Heh, I was literally reapplying Poets of Berlin while watching your video... and then you mentioned it! I had to laugh. I personally am obsessed with this fragrance--when I finish my 50ml bottle I plan to buy the 100 ml--but it's amazing how expectations can really affect our experience of a scent. I've also seen people say they dislike it because it's "the worst vanilla fragrance"... I can see how, if someone is expecting it to be a vanilla scent, they would be very disappointed. I actually like it BECAUSE it doesn't smell like a literal blueberry muffin (or straight vanilla); I'm not really a fan of literal gourmands, so the complexity of Poets of Berlin is right up my alley.
I bought Guimauve de Noël because of you but I never thought of using it in the summer! Will do! 😍 Love your outdoor set up Chris! It looks like a beautiful resort! ❤
Oh my goodness, I just finished an entire bottle of Casmir! I had no idea it was similar to Ylang in Gold. I would layer it with Jimmy Choo Vanilla Love fragrance oil and it was so pretty. Now, I see that so many on Fragrantica call Casmir "vintage-y" or old lady. I truly have no idea what that means-if I like it, I like it! I think those Cremo fragrances are so underrated. Happy Father’s Day to “Picky Pat”. I appreciate the alternatives, especially the alternative to Bum Bum cream. I haven’t bought any Sol de Janeiro since they got purchased by L’Occitane (they have a MLM). One of my favorite blueberry oriented perfumes is Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy. It doesn’t credit blueberry in the notes, but I’m not the only one who thinks it smells like blueberry.
I think I love love is so much more enjoyable than Light Blue. You cannot beat the opening. A burst of freshness and juicy citrus. It really does put a smile on my face each time. Such a good one ❤

OMG as you were talking about Poets of Berlin and Wild Vanilla Orchid I had strong memories of not liking either of them so I looked up my notes and I compared them BOTH to the sicky sweet smell after a flue fire- not smoke just that sickeningly sweet smell almost like when a house has mold! I purchased Mercedes Benz Club Black last month after hearing Sebastian ThePerfumeGuy's super positive mention of it in several videos...and OMG it's my new favorite. It's perfection to me with that bright opening which segues silkily into a spicy vanilla that is perfectly balanced and blended. I like gourmand vanillas but I don't love love them, because too sweeeeet is not my jam, but this is sophisticated, intriguing vanilla PERFECTION. (Same renowned perfumer as the Kayali Yum and so many others.) I blind bought the 50ml and the moment that runs low I'm grabbing the 100ml. So excited to see you list it! I've always been curious about the Guerlain, but that price...!

I wore it in winter as well when I had it. That brown sugary amber peach. Maybe it’s the lychee or oakmoss or coconut but Ylang reads more summer. Great choice!!

I sold my Ylang in Gold and I regret it now! It's addictive but I didn't like that I couldn't spray on my clothes due to the gold shimmer and not a strong or long lasting fragrance. Now I miss it 😢

Spirtueuse Double Vanille actually does have tobacco in it originally, but it's been reformulated, so I don't know if it's detectable. I have an old bottle & I can smell it. The best dupe of it that I've smelled is El Born by Carner Barcelona which doesn't have tobacco in it but still smells very close to the original & can be found on discounters for $100

Hi Chris! I need to check out that Costco body butter, sounds nice. I have the older style bottle of Spiritueuse Double Vanille, but it's almost gone and my daughter fell in love with it. I wasn't about to pay the current price for a new bottle so I have tried many similar perfumes, including that I own Club Black. I gotta say, I don't agree it's at all similar to my nose. My daughter also likes that one but she doesn't find it the same, yet the fact she also likes that one tells me they must be similar to her. I finally bought the Alexandria dupe and I find it very good and very similar of all the "dupes" I have tried. The fact is, I think no one can dupe a Guerlain and so we must suck it up and pay the money for the real thing, hahaha! OXJulia

My old nose can detect the teensiest of similarities in the dry down but a few are my subs are convinced they are very close so if they can find happiness with Club Black (I love it also) that an awesome sub! 😆I heard the prices on those bottles went up yet again!!!😖

Hi there. Very few bottles have gone bad. If you store them properly, they will last years and years and years. I just finished a bottle of LDDM and it was almost 10 years old. Still smelled the same.

Hi Chris, this does not pertain to the video, but thank you so much for the correct use of the English language. I myself am Dutch. I studied English Language and Literature, so that gives me a base. But I have been peeved about the grammatical mistakes the perfume vloggers make. And the strange thing is, it's the same thing almost all of them do. I hear it in every video, and even a UK vlogger started to do it. I have never heard you make that particular mistake and I love you for that!

I wonder if it's the same word/phrase that bothers me all the time. "Aesthetic", as in "I adore this bottle. It's so 'aesthetic'." I hear it much more on fashion/haul/vlogs than I do on perfume channels. I always thought it should be worded as something being "aestheticly pleasing" for example...not just "aethetic".🤔

Which is already refering to 'cardemom note' in the main clause, and then they repeat it in the subordinate clause. You have no idea how many times I hear this. It's like these perfumes bloggers just parrot each other. Some people who were saying it correctly are now saying it incorrectly. And even someone from the UK is doing it now. I just HATE it so much; it makes me want to stop watching them altogether. As I said I am Dutch, but these things are happening everywhere: the languages are so-called 'evolving', but are really being polluted with grammatical and syntax errors, not to mention incorrect spelling and interpunction. But yeah, your point, aesthetic being used as a noun, is also annoying.

Spirtueuse Double Vanille actually does have tobacco in it originally, but it's been reformulated, so I don't know if it's detectable. I have an old bottle & I can smell it. The best dupe of it that I've smelled is El Born by Carner Barcelona which doesn't have tobacco in it but still smells very close to the original & can be found on discounters for $100

Hi Chris! I need to check out that Costco body butter, sounds nice. I have the older style bottle of Spiritueuse Double Vanille, but it's almost gone and my daughter fell in love with it. I wasn't about to pay the current price for a new bottle so I have tried many similar perfumes, including that I own Club Black. I gotta say, I don't agree it's at all similar to my nose. My daughter also likes that one but she doesn't find it the same, yet the fact she also likes that one tells me they must be similar to her. I finally bought the Alexandria dupe and I find it very good and very similar of all the "dupes" I have tried. The fact is, I think no one can dupe a Guerlain and so we must suck it up and pay the money for the real thing, hahaha! OXJulia

My old nose can detect the teensiest of similarities in the dry down but a few are my subs are convinced they are very close so if they can find happiness with Club Black (I love it also) that an awesome sub! 😆I heard the prices on those bottles went up yet again!!!😖

Hi there. Very few bottles have gone bad. If you store them properly, they will last years and years and years. I just finished a bottle of LDDM and it was almost 10 years old. Still smelled the same.

Hi Chris, this does not pertain to the video, but thank you so much for the correct use of the English language. I myself am Dutch. I studied English Language and Literature, so that gives me a base. But I have been peeved about the grammatical mistakes the perfume vloggers make. And the strange thing is, it's the same thing almost all of them do. I hear it in every video, and even a UK vlogger started to do it. I have never heard you make that particular mistake and I love you for that!

I also agree, Chris. You have absolutely beautiful word articulation. You're going to love this. I homeschool my child and I have referred to your videos on more than one occasion to show my son the correct way to pronounce words.😊 For example, the word 'fruity'. You pronounce it correctly where we can clearly hear the 't' sound, as in "fruiTy". I can't count how many times I hear it pronounced "froody" Love ya, honey!✨
I wonder if it's the same word/phrase that bothers me all the time. "Aesthetic", as in "I adore this bottle. It's so 'aesthetic'." I hear it much more on fashion/haul/vlogs than I do on perfume channels. I always thought it should be worded as something being "aestheticly pleasing" for example...not just "aethetic".🤔
@@courtneyperkins6683 Hi Courtney, it's a sentence like this: "It has a cardemom note, which I do like a cardemom note." Which is already refering to 'cardemom note' in the main clause, and then they repeat it in the subordinate clause. You have no idea how many times I hear this. It's like these perfumes bloggers just parrot each other. Some people who were saying it correctly are now saying it incorrectly. And even someone from the UK is doing it now. I just HATE it so much; it makes me want to stop watching them altogether. As I said I am Dutch, but these things are happening everywhere: the languages are so-called 'evolving', but are really being polluted with grammatical and syntax errors, not to mention incorrect spelling and interpunction. But yeah, your point, aesthetic being used as a noun, is also annoying.
The Mercedes benz perfume sounds soo yummy... if I had the money I would have to be a 'ding a ling" and blind buy. 🤪 😁
