on behalf of the patient to get Insurance Companies approving medical procedures and surgeries. It's a nightmare what insurance companies will do to try to keep from paying claims.
Just a few things - I had a slight heart murmur that docs mentioned in passing for many years, but then it turned into a big issue. Finally got tests done and discovered it was a major leaky mitral valve and it had to be replaced or repaired - I could wait until heart started to enlarge or do it now. I was feeling pretty healthy for a 50 something year old, very active, so I decided to go for it. I got it repaired, life back to close to normal immediately.... but in process we found out the cause of all my other "ailments", I have lupus. That doesn't go away... Thank heavens we had good insurance (military) that has covered everything. Insurance is SO important. Just because you think you are young and healthy doesn't mean something ugly can happen. Not trying to scare you, just saying you MUST have insurance, good insurance so you never have to turn down treatment due to cost.
One option for filling routine medications is, as Jaegre noted below, to have them mail 3 months at a time. If they mail them to your family's address then have your family mail them to your location. It helps to keep a 2 to 4 weeks back-up on hand. Re Radiology studies: Freestanding imaging clinics will often negotiate a cash discount upfront. The worst thing that could happen is they would say no. Call multiple places for pricing till you find one that will work with you. Another thing to keep in mind is many times there is a radiologist charge to interpret the study. Ask if the interpretation is included in the price. "Bundled" prices include the study and interpretation and saves you money. This can save you hundreds if not a thousand dollars. All the best in your health pursuits.
Your both in my prayers, may your test and procedures Roe be good news and a positive result. Your channel introduced me to RV living and in as much as I want to get out there, I also hope to meet and be neighbors with y'all, somewhere for a time. Take Care
Sorry you are having health problems. Hope your doc gets to the bottom of the issue. I have several health problems requiring medications including pain meds. I hope we can find a way around so we can fulltime some day!
We’re in the same boat! You’re younger than us but we aren’t retired so we have to figure out insurance too. We use a co-op with a higher deductible too but pretty affordable and covers wellness checks too. We also have a small plan that helps cover a little of the deductibles for accidents and emergency room stuff. On top of that we have a small life insurance plan that covers a you know what. We do have a prescription that we fill every 90 days. Walmart without insurance and generic is super cheap. If you like I can forward the link or the name of the insurance agent that helps us. She’s so awesome! Good luck!
We are not full timers but because we travel for 3-6 months per year we use Costco for our medication requirements. We have found that Costco is cheaper and their many outlets are usually within a short drive or on our route as we travel. They all have access to our current prescriptions. Meds, food and gas at one stop with rv friendly parking lots make it a "no brainer". Wishing you well!
Glad I have VA benefits. It covers me through out the country. Also Look into CVS Pharmacies. You can fill prescriptions anyplace in the country if you call the place that the prescription is filed with. Hope everything goes well enjoy you guys.
Some plans have 90 day supply options to pickup maintenance meds at certain national chains, I hope you find a good plan. If not, GoodRx offers discounts, and Walmart has a discounted drug list. You can have the RX transferred from pharmacy to pharmacy as you move states in most cases. It is usually easiest to transfer between chain pharmacies but you can do both.
Sorry to hear about your R fever, my wife has it too. Her first attach was when she was 18, it caused her to develop St. Vitus’ dance to the extreme of she couldn’t walk without help and most people couldn’t understand her speech. From the first sign of it to almost total inability to take care of herself was a span of about 3 weeks. Luckily medications brought her back to normal in just a few days once the doctors got her diagnosed. The next attack happened when she was 28 and it attacked her mitral heart valve. It caused scaring of the valve which started shrinking it, the doctors performed a mitral balloon valvuloplasty just before her 29th birthday. It lasted about 3 years and her cardiologist suggested valve replacement. At 32 she had the valve replaced with a bi-leaf titanium valve. She’s had it now for over 10 years with no complications other then being tired of hearing the ticking in her head every now and then. I’ve grown accustomed to hearing it knowing that as long as I can hear it then her heart is still beating. Don’t let this make you nervous, I just wanted to share and let you know that someone watching your channel deals with this too.
Hey guys so sorry that Roe is going through so much at this time. I have many medical issues and want to travel myself but can’t go on the road with all the medical trouble I have. I’ve had a liver transplant and I’m on tons of medications. I’m also disabled and do well with SSDI. Medicare and a supliment insurance. I suggest you get a good plan for Roe and a good medication plan as well. Plus use the app called good RX it saves me a lot over what my insurance would cover. Don’t tell your Dr. your on the road this way most insurance company’s cover out of area emergency’s if your vacationing. So you won’t have to go home. I wish you all the best and hope everything works out for you. Mark Kelley
Thoughts and prayers that it is nothing for you Roe. Very fortunate that you have been able to plan the next year for healthcare coverage that will take care of the less urgent issues.
I hope everything checks out ok, guys. Healthcare can be expensive in America. They do have healthcare for RVers and goes across state lines. As you get “older” you might think about changing your coverage from catastrophic coverage to something more affordable (as you need prescriptions, check ups, mammograms, colonoscopies, etc.).
Roe and David, you can delay your travels any time you need to if your health is concerned - I doubt anyone would find any fault with you for that. Now, that being said, you are both young and healthy, and while I'm sure you'd both rather be on the road to another place, taking time to just slow down and take care of yourselves like this is important as well. It sounds like Roe's new Dr has her best interests in mind and wants to keep her healthy and whole, and in the end, that's probably the best outlook and most important one. Your health is as important to you as it is to those of us that follow you, so you need to take care of yourselves!
I had a lot of strep throat infections when I was a kid. Always took antibiotics because of the fear of rheumatic fever. Hope everything works out. Better insurance is a smart move.
On the topic of prescriptions: check out Kroger's Rx Savings Club. I paid $72 annual fee to cover my wife and myself. In this club, the drug prices are dramatically lower than with insurance coverage. I'm on one that only cost $18 / 3 months on insurance. But it's free in the club. About the cyst, if it changes or starts to hurt, get it removed. I had one on the back of my neck for around 30 years. Suddenly, an abscess formed over it and grew to soft ball size in 3 days. If that had ruptured inside my neck, that could have become serious fast.
Husband Lewis. AP kids all have the same tummy. Cardi, tum, RF; more family than I thought. Thank you for inviting me in, I'm very glad to have met you. The setting is inclusive and intimate, and the information is a kindness. Please, please be well, I just met you. So, yes, terrifying, too, just like love. Happy Halloween!
In Canada, basic health insurance coverage is a provincial jurisdiction. I am not talking about prescriptions or psychiatriac services, ambulances glasses or dental. I am only talking about routine doctors visits, hospital services, emergency, operations that kind of thing. The premiums can be built into the income tax system (as it is in Nova Scotia where I live) or it can be monthly premiums paid by the individual or in whole or in part by the employer if it is part of the benefit package at the workplace. The real kicker is that to retain your medical coverage every province has a residency requirement. Most of them are 6 months. So for me, to be covered under the provincial medical plan I have to be able to prove that I have been physically present in the province for at least 180 days of every year. Every five years I can request an exemption if for example I am going to be travelling the world for longer than a 6 month stretch. For me to "follow the sun" in an RV for 12 months is just not possible since I have to be in Nova Scotia for at least 6 months a year.
I work in a hospital. With the pandemic ramping up they are slowing down the elective procedures to clear space, our Covid admissions have gone up ten fold in the last month and a half. Get done what you can now. A endoscopy is no biggie. Keep healthy and safe.
Covid is real but covid is a political farce used for Globalists to gain power. Ignore covid and stab a doctor in the heart when possible if they mention covid. Period.
@@Terry_Aki Just what they need during a personal medical crisis, someone spouting a political conspiracy theory, much less hatred for doctors just doing their jobs. Do you really expect doctors to be silent about the biggest medical crisis of the last 100 years, just because it interferes with your political agenda? Troll.
Buy a policy that has out of pocket maximum like they have done. $10K should not bankrupt anyone when people are willing to pay for big screen TVs, the latest iphones, and so forth. You just have to figure out what is most important to you.
Hey guys just watched the video. First CVS with transfer all your scripts all over the usa. Second till you have prescriptions plan med RX app helps alot.
Hey guys. Appreciate all you do and share with all of us. I was a Pharma Rep for 24yrs and have a thought on your healthcare. 1st, if it were me I would not see a general practitioner especially with the issues you have I would see an Internist. Not that GP's can't handle the issue it's an internist is more specialized. There's a lot of difference in GP, IM and FP(general practitioner, INTERNAL medicine, Family Practice dr). An IM ususlly only sees patients who are 21 and above. Some will see 18yr olds but not all of them. The GP and FP see from birth to death. So you say that's good. Not exactly. IM's only care for adults which allows them to be more focused on adults and adult issues. Is you are having female issues an OBGYN is your best caregiver. They are very familiar with the female body and understand more about how it works and functions. I know it adds another expense however, it is your life we are talking about. Also as for your prescriptions most all big box Pharmacies can transfer your script to a store near you no matter where you are for you to pick up. Example: A script you dropoff at a Walmart to fill in Indiana can be transferred very simply to a Kroger or Ralph's or Publix or Albertsons Pharmacy or to a local Pharmacy in say Montana with just a call from one pharmacist or pharmacy tech to another. Then when you need another refill you just find a pharmacy tell them what Rx you need and where it was last filled and they will call and have it ready for you. Pretty simple.
I don't know if you follow on utube creativity rv. She has a lot of info in a book she wrote about health care. Hope this might help. Prayers to you both.
Some states offer free insurance if you have state I.D. in that state if you make under a certain amount a month, they go month by month, if you go to high in pay one month n have it they drop you, if you fall under the max amount you can get it again I have Az state residency, n they have free insurance, it use to be like you got to make under 1200 or 1300 a month n you get it, i only work for money here n there n there are months each year i can get it, or if i need it i just take off some more work for money if i been working a lot n making good money while i have some money saved up to get me through those months, at temps n day labor work places you can work a few days a week or 2 weeks a month if there is work there n take off the rest so you dont make to much, once you get your free doctor stuff done go back to fulltime work I have stomach n intestine problems also n so do many Americans, eating healthier n not eating some evil destructive food helps, green tea n sprite n 7 up helps settle them down at times, dont drink other kinds of soda n no coffee cause it messes them up at times Also people are possessed by different kinds of glutton demons n other demons n they cause a lot of health issues, i am still getting demons cast out of me, the more certain kind of demons get cast out of me the more my health heals up, also the more i change my bad eating habits into good ones the more i get healed up, also Jesus n prayer helps a lot
Would a diagnosis under your current plan be considered a pre-existing condition under the new plan? I don't know the answer to that but it would be a concern and something to maybe look in to..? Good thoughts and prayers that everything is okay. Love watching your videos. Please take care.
Last week, the President signed an executive order protecting us regarding preexisting conditions...not sure the regular news media covered that fact...but it is indeed fact
It doesn't matter at the current time. Discriminating against pre-existing conditions became illegal with the passage of the ACA, also known as Obamacare. Lawsuits to reverse that are currently underway with the full support of the current administration. As for being protected by an executive order in addition as mentioned by Wonderfully Beautiful, that is wonderful if true, but is unnecessary and has no effect. ACA is already the law of the land, you can't be denied coverage for pre-existing conditions. An executive order can be canceled by a stroke of the pen by this or any following president. A law, such as the ACA, cannot. You can be pretty sure the executive order will remain in place through at least election day, I guess, as trying to fix a polling problem is surely why it was created last week if Wonderfully Beautiful is correct. After that, I'd imagine it would disappear pretty quickly if any lawsuit to overturn Obamacare succeeds with the current administration in place. Time will tell, betting on what will actually happen on any given day in 2020 is risky. Crazy year. So, get onto a good health plan the minute your open enrollment period begins, is my advice to Roe and David..
How do full timers who take Hydrocodone or Oxycontin handle these scrips? I have spinal stenosis, scoliosis, reconstructed ankle/foot(car accident) which I take Hydro and Oxy for to be able to lead a limited active life. Would I have to come back home every month just to get refills? Thanks!
Much of a person's health issues are from your family genetics and lifestyle...be wary of doctors though do your own research before seeing them...you would be surprised that they may not know some things your research taught you...many a doctor's tools come down to their prescription pad...lol...not always the best course of action for you...it is always good to get an annual physical regardless of your age...as for cost sometimes if you are uninsured it is cheaper to pay out of pocket sometimes not depends on the doctor...some have a heart others don't:)
I know what the results of rheumatic fever are as my father inlaw suffered from it from a teenager. Please don’t let insurance be the reason for your non care👍🏻✅😷.
Whatever is going on, know that both Old and New Testaments agree...that by the Stripes on our Messiah's back, we are healed! First and foremost look to Him in all things. My wife Carrie and I will agree with you in prayer for God's divine direction, provision, and manifestation of your healing in the Wonderfully Beautiful and all Powerful name of Yeshua (Jesus' Hebrew name)!

Healthcare here in America is terrible....! Best wishes to good news about your health Roe!!
I hope all the test go well 😊
Get your medical subscriptions through Sam's Club they are all over the country. A Sam's membership is a great thing to have when traveling.
Wishing you improving health. I haven't seen a few videos and missed the name change from Jenny to Roe, it was a little confusing.
Troll.
@@EfficientRVer ...just what we need a patient named Hybrid Life bringing us medical and political advice.
Sending prayers and love to you both always.... 🐇🐇🐈🐈🐕❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The health care system in the USA just sucks. The potential for personal bankruptcy even with insurance is just wrong. Good luck to you Roe
Hey. I haven't watched you guys in a little while. It's freaking me out that Jenny's name is now Roe? What's the story there?
I thought I was crazy and remembering her name wrong!
Sending good thoughts and prayers for your health and wellness.
No, you can have your scripts filled at a huge discount store. We can get them at any location.
Prayers to you both.
is it Ro or Jenny? im getting confused
Some states offer free insurance if you have state I.D. in that state if you make under a certain amount a month, they go month by month, if you go to high in pay one month n have it they drop you, if you fall under the max amount you can get it again
I have Az state residency, n they have free insurance, it use to be like you got to make under 1200 or 1300 a month n you get it, i only work for money here n there n there are months each year i can get it, or if i need it i just take off some more work for money if i been working a lot n making good money while i have some money saved up to get me through those months, at temps n day labor work places you can work a few days a week or 2 weeks a month if there is work there n take off the rest so you dont make to much, once you get your free doctor stuff done go back to fulltime work
I have stomach n intestine problems also n so do many Americans, eating healthier n not eating some evil destructive food helps, green tea n sprite n 7 up helps settle them down at times, dont drink other kinds of soda n no coffee cause it messes them up at times
Also people are possessed by different kinds of glutton demons n other demons n they cause a lot of health issues, i am still getting demons cast out of me, the more certain kind of demons get cast out of me the more my health heals up, also the more i change my bad eating habits into good ones the more i get healed up, also Jesus n prayer helps a lot
Vinny says for that cyst , watch Dr. Pimple Popper on U-Tube . They are the best !
Thanks!
We're not sure as we don't have a need for those medications. That is something you'd need to speak to your doctor about.
Wow we really need Medicare for all in this country now! $90/month for health insurance that covers next to nothing, that's horrible.
❤ and🙏🏽 to all of you🐶🐈🐈🐰🐇
I know what the results of rheumatic fever are as my father inlaw suffered from it from a teenager. Please don’t let insurance be the reason for your non care👍🏻✅😷.
Scary Halloween topic
Whatever is going on, know that both Old and New Testaments agree...that by the Stripes on our Messiah's back, we are healed! First and foremost look to Him in all things. My wife Carrie and I will agree with you in prayer for God's divine direction, provision, and manifestation of your healing in the Wonderfully Beautiful and all Powerful name of Yeshua (Jesus' Hebrew name)!
91 bucks sounds low even for catastrophic.
As a Canadian; WOW, just WOW.
Hard to believe that the U.S. is still dealing with this, isn't it?
Sweetie: “I love being a dog!”
Seriously? Rubber Seal conditioner sponsor when you're talking about medical insurance? Anything for a sponsor I guess.
why do you call jenny ro?
They updated her info a while back, and that's actually her name. I think there is a video about it from 1-2 mos ago
I've been going by my middle name for over a year now with all our friends and family so we decided to start using it here too because it was getting really weird going by my first here haha.
-Roe
Medicare for all... you’re covered everywhere and practically everything. A lot less copays.
