I have a pusher kit on my 15 6.7 and really enjoy how the truck runs. my setup is a S480 over stock so i added a waste gate and piped it to feed the S480. Even with stock fuel my truck builds 70+ psi, it is just crazy how hard the truck pulls in 4th lockup when the boost hits. i know you are gonna love the way the truck pulls with that kit.
@@AmericanPieLightsOut - I was S475 over Fleece VGT, the setup was good. I went to S480 with 200% sticks, completely different animal. S475 vs S480 vs S483 with stock turbo and stock fuel, I don’t believe you’ll feel any difference until you add fuel. Your choice will depend on what you plan to do with your rig.
@@bb502cid personally what I plan on doing is a tater built 63/68 over stock with a 475 with a 10mm cp3 and probably 150hp injectors with a fass system.
That thing is going to be great to pull with once you get the trans solid. Do a comparison towing before and after the compounds. That would be cool to see
I had a lot of options when I did the 6.7 swap on my truck, but I ended up with a Silver Bullet 66mm and a divided manifold instead of a single S467.7 just by chance. I was worried about a big single with a 14cm exhaust housing killing my towing ability, but I have to say I'm way happier than I ever expected. I can blow the tires off in third gear at 1400rpm with a trailer and she'll rev past 4,000 if I want to risk valves high fiving the pistons. WAY more flow than a stock fuel system can take which is nice, keeps the EGT's pretty safe. I want to see what this compound setup is like. Next build will be a compound turbo 5.9 just to see which one I like better.

Robert Wilbert damn bro it was just a question didn’t realize you had to go check the comments for Greg lol if you watched when the air dog guys came with their tow rig they had the fire punk 48 swap and he said shouldn’t all guys just swap to the 48 right away and not mess with a 68 lol so calm down dude your not Greg
I have the Pusher Compound kit on my 16' dually with the stock turbo and the fleece proflo lift pump it really woke it up. I think you will be extremely happy with it.
I have an 05 with a s362 stacked with a s480, 95 gph lift pump. Stock sticks and CP3. With water meth and tuned by Calibrated power, I made 680 and 1198 ft lbs on 70 psi, water meth if good stuff haha. Hope this helps you any with your awesome build on the ultimate tow rig.
How do your custom tires and other upgrades affect your towing ability? I tow a 13k fifth wheel and don’t want any upgrades to negatively affect towing. Suggestions?
Did anybody else notice that there is two Fleese Turbo boxes? He’s using Fleese Cheeta already installed, so what’s that other Fleese box for? Greg_A please do tell!! Great vid, can’t wait to see the dually with compound turbos!
What made you decide to go s475 over the s480? With the modified stock charger I would think that the s480 would be more useful than when it is used with a stock charger. Also what about a tighter A/R 1.10 housing since it is a tow vehicle.
That's the main point of doing these compound kits on the 6.7s, you get to keep your factory turbo and retain all your factory function of the factory turbo most importantly being the exhaust brake. This also works with the cheetah because it is a worked over stock turbo with all the stock functionality. If you dont mind losing the exhaust brake then it is much cheaper and much less complex to just second gen swap it and go with a setup like what greg has on his 08
the cheetah (cheater) for the 6.7 trucks is a modified 351VE so it's still got an actuator and is still a functional VGT. so yes, you retain turbo brake (it's not technically an exhaust brake) functionality.
@@elpozzinator that "turbo brake" functionality as you call it of a vgt is by definition an exhaust brake. The vanes move to create a great restriction in exhaust flow causing a large increase in the exhaust manifold pressure making it harder for the wheels to drive the engine during deceleration. A compression brake commonly referred to as a "Jake brake" is a function of the valvetrain that opens the exhaust valves early so that much of the energy of the fuel detonating is sent into the exhaust instead of applying that energy to drive the piston down forcing the wheels to provide more of the energy to drive the motor thus slowing you down faster.
Pusher does make some GREAT STUFF, i have a full pusher intercooler piping and turbo inlet y bridge kit on my duramax, it fit perfectly with my danvile 4094va turbo. Could tell a huge difference vs stock piping on the aftermarket turbo
Hey Greg powerdrivendiesel just tested turbo blankets and manifold blankets on their RUclips. It made the turbo spool 2 seconds faster on the dyno you should look at the RUclips video if you haven't yet! It'd be great on the 05 and first gen!
Loved that video. I always knew they made a difference when it came to thermal dynamics and efficiency on the turbine housing. Very cool to see it proven.
I cant wait to compound another truck. I had an 03 with the industrial injection add a turbo. But I do see alot og people doing this pusher kit so I may need to give it a try
Hey Greg, I have a 14 g56 truck similar build as your 08, was curious what size injectors would pair well with the s467? I have the fleece 2nd gen kit and am looking to add a cp3 and injectors to go along with my not airdog lift pump lol
Could you please keep an eye on the average mile per gallon with these upgrades. Im interested in going a similar route but need to be as fuel efficient as well. Thank you Greg.
Awesome awesome video Greg A, oh man oh man lol, I kinda figured some compounds would be heading the dually’s way lol. I kind a think all Diesel trucks need compounds if you tow heavy a lot lol. But yeah the Dually will be blowing doors of them ferds now if it wasn’t already lol.
Get some cerakote ceramic high temp coating for your exhaust parts that won’t hold powder coating. It is a really nice product. I’ve used it on some exhaust manifolds.
So, do you need to have the truck deleted in order to jave an open filter intake? Or will it throw a code if I get an air intake without the "box" where the air filter sits in?
I've got a question what is the stock turbo size on a 2007 with a high output 6.7 Cummins because I use my truck as a tow rig also, but tow heavy heavy trailers 27-29 rolls of 4x5 hay on a 40' trailer.
What’s your opinion on the BD cobra kits vs this? I know you have to have a 2nd gen manifold for the BD as well, but performance wise what do you think would be better?
The big idea behind doing these compound kits on the 6.7s is you get to keep your factory turbo and retain all your factory function of the turbo, most important being the exhaust brake. The setup also works with the cheetah because it is a worked over stock turbo with all the stock functionality. However, this way is a good chunk of change, and it is much cheaper and much less complex to just second gen swap it and go with a setup like what's on the 08. But doing it this way, the exhaust brake works just as well if not better. A Load Leash will also work with a compound system, and then you REALLY have a good setup. Like for instance going down a 5-6% grade with the LL piggybacked onto the exhaust brake, you'll be able to hold back 20k on a trailer pushing the truck down the hill at 60 MPH and stay there without touching the brakes once. Check out video reviews on that if you're interested in it.
