I use slime tubes. I change them about 18 months or so. The last time I changed my MTB slime tubes, the front one had 18 green spots around the tube, so probably 18 punctures. They work well. I have them on all my bikes. There is a weight penalty but I have only ever had one complete deflation in 10 years of using slime tubes. I can highly recommend them.
@@natureseyemusic Thank You for the advice 👍 Had not heard of them before. I very rarely read cycling articles or magazines which probably explains my lack of knowledge of such things.
@@moth3at3r89 Yes, it was Morris lane which Margary & Codrington believed to be the more likely course of the Fosseway up to Banner down. It runs (nearly) straight onto the current Bannerdown road . Where modern Bannerdown road curves near summit there is a footpath which would keep course straight. Having ridden both this route and Fosse lane I'm inclined ('scuse the pun!) to believe this was the more likely Fosseway route out of Bath. Fosse lane is just too steep inho. Regards, Andy
Since changing to tyres with a puncture protection band then I rarely get a puncture. I would be concerned that putting sealant in a tube would affect the valve. Just my cautious nature.
@@colinwellman9480 yes me too. I saw a video of a pro mechanic changing sealant on a tubeless tyre. He had to clean out the valve as it had got gunged up. With inner tubes I have a collection of used core valves from old inner tubes. If it does clog up my valves I may have to change them. Will give experiment a full year (hopefully) before I decide if it's worth continuing.
@@Stevehatesgravel Thank you for sharing your experience. 👍 Yes, I'm beginning to hear this more and more. A friend who is much better than me with modern cycle technology referred to tubeless as 'a solution looking for a problem'.

I love slime tubes I use to have to change inner tubes a lot until I discovered Slime weary at first but really works a class product
@@spaceghost7919Thank you for your advice.
You are the second cyclist to recommend these.
I was unaware of them before this 👍
Andy what was the road before the big roundabout when you left Bath, was it morris lane in Batheaston?

Thanks Andy, by the way have you tried using Oakford lane as an alternative as it is also virtually traffic free
@@moth3at3r89 yes I know & like Oakford lane.
Came down Stewey lane once and it terrified me!

Stopped using tubeless more trouble than they are worth
