My mind has been blown. It's really difficult to imagine two and a half years of practicing to set this record, and the fact that you never gave up and turned a video game into a huge personal project is absolutely astonishing. You must have been so dedicated to make this dream a reality! I can tell that the final result was quite an achievement for you, so I congratulate you on that. :) Currently my record is -12. I hope I and many others will learn from this video on how we can improve, so thank you.
Wow. I am amazed at this STILL-STANDING record. And the fact that you missed a hole-in-one yet continued to play is marveling. Thank you for still being active with your community
Thank you, Cole! I would always continue playing if I was at -5 or -6 after the first three holes. Another criteria was eagling all Par 5s, which I only achieved a few times. I knew early on that -26 was well within reach, and as my game improved, "bonus shots" like the eagle on 10, came more frequently. All these things kept me going. - Regardless of what level you’re on, setting yourself goals, is smart if you want to lower your score! Finally, I really enjoy communicating with the fans of this great game, so thank YOU! Espen.
MercurySnake Thanks, MercurySnake! Consistancy is key. Consistancy through repetition; play many rounds, always aim at doing better than your previous. Be accurate; get close to the pin on your approach shots, so that you set yourself up for one-putts. Putting: learn the greens; how the ball behaves differently putting downhill compared to uphill. Practice your swing, utilizing the power meter. Understand how the wind works. Learn how to shoot straight, and how to curve when you need to. Playing it right, it is possible to score birdie on any hole, regardless of wind direction and strength. So there you have it, -18. And we haven’t started on the eagles yet... In other words, the potensial for improvement is great when you are at -12. If you are a bit systematical and analytical as a person, I would say you have a greater chance achieving your goal, than if you play without much regard to what’s going on. Wishing you the best of luck! Espen.
Espen Pedersen I finally managed to get the -18 for the stamp after a little under 4 months of play, and I just wanted to thank you again for the great tips.
This video is on March 31st, 2016 seen 200.000 times! Thanks to everyone for watching and for all your comments and questions. 328 people gave thumbs up and 21 were offended and appalled... ;-)
+Daan Gaming Thank you very much, Daan. I'm proud of still being on top of the list, but what I find most gratifying, is that I get to share my video and talk about this great game with people all around the world!
Thanks, yeah I know!😕 I never really thought about it a few years ago, but "lately" people have been pointing that out. I guess the quality of today’s videos is getting better and better with easily accessable, high quality recording equipment, more advanced programs and more wide spread knowledge. Back in the day my video held decent standard. In content it shows all of the shots, winds and the score, which were the elements I was mostly concerned with, at the time, never having made a video before. Cheers, E
It's insane on how perfect this run was congratulations on the WR. It's also really cool that people still play this game. Regular Wii sports and Wii sports resort are games that really got me into gaming. Good seeing people still pay attention to this game.
I remember watching this video years and years ago. I can’t believe this record is still standing after 7 years! Aspen, you’re a legend bro, also I like how you’re still active with the community and answering questions not a lot of people do that. Even when this record is eventually beaten, your reign on top won’t be forgotten.
King Skelethon Hi King Skelethon. To begin with I just played for fun. As my scores got better, I became curious on how low it was possible to go and if people’s records were registered some place. I found wii-records.com (now suspended😞) and realized that I was getting close to the lowest score for 18 holes. And in April 2010 the record was mine. Some months later, after having been tied by a few players, I came back to the game. This time I approached it in a more scientific way, and playing WSR golf became a project with a beginning and an end. On Oct. 9. 2012, when I finally set my new WR, I felt that I had reached the peak of what was possible for me, so I quit, cold turkey. I had made a promise to my better half, that I would "get my priorities straight" and dedicate my life to raising my two, soon to be three kids,... so I did. So, there you have it! Short question, long answer. Typical...🙄
I saw this video 6 years ago and I'm still impressed of your achievement Espen :D Nice work, and the fact that this world record are still standing after 8 years must be so great to you :3
Thank you, ItsPancho8! It’s a strong record, and even if most people will never come close to -27, it truly makes me happy to see so many find inspiration from watching the video.
Ahh if you didn’t miss the hole in one on the second hole it would’ve been a -28, but still, mad respect to you for putting i. all of this time and effort into this game
Very inspiring, Espen! I’ve been a regular wii golf addict for years and have only recently begun playing resort. My record for the regular wii golf 9 holes is -13, so hoping to see some success in the resort 18-hole version soon. Wishing you all the best 👍🏼
Get ready to change that title because Murasaki just tied this record. Eagles on 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 14, 16 and 18. The first ever -15 front nine. Misfortune on hole 12, getting 0 wind, but he went right and couldn't reach the green in 2 shots. Here is a link to the video www.twitch.tv/videos/559297929
You are an amazing person Espen. Not only did you set this record but, you inspire people to try. As I am a ten year old. I still love opening that joyful Wii menu tune and playing this. I hope you go even further. Maybe your kids will eventually want to try.
Thank you very much, Nintendotaku64! That is nice of you to say! If people, young or old, can find inspiration watching my video, then I'll be very pleased and greatful. My oldest son thinks daddy's record is cool, but he finds golf a little complicated and hasn't inherited his father's patience and meticulousness...😆 Best of luck to you, and happy golfing! Espen
Today, February 28. 2020, my WR of -27 has been tied by mur4saki. I got to see it live on his Twitch live stream, and it was absolutely incredible! I have been following him for a few days now, thanks to my friend Lost Phoenix - Rift of Raigard, who recommended it. Watching mur4saki play Wii Sport Resort golf is both entertaining and educational. And if you love the game like I do, you can pick up great tips that may transform your own game, all the while watching a true master play at his best. Catch him here: m.twitch.tv/mur45ak1 All the best, Espen.
Joe Hamilton Hi Joe. This is the European version of the game. The spoon is equivalent to 3W (three wood), the second longest hitting club in your golf bag after the driver or 1W.

"Records are made to be broken" is not something you want to hear in your comment section after such a long reign as world champion. I hope I never hear it ( this is Stan, world record holder in Wii Sports Golf at -16). I have enjoyed my many conversations with you over the years with you especially the ones regarding "real" golf and Norway's domination in the winter Olympics. You once commented that you and I are very much alike and I consider that a compliment. Hope to hear from you from time to time. Take care.
Hi Stan. I can’t believe I haven’t answered your insightful comment yet! I think I intended to, but postponed it, until I had more time. I’m so, so sorry😟. You are absolutely right! It kinda hurts when someone knocks you off your throne after such a long reign. However, it also fills me with a sense of pride and gratitude. My record, and record video, have inspired a lot of people and perhaps even contributed (in a small way) to sementing Wii Sports Resort as one of the all time favourite games for Wii. I want to thank you, Stan, for reaching out to me in a difficult time, as I try to get used to being just "one of the G.O.A.T.s at this game🤣🤣🤣. I just want to say, I appreciate you, your great record and our meaningful conversations. Take care! Best regards, Espen.
Espen, congratulations, an incredible brand. Golf Wii Sport Resort is simply masterful, do not get bored of playing, integrated into the landscape with the soundtrack, its ambient sound even in SD quality. Today I did a lap of -12. My record is -16. In my career I have done two "Albatross."
Hi Julián. Thank you very much! We share the same passion for the details in this game. I too love the dreamlike scenery and music. This game could have been anything, or everything, but it isn't... It is just so well thought through and ...with 2009-goggles - PERFECT!
Espen, congrats on a great record! I love wii golf and, although I'm far from great at it, I've been playing for awhile. Getting this kind of score is so hard to accomplish because you have no room for error, and I think it should be pointed out that you got -27 without any hole in ones. That's impressive
Hi Rob. That's amazing progress on such short time! Congrats! I started playing in 2010, and was the first to register a score of -24. However, during the next year, I was joined by 4 other players. I felt I had to put in some extra effort to "secure" the top spot. I bought a recorder, scrutinized my game, memorized wind & focused on the first few holes to get a head start. This resulted in 100s of eagles on 1, sometimes followed up by Hole-in-one on 2. I was confident I would make it. Crazy;)..
Creator is still replying to comments 7 years since it posted that’s crazy. I barely remember me playing wii sports when I was younger I only remember getting a hole in one on one par 3 I forgot what hole
You have trained well and captured it on video, that my friend is the right thing to do when your this good. I would like to ask you to send in the rest of your golf scores to wiirecords, you maybe the only one out there to pass me in all 57 golf holes, give it a thought it's your legacy. Best of luck.
Hey Espen!I am very impressed with this score! I do play golf many times and my high score is -23. Some of these holes are very impatient to work with. That's 4 away. LOL XD Anyway, I plan to have 10 minutes of nonstop highlights of me playing this game. Hopefully, I'll get a lot. Do you think you can do it also? With this score, you might be able to. I just wanted to say your truly awesome and hope you might get even better. Keep at this game!Best regards, AwesomeGamerland (Wii Sports Legend)
AwesomeGamerland Thank you very much for your inspiring words! To date I haven't found the time to make a compilation of great shots, although I have some recorded. I literally stopped playing after I set my record almost five years ago! Family life required my full attention, and still does, but hopefully I will be able to put together something spectacular some time in the future... Anyway, I really hope you'll make a cool collection of highlights and upload it for all of us to see! And -23? Awesome!! I know what that takes! Keep at it! Best regards, Espen
Hi again Espen, I'll update you on some things I've talked about in my last few comments. The practice mod I talked about is still being worked on but it'll happen. The community segmented run hasn't had much progress yet, but that's mostly because a large time saving glitch was found in the original Wii sports golf, and the community has mostly focused on that game, it's been a bit of a gold rush there recently. I know you're not as interested in the original game, but the glitch is really complex so I'd have a hard time explaining what it does and how it works, but it's very cool. In short, through disconnecting the Wii remote ay a specific time during your swing, you can trick the game into thinking that the ball has stopped and that it's time to move onto the next shot. This glitch does not apply to Wii sports resort in any way. Something you'd be more interested in is a potential discovery in WSR golf, it's still mostly still an idea but does have some potential. I know you're not too technically adept, neither am I, but we don't have to understand too much of how the game internally works. Since a computer can't generate truely random numbers, it has to use a system to determine what wind each hole should be assigned every time you go into a round of golf. The game has a database of billions of potential seeds that can be chosen for your next round, if we could figure out the seed, we could figure out what wind we will get on every hole before the round even starts. Welp I didn't want to make a huge wall of text but here we go. The theorized method for figuring out what seed is coming would be to feed a program enough information about our current play session so that it can narrow the possibilities down to 1, in theory it should only take about 8 resets on hole 1, and feeding the program what wind we got each time. For score golf, this would make sessions much more efficient, before you start you can already know you'll get south wind on 9 and the attempt isn't worth your time. The best part is that if possible, it could all still be done on an unmodified version of the game, just a disc in a Wii. For speedrunning though, this would be much more impactful, it would have the same benefits as in score runs and more. We could fish for a good seed, then once we wind one, we can speed up our gameplay in a couple different ways, first we would guarantee opportunities at eagles on 3, 5, 9, and 16, as well as try to get good winds for other highly wind dependant holed such as 8 and 17, but this is all possible without knowing your seed, just less likely. The second way it could save time would be impossible without such information, I'll explain with an example, imagine you load into hole 6 during a speedrun, you don't know the wind as usual, you see wind streaks to the right but have no idea how strong it is, you can either guess the wind, hit the ball without knowing how strong it is, and hope you get lucky, or much more realistically, wait a little bit and see what the speed is, it's only 2 mph, now you can swing away, but you could've swung about a second earlier, if only you knew what was coming.... Sorry for the wall of text but we were due for a quarterly update lol Hope you're doing well Espen Tyler
Hey Tyler! Thanks for this great news bulletin😆. I am amazed there are people actually working on this. I understand the goal and purpose. Still, I find it hard to fully understand. At the end of the day, it comes down to passion, I guess. Even a fossil like me can relate to that... 👍🏻E
I already helps to reset on hole 1, if you have wind from your back, because wind directions cant repeat for some number of holes. I have/had a lot of video footage of hole in ones and chip in eagles, so i can watch them to repeat the excact same shot. Do you know what type of RNG generator Wii Sport Resort uses?
Hello Tyler (and Espen), thank you for all of this information and work! Is there a Discord channel or something else where I can keep updated about these things? Or will you further update in this comment section?
This video is on Jan. 2, 2015 seen 100.000 times! Thanks to everyone for watching and for all your comments and questions. 143 people gave thumbs up and 12 were provoked and aggravated... ;-) Happy New Year from Espen.
+ByCrayZor Hi! No, I don't. I hardly play at all these days; there just isn't enough time... As you probably understand, I played heavily for quite a long time some years back, so today I feel quite fulfilled. I am sure playing golf on Wii U is a blast and would probably get me hooked... again!.. So I better not ;-) Best regards, Espen.
Very impressive performance, and thanks for the numerous replies to comments. My wife got a Wii from a friend a while ago for free with Wii Resorts and I got hooked on the Golf, she loves it too. We often play together. Recently I hit my personal best with a -12. Your tips for using longer clubs for approach shots may help me improve as I've generally used the default club. My best regards to you and your family and thanks again.
Thank you so much! I am happy for you - and your wife. This game is for everyone (almost...) I wish I could play with my wife, but she would argue I should get my priorities straight... 😂 Keep enjoying and take care! Espen
@@espenpedersen9540 Not sure I see how priorities come into that decision to enjoy a game together, a card game, a movie, or some other effort to spend time together. Surely spending time together has priority in and of itself :)
hardware4200 I agree! Alas, she has no interest; she is not that impressed by my WR either😕, to be honest. Anyway, it is the summer holidays, and we are spending time together. After I put my controls aside in Oct. 2012, I have made room for the younger generaration, so Wii golf has been replaced by Fortnite and FIFA. I still genuinely enjoy talking to Wii golf fans around the world. It kind of keeps me in contact with the game. Maybe in a few years I will make my comeback.
@@espenpedersen9540 Last night, and after making some adjustment based on your comments, I hit -17. I was ecstatic, and my wife was elated as we carefully marched to 18. I had one bogy, 2 eagles, and the rest birdies. It was a blast, and my best overall performance thus. Thank again for all the tips.
Hi Kaden Kozina’s real dad. Sure, I’ll try! If you are up to it, go "back in time" and read through some of the many comments and tips I have given on both a general note and for specific holes. The three holes that you have picked out for me to comment on, are very different. The most significant thing they have in common is probably that your result/score is more affected by wind than many of the other holes. Hole 5 is a par 5 that requires accuracy, whether you’re aiming for eagle or birdie. It is the easiest hole to make chip-in eagles on. The reason for this is that the hole is on a higher plain from where you are standing, and your chip (3. shot) uphill will have less break, compared to flat or downhill chip shots. Less break means easier aim, and it’s often easier to apply the right amount of power going uphill. However, if you reach the green in two, putting can be really tricky. Long putts or putts with a wide offset or break is common. My advice to you is just to practice a lot; your efforts will help you on all the other holes. One more thing, I would recommend to try to land on the right side of the fairway with your second shot. That will make your third shot easier by reducing the left to right break. Hole 16 is a birdie hole. Your only eagle opportunity is the shortcut, landing on the green with your tee shot. This is a hole where it is preferable to have a right to left wind in order to reach the green, but mastering hooks and slices helps. It is easy to overpower, and if you are not slowed down by trees or rough, you will find yourself in a difficult spot for your eagle attempt. I regard an eagle on 16 a bonus, a bonus you may cash in quite often, but most times you must settle for birdie by chosing the dogleg right, fairway route. Occasionally your second shot can be difficult, however, because of trees blocking the green. This requires you to choose a different club. I often used the spoon/3-wood with 1,5 dot on the power gauge. The ball would slam into the bunker fronting the green, lose it’s momentum and roll nicely onto the green for a comfortable birdie putt. Classy and effective. Hole 17 is the hardest par 3 on the entire course. Don’t shoot too far right, because you will either hit the rocks or land in steep uphill, demolishing any chance of birdie. You really need to get the first bounce sentered on the fairway, but even so, you’ll very often have a long putt back to the hole. No problem, cause you practice putting, right? Again, with this hole it is a huge advantage to know how to curve the ball. This skill will get you closer to the pin and to a safer birdie. I hope this insight was helpful and that you can bring your score into the sub -20’s. Good luck! Best regards, Espen.
Thanks, vdrive65! A driver is the longest hitting "wood" in a golf bag. It is also known as 1W (one-wood). The spoon was the wooden-shafted club in (primarily) pre-20th Century golf history that is most equivalent to today's 3-woods. A modern 3W is not a spoon, however. Spoons were called that because their clubfaces were concave (shaped like a spoon, in other words). But in appearance, loft and purpose, the spoon is the antique golf club that most resembles today's 3-woods.
February 18, 2020: 500.000 views! UNREAL!! 😆 Thanks to every single one of you who’s watching, commenting, liking and subscribing. I’m proud and honored! Espen.
Hi Alue26. Getting good is what I found rewarding, always believing I could do better. It involves a love for the game and a lotta practice! Happy wii-golfing, Espen.
Hey Espen, I commented a few days back here, it seems like the comment got deleted somehow (probably because I used some links). Anyway, I hope you are doing well! I just wanted to update you, to what is happening in the world of WSR Golf (Scoring): A few days ago the japanese player "Viridian" became the 2nd player to beat your round by scoring a -28! There are also now 3 other players besides you with a -27. In the Wii Series community some players have created a spreadsheet to save clips and lineups for as many conditions they could find (They have already clips for 400 out of all 6570 conditions possible for all holes). With a practice mod they can recreate every condition on every hole and look for more easy lineups. I helped by adding clips from the videos I uploaded in the past. They even took it a step further and began to run the game on two Wiis, so they can first practice the conditions. With this technique the player Benson was able to achieve a -29. We are not listing these runs in the leaderboard though, because they were assisted. For now I am playing NSS Golf, I plan to come back to grinding WSR in the future. I will use the new spreadsheet to rememorize some lineups, but I am already decided to not use if when my runs get serious. Overall it is still cool to see, that people still play WSR a lot, for sure one of the best video games in history, especially Golf. Best regards, alnik001
Hi Alnik001. So nice of you to drop a few lines!😊 I heard about this earlier from SirTyler, I think. It is pretty amazing to think about all the possibilities as programs, mods and aids are steadily developed and taylored to what ever function desired. I am impressed by the know how and people’s passion when it comes to finding solutions to problems or challenges. For a 1. generation Wii golfer these new possibilities are incomprehensible. I cannot pass judgement on this as the game and gamers evolve within a community. I imagine, next to having fun, the sole purpose is still progress. Even if I feel alienated to this change, I see it as something natural. The magical world of Wuhu Island is still there for people of all ages to explore, and the idea and concept behind Wii Sports and Wii Sport Resort has not faded, even if the gaming World is ever changing. I hope that you are well, and thank you again for keeping in touch and informing me on what’s happening in the community. Best regards, Espen.
Thank you, Jesse! I am thrilled that you found my video inspiring. Reading the wind and choosing the right clubs is essential. (Obviously, one might say...) But on a record round like this, or on a near-record round one will have many really close ones in addition to those that actually go in. Having albatrossed most of the par 5-holes, I know there is always a chance. However gathering those perfect hits after one another is so hard. Thanks again & good luck on your future progress. B reg Espen
Thanks, FCM667! To your query: You zoom in by pressing "2" on your Wii remote. To create a backspin I stop my downward swing on ball impact, or if I want a short roll, my follow-through is shortened slightly. Obviously wind direction, choice of clubs and landing area affects the result. Like in real golf the shorter clubs with higher trajectory and ball flight produce more backspin. - I hope this was helpful. Best of luck, Espen
I play this game now and then with my wife and watching your video was interesting. Your putting skill is phenomenal especially on the seventeenth hole. I have played just as well as you, even had a couple of holes in one but never in the same game unfortunately. You were lucky with the wind strength too, especially on the last hole. Your eagle has certainly landed.
Hi Philip. Thank you for your kind words. Imagine getting one or two Hole-in-ones and maybe an Albatross on 14 or 18; the score could have been even lower! Then again, I made Eagle on all of the par 5's, which is very rare, and chipped in for Eagle again on the par 4 1 and 10, and finally eagled the treacherous hole 16. Having played the game countless times, I really consider this a round where everything went my way. Actually, I was quite confident on 17, even after having overpowered my Teeshot. Very nervous towards the end, though... Best regards, Espen.
Hi Randomno. The video is some 20 minutes, and you can see all 45 shots. The original recording however is well over an hour, and I have edited out the often time consuming preparation. Even though many shots have been executed a thousand times, I needed to feel absolutely confident in my assessments of pace and direction. Practice swings helped eliminate (for the most part) unwanted slice or hook. I was very nervous towards the end though... I hope you enjoyed the video! Best regards, Espen.
Is there a top ten list of best scores or something? I know there was some old wii records website that no longer works that had something like that, but it would be nice to know of some other targets to shoot for since I am doubtful that anyone will ever break this record (I could see someone tying it, but breaking it would be unbelievably challenging). For instance, would a score of -25 put one in the top ten recorded games?
Hi Gabriel. If you read my intro, I refer to the website wii-records.com, that has been suspended for almost three years. It was created by Brazilian Thiago Rosa, and it was up and running for about ten years. It contained thousands of records for all the Wii games, and Thiago had several moderators helping him keep the site active by adding new games and categories and participating in discussions on the forum. This is what the front page looked like: web.archive.org/web/20161115142428/www.wii-records.com:80/en-us I remember, for golf you had the 3-hole records: beginner, intermediate and expert, meaning holes 1-3, 4-6 and 7-9 on the Resort course and 10-12, 13-15 and 16-18 on the Classic course, and obviously the Special holes. The WRs were basically -6 or -7, if I remember correctly. There was also a lowest score for 9 holes in addition to my 18-hole record. I believe the best registered 9-hole scores were -15 and -14, but I cannot remember which... (You probably know that -16 has been achieved on the original Wii Sports golf.) There were lots of other records for golf on WSR as well, but I didn’t find them very prestigeous and therefore not that interesting. When I set my -27 record, I got a bit of attention, because no one were really close, My -24 WR from 2010 had held the no. 1 spot for two years, but was finally beaten by another player at -25, possibly just a month or so, before I produced the -27 score. His joy was short lived... At same time I announced my video, and that might have inspired a few players, because more -25 scores were registered and eventually a -26. Today I am aware of a handful of people whom are at this level, and Mur45ak1 (Twitch) has tied my record several times. He is the only one I know who is good enough to lower the record even further. We’ll see what the future brings. To own this record for eight years is still amazing! Thanks for your interest, Gabriel! Espen
@@espenpedersen9540 hey Espen, at speedrun.comwww.speedrun.com/wsrce#Lowest_Score We have a few top scores on here. If you know of any specific people who proved their scores, I'd be interested in hearing about them. I'll also ask if we can put their scores up, to try to recreate some of what was lost when wiirecords shut down. Also, you're awesome Espen, if for whatever reason, you stop checking this video and responding to comments, please make a comment here and pin it, and maybe share ways that we can still keep in contact. You're a legend and I don't want you to just disappear one day. Tyler
Haha yes! Look at our friends from waybackmachine coming up clutch again. It turns out there were 3 captures of the 18 hole golf record for WSR, the last of which is from 03 June 2015. web.archive.org/web/20150603022426/www.wii-records.com/en-us/records.php?game_id=457&category_id=21498 A bit outdated probably, but it is something!
@@sawmill035 yooo that's awesome, with a -26 myself, this is really interesting. So many great scores so long ago. Do you know how sturdy their proof standards were? I can only view this on my phone for right now so I'm not sure if parts of the page is busted. I think it only required photo proof, which can be somehwhat easily faked if you know what you're doing, thanks for this!
@@SirTylerGolf I have no idea how sturdy the proof is. I was wondering the same myself. I would imagine most, if not all, are legit, because who would really go through all the effort to not at least "tie" the WR, which Espen had for 3 years at that point. But you're right, it is a concern.
Hi TitaniumTurtle. Thanks for asking! You know, this is a near perfect round; no misses. But it is still one in a thousand! You have to put down hours every day for quite some time; and that is not for everyone! Have fun playing; that’s what matters. Then take it from there. You get backspin when you stop your hand (foreward motion) on ball impact. You get more backspin with your short clubs e.g. 9 iron, compared to your long range clubs. Best of luck to ya! Espen.
Espen Pedersen Thank you so much, I think that it would be super cool to get good at something like this, and I have already started putting in the hours. This is a lot of help, one day I hope to join you and mur4saki in the grind for -28!
Hey Espen, do you know these replay glitches, I was on hole 4 classic and from the rough I got a chip in birdie flag hit and in the replay it showed something else, the ball hitted the pole instead and it went back on the rough
Hi Robin. I'm glad you found my video inspiring! I am thinking about making a compilation of spectacular shots, but I haven't found the time these last few months. Alas I can't promise you it will happen any time soon either, as my family life requires more focus and golfing has been put aside... But maybe.. Take care! E
Thanks a lot, rebarbmonk! Going beyond -24 requires a perfect game plus chip-ins or hole-in-ones, in other words considerable time and scrutiny. Your record of -21 is impressive also! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Take care! E
Hello espen, hopefully you remember a Tyler Millar, well that's me, I left probably the longest comment on this video about a year ago, I have just recently got back into playing for score in this game, after speedrunning it for hundreds of hours total. My new best is -23, and one of the members of the speedrun community has -24, we both haven't played a whole lot, respective to your commitment, but maybe we will get to -26 or even -27 one day. My -23 had a rather bad ending, missing a very makable eagle putt on 16, and parring 17 due to very bad pin and wind. I will have a video of my -23 soon, and will post it here, i will also try to find the video of the -24 I spoke about. Tyler
Hey Tyler! Great to hear from you again! I love the fact that so many still play this game! And I feel kinda proud of all the committed gamers out there that recognize and can relate to, or even appreciate, the struggles involved in getting these low scores. It is awesome that some people still find inspiration from my video. I cannot wait to see your amazing speedrunning -23 record video!?! Wow, Tyler. All the best, my friend! E
1/2: Thanks, MangDynasty, for your comment! I was bound to get that question sooner or later! I can play all 18 holes in 20-30 min, but for the most part a round will take about 1h. Having tied my old WR of -24 10x or so, most times I abort gameplay after only 3-5 holes, if I havent't achieved my objectives early on. A lot of time and scrutiny go in to preparing each shot, and the complete recording is 90 min using a Hauppauge HDPVR. I have edited out the preparation, but included all 45 shots.
can i ask, i have wii sports resort on my wii, but i dont think it works well on my hdtv, since it doesnt support hd. can i transfer my miis wii sports resort dats from one wii to another?
[FP] Geometry Dash Finlad Hi. I found this link that shows there are at least two ways of transferring your mii from one wii to another. Sadly the records do not transfer.: answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=A0LEVj5HkdNV2ccANkonnIlQ;_ylu=X3oDMTByMjB0aG5zBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw--?qid=20070723100821AAlCa8k Best regards, Espen
Hi Igor. Thank you for your comment. Best regards, Espen.
Thanks😃 I don’t get to play anymore; there just isn’t any time! But I find great joy in talking to people who love the game like I do. It’s nice to help out if someone has a question. Enjoy! E
Hey Espen!! I'm 12 and have been playing golf for about two years now this vid is rlly amazing and this determines me to go out and play better golf!! Thanks for the inspiration
Hey Espen, it's me Allen, I've commented on this video a few months ago. after RUclips disabled DMs, I have yet to be able to talk to you again. I do now have great success with this game, recently getting a -18. Thanks a lot for the help and I hope to come back with a better score next time. ~Allen.
Hi Allen. Great to hear from you again! Getting to -18 is major accomplishment in this game. Now you’ll perfect your technique, start one-putting and get eagles steadily. And suddenly you are world class in the sub -20’s! Keep enjoying👍🏻 Best regards, Espen
just a quick question. would you please come back for awhile, it be nice for you to be in the community. also yesterday, i achieved my first ever -20 with an eagle in hole 3 and 18 and the rest with birdies. will strive for that -27!
also, would you mind if there could be a possible form of communication between us other than the comment thread here? anything's fine. if you want to keep it here, I'd gladly stay here.
Allen Lee Hi Allen. I am not active on social media. This is me at my most advanced, I’m afraid... But if you have questions for me, technical or tactical issues you’ld like to discuss, videos you want me to watch or comment on, please let me know! Best regards, Espen.
This video is on May 31st, 2017 seen 300.000 times! Thanks to everyone for watching and for all your comments and questions. 589 people gave thumbs up and 36 were poked in the eye.
Wow that was incredible. I recently got back into Wii Sports Resort after playing a ton when I was younger and golf has become one of my favorites on the game. I was proud of my -2 (and I still am) but after seeing you shoot -27 that really inspires me to play better and just have fun. Two questions though - how do you put back spin on the ball and why is your wood called a spoon? Thanks for the great video!
Thank you very much, dgarz79. I’ve talked to many people whom share your experience; stacking away the game for years, only to come back realizing what a great game WSR was - and still is! One of the game’s greatest assets is that it is easy to learn, easy to get good at, all the while leaving room for people like me who dive in deep and still find considerable challenge. I hope you’ll find years of joy playing golf on WSR and maybe pick up one or two tips from my video and the elaborate comment section😅... Your two questions are the two most common ones asked, so I’ll ask you to look up my conversation with John Smith two months back. I have the European (Norwegian) version of the game btw. Take care, Espen.
Wow, thanks!! Well, the record is still just a few months old, so :-) ... Wii Sports Resort was released in 2009. I'm sure many more were playing back then, considering the amount of views some of older videos have. Anyway. The game has become a huge favorite of thousands around the world, and for many it has been their first Wii game, as it came with the console when purchased. It's already a classic, and I am happy people find my video inspiring. Best regards, Espen.
Hi Alexander! You know, that one is difficult to answer, because of the strategy I had to breaking my own -24 WR from 2010. My greatest focus was holes 1 & 2. With considerable practice I was able to eagle hole 1 every 5 to 10 minutes, meaning I would restart every time I failed. Now, that is NOT recommended for everyone to follow. It is more like a science project than leisure, but for me - perfect! On hole 2 it was all about getting a Hole-in-one. With the right start I would be two shots up on my WR, after two holes! To break the record I still needed a perfect game, so I studied the next holes also by recording my game play, memorizing wind and power gauge. I steadily got better. I have told people that I find hole 9 to be the most difficult hole on the course. That hasn't changed, but there are many crucial points on the way. Getting eagle on 3 and 5 were a must(!), obviously easier said than done! If you look at my low 7-iron chip shot on 5, I have made that one hundreds of times. On this hole I try to land as far right as possible with my second, so that my chip doesn't break right so much. That makes the chip shot straighter and easier to assess. Hole 6 was hazardous at times. I needed to be in the right spot for my second. I would use either my 5-iron or 7-iron depending on wind and distance to the flag. The putt would often be difficult because the green and flag positions are among the hardest. The green on hole 8 is a monster. And with rough wind the birdie putt would often prove a challenge. For me it was about not rolling off(!), trying to get as close as possible, and learning the heavily curved green. On hole 9 you are almost half way into the game, and I remember I was always praying the wind allowed me to shoot over the water. Even if I was able to land the ball on the green, I would often have a putt longer than the 4 dots on the power gauge. Eagle always felt like a victory. The second shot on 12 was nerve wrecking. The green isn't hard, but the bunker in play fronting the green, and the risk of bouncing off the green made this hole treacherous. I always played the shortcut, by the way. The tee shot on 14 was difficult if side winds were strong; for the most part I would be okay, carrying through the trees onto the fairway. But the ascended green could also be a challenge sometimes. Yet it was this hole that awarded me the most albatrosses. 16 was hard to eagle on a regular basis. For the most part I would play the dogleg right fairway, and be modestly happy with a birdie. (The low trees would sometimes be a menace preparing for my second shot, so I would take out my spoon, slam the ball in to the bunker fronting the green; the ball would then bounce on to the green and often stop quite close to the pin. Looking and feeling Pro!) Obviously, the shortcut through the forest was the preferred solution, if the wind didn't push me into the bunker. Hole 17 is by far, the most difficult par 3. With varying winds you never end up in the same spot! You have to learn to putt from different angles, and you have to learn to putt long! 18 is not the most difficult par 5, but it is a very exciting finish with potentially two different routes. A perfect tee shot is vital. That final, uphill putt can be deceiving, certainly if you end up outside the green with your second. Finally, nerves always came to play the further I got into the game. When you are chasing the mother of records (for WSR golf), and you have invested so much time over such a long period, it is an incredible sensation; feeling both calm and pressure. Even though my controls are chucked away years ago, I know will always love this game! Thanks, Alexander.
Hey Espen, I managed get a -25 with a par today and just wanted to say I'm coming for that record, hopefully I can potentially tie it by the end of the year if I keep at it 👀
Man it's been so long since I first saw this. This is crazy. Last weekend I finally got -18 and the stamp, but I've played some -11 and -12 rounds that could've easily been -20 or even -21 if I managed to make my putts. How do you manage to not miss putts? The worst ones are hole 5 (the green is just horrendous), 6, 8, 9, 15, 16, and 17, but sometimes I just miss them for no reason. I'm not trying to go for this or anything but I wanna make my putts y'know?
Hi someone. Congrats on that 5th stamp!👏🏻 You have put down some good work to get there. Still you are having struggles with your putting. However, I am confident you will improve this part of the game also. First, you need to fully understand how the ball behaves when you are putting. Your aiming is completely different putting downhill compared to uphill on, say an 8 meter putt. On downhill putts, where the ball breaks to the right, you sometimes need to aim far left of the hole. Try to visualize being the golfball and where you "need to be" in order to just roll into the hole, when the power you put into the shot has been used up and all you are left with, is gravity. - What better example is there than Tiger’s legendary chip on the 16th from the 2005 Masters at Augusta? (Check it out, if you haven’t already seen it a thousand times…) I have spent hours visualizing the putting line from the club head to the hole. As I said, it is about understanding the correlation between the directed power going into the ball on one hand and gravity on the other. On downhill putts gravity plays the major part, where as on uphill putts, power has the leading role. Most golfers will say downhill putts are the most difficult, and rightfully so, due to the dire consequences one might experience having ended up further away than you started. Obviously, you always want to do your best. Putting is about confidence. You want to be attacking, meaning the ball must reach the hole. At the same time, you cannot play too aggresively going downhill! So focusing on the ball getting just the right amount of power, especially on the long putts, should be a goal for you. Sideways putting, is as you have experienced, very hard, and also putts that go both up and down - or have both left and right breaks! And they do occur on the holes you mentioned… When you make those putts it feels great, but your desire should be to try to avoid them altogether, by taking your time and being accurate going onto the green. Try to make your putts as short as possible! I hope this emphasis can help transform your putting. Best of luck! Espen.
Is this 100% real? Just shot my record -21 after playing the game occasionally the past 4 years. This is beyond impressive. I had 2 pars on 9 and 17, and 5 eagles on 1,5,12,16, and 18.Rest birdies. Don't think i will ever do better.
Hi Mike. Yes, it is real. It took me about 4 months to get to -24. I regarded that a perfect round with eagle on all six of the par 5 holes, which is extremely rare, and one-putts (birdie) on all the other holes. So, with -21 you can still hope to lower your score, but as I have explained to others, it requires a lot of repetion! As for my record, that is another story. That was a bit of a science project; relentless repetition, particularly on the first few holes, memorizing wind speed and direction - and experimenting with different clubs. The goal was to get a two shot head start on the record and hopefully make some chip-in eagles. As my accuracy was improved, the "lucky" chip-ins became frequent, but it took me two years to shave off those three shots. Keep at it, and have fun playing. That’s what matters. Best regards, Espen.
Hi again, and thanks for your interest. Hole 14 is treacherous and has many dangers depending on wind and tactics. Being in the rough is generally undesirable, if you have ambitions going directly into the hole. The fact is you don't have the same accuracy as when you are on the fairway or green. This goes for all the holes and not specifically 14. But chip-ins are great, I admit, and quite spectacular! (ref: hole 1, 5, 10) Best regards, Espen
I can't believe this record is still standing. It's been 5 years since I've last saw this vid, I think you should post this sort of content more often. Have you ever gotten an albatross before? I've only gotten one. Also, ever since I saw this video and also Gaz's -24 video, I always used a 3 wood on hole 2. It works out much better for me.
Thank you very much, K. Niel Sharma. I literally stopped playing the day I set the record. I had been grinding, on and off for two and a half years. So this was my goal, and making a video for everyone to see, was part of it. Since then I have been communicating with people all over the world. It has been the only way for me to be "active", without compromising my other chores and responsibilities in life. I find it meaningful, as long as people respond and have questions and comments. I am happy you too have had success using some of my strategies to get low scores, and I wish you all the best!😉 Espen
Espen Pedersen thanks man, been trying lately to get a lower score. My most common mistake is using a shorter club. Backspin can be really tricky. The worst is when you don’t want it and swing all the way through but still get it anyway. Glad to see you’re staying active
Hello, could you send me the link to Gaz's -24 ? I've been trying to find all people who have a score of -24 or better. If you know anyone else I'd also appreciate it if you could point me towards them !
Thanks a lot, berndnudls! It took a bit of practice, I'll tell you. And I did fail a few times before I got there... Proud of my WR. Hope it lasts; at least for a while... By the way, I love your taste in music. You have some great downloads. Best regards, Espen.
Yeah, I know! It was very lucky. That said, I have eagled no 10 many, many times. Having played the hole hundreds of times, it was pretty special that it happened on this round. In fact it is the tiny difference between WR and just a wickedly amazing round!!.. Best regards, Espen.
Hei Thomas. E
Thank you very much, zakover! I believe we have the same club selection, and it shouldn't matter whether you are pro or superstar class; you can switch clubs at any time using your Wii remote. The suggested club is not always the one to choose. It depends on tactics, wind and landing area. On some holes I prefer to use a long iron or a spoon on my approach shots. It allows me to roll into or past the hole, instead of risking a nasty bounce. I hope you found this helpful! Best regards, Espen.
Well, me I guess! Crazy, hmm...🤔yes. Psychopath?... doubt it! I believe psychopaths are impatient, restless and bored easily. I tell you, you have to be the opposite to pull this off! If you called me a Wii golfing nerd, I wouldn’t be the least bit offended. ...and you’d be spot on!
Hey Espen, me again, there is a challenger for your wr. I spoke of him in my last comment, when his pb was -23, now he has 3 -26s. The last of which should have tied your wr, he was -11 after 6 holes, and was 2 shots ahead of your pace after 8 holes, but a mistake on 14 lead to a birdie, and he fell behind. Here's the link to the video, and enjoy what will probably be the end of having the world record alone after 7 years. www.twitch.tv/videos/527994638
Hi Tyler. Wow, what a video!! And three times? I never did that! I scored -6 after the first three tens of times, but I never had -11 starting hole 7! He had a few lucky breaks with straight tail or head winds, but that is absolutely crucial, if you’re aiming for WR. He was very unfortunate with the wind on 9, though, and obviously that missed putt on 14 will make him turn in his sleep for some time...😅. In order to tie my score (or set a new record), he needs to add to his list of objectives. He will NEVER be content with a record score, as long as one of his holes is a par. Par 5 holes are eagles. Period! Even my registered 2010 WR of -24, all six par 5’s read eagle. It is super rare, and you need to play A LOT. (I guess he can check that box from the looks of it...) He just needs to be consistant, and those chip-in eagles will be as frequent as meat on sale. Thanks for sharing, Tyler! (Uh, Twitch, is that the Thang😎?) Espen.
@@espenpedersen9540 hey Espen, he certainly is putting in alot of time, and has great consistency, not quite matching your level, but he is still playing. I'd be surprised if he gave up without at least tying your record, beating it is another story, but theres a chance at that too. Twitch is a live streaming service, if you have some spare time, you can watch him play live. He is in a similar time zone and streams alot, his name is Mur4saki, if you follow him youll get a notification every time he streams, if you want. Tyler
this run is absurd bc the lowest score u can get wo chip-ins is -24, given u have optimal wind for getting on or near the green in the least amount of strokes. talking abt theoretical scores is pointless when just one chip-in is very hard to pull off, let alone having the consistency to play near-perfectly for 20 minutes
Thank you! And I will be bold enough to say; you are absolutely right! My first -24 round was like that; all eagles on the six par 5s - and 1-putts only. It is insanely difficult, but to all you people who find inspiration from watching this video; it is possible! And whether you are a record chaser or just playing for fun, I hope there is something in here that you can take with you. Best regards, Espen.
Cool! Did you know, I actually look like that! My orange sweater is a bit faded, but my real life golf shoes are in fact white and orange! They are leather and very comfortable. Unfortunately, I don’t get to play a lot these days...
Sorry, Thomas... 😕I literally stopped playing on October 9th, 2012. I would embarrass myself in front of all the people admiring my great achievement, if I picked up the controls and played a televised game. My quest is over. Today I serve as a mentor, providing tips and inspiration to all those who watch my video and love the game, like I did. Best regards, Espen.
Espen, I'm working on my WSR golf long game right now, anything you can tell me about your approach to hitting a full power shot? I understand practice will ultimately be the best guide but are there any tips you can share with me about this aspect of the game?
Hi Lonnie. Thanks for asking. That is a good question! Some players find it hard to make a perfectly straight, maxed out drive, or any full power golf shot, for that matter. It is easy to overpower and potentially destroy your eagle or birdie opportunity. - But why is this so important? On a general note, you do not actually need to shoot maximum power on a lot of the holes in order to make birdie. Just as long as you are able to stay on the fairway. Accuracy is key. Wether you’re 80 or 100 yds from the pin, doesn’t necessarily make a difference, as long as you end up within comfortable putting range. However, being able to steadily hit straight drives (or controlled drawes/fades) with max power will give you an advantage when facing strong head wind or if you want to set yourself up for an eagle putt, on say Hole 3. If you are a Monsterdriving Superhero 😎, you will often be rewarded with a shorter and easier chip shot with less roll - and less risk! Another side affect to this, is that your "lucky" chip-ins will become more frequent. For me it was essential to be able to get maximum distance. For the same reasons as described above, but also so that my second shot would come as close as possible to "being a tee shot", meaning I would land with my first shot more or less in the same spot every time. That was my "approach and attitude"; obviously difficult to master... The idea was, that this would increase my chances of making chip-in eagles, which again laid the foundation for my quest for improving my 2010 WR. Best of luck on Your quest, Lonnie!👍🏻 Espen
I must say I am shocked watching this. My best round is-8 and I was thinking maybe someday i could get -15 if I played perfect. I have a few questions if you dont mind. I noticed often you select a low club like 3 iron or spoon? ( is that 3 wood?) Does that make getting closer to the pin easier? #2, how do you generate backspin? No matter how hard I swing, no backspin. #3 seems like a lot of times you are aiming right at a tree. How do you know if its going to go over the tree or through without catching it and slowing down? #4 how do you know how much the putt is going to break? I didn't see you use the green views much if at all. Sorry for so many questions.
Hi John. Great questions, and thanks for asking! Many people ask about the spoon, and you are right! Here is the historical and scientific explanation: The driver is the longest hitting "wood" in a golf bag. You have noticed that I don't always choose the default or suggested club, and again you are right! Take holes 1 & 2: The long clubs allow me to shoot straighter through rough wind, and instead of landing short or on the far side of the pin, I discovered that rolling on to the green towards or/and past the flag gave me better eagle chances, as I was memorizing wind speed/directions and desired power. (I know... this is not for everyone, but it really transformed my game and inspired me to get better!). 2nd question: To create backspin I'd stop my downward swing on ball impact, or if I'd want a short roll, my follow-through would be shortened slightly. Obviously wind direction, choice of clubs and landing area affects the result. Like in real golf the shorter clubs with higher trajectory and ball flight produce more backspin. Questions 3 and 4: There is not just one way to do this. You should find your own way that works best for you and your style of playing. I liked to stand up and tried to copy a proper golf swing, meaning drives, chip shots and putts. Others prefer sitting down in a sofa, flicking their wrists. Whatever you do, there are two factors that determine your success. 1: your ability to repeat your motion, meaning perfecting your technique; hitting the ball the same way every time, controlling both speed and direction. And 2: your desire and efforts to learn the game, meaning you need to play a lot(!) to get really good. Remember, this video shows my record; my best result ever! It almost looks easy, doesn't it? Yet, it took me literally a thousand rounds to get there. In that process you'll get familiar with how the different winds affect your shot. You'll learn how the ball just escapes the tree and where you need to aim so that the break on the green is just right for the ball to go in. The constant repeating and feedback that my game was getting better, motivated me. - Some people get bored quickly and are not patient enough to study the game deeply. You need to find out what works for you. Set goals for yourself, and have fun playing! I played in solitude; you might get a kick out of playing together with your friends. ... By the way, I did use green altitude maps frequently, although not so much in this particular game. I found it most helpful when assessing speed. The undulated square green is still the best tool. I hope you'll find this helpful in your own game. Best regards, Espen.
@@espenpedersen9540 Thanks for the help ! I already improved to -11 and had a few close calls on eagle chips. I may never get -27 but some day maybe -20
Hey Espen, I saw that you're still active in replying to comments so I thought I'd ask something. Currently, my best is only -21 but I've hit it at least 5-6 times and look to improve my score. I'm curious if there's an official world leaders list or anything like that because I haven't been able to find one online. I just wonder how my score fits into the world record scheme and how many people are really up that high in the 24-27 range. Thanks!
Hi Ethan. Thank you for your question! Your score of -21 is very good. Most people will never get to that level. However, you have quite a bit of work ahead of you, if you are aiming for -24. A lot of repetition is crucial. You need to stay out of the bunkers, and try to avoid the roughs, even! Then you one-putt! It also helps with a good portion of luck in terms of favorable wind - and chip-ins. My first WR and -24 was set back in April of 2010, and I have been fortunate to call myself the WR holder for most of the decade. Today many players have achieved the same score, and some do it on a regular basis... About the record list: Read the intro to my video. And please scroll and read through some of the questions and comments, and I am sure you will find tips and hints on how to improve your game. Patience and persistance is key. I wish you all the best! Espen.
@@espenpedersen9540 Unfortunately, I don't think the link in the video description works anymore. At least, it wouldn't for me. And what you say about wind is definitely true, especially for holes likes 3,5,9, and 16. It can be the difference in an birdie vs eagle very easily. I've now hit -21 eight total times, which is very frustrating but at the same time encouraging because I know I can get past it if I've gotten there so many times. I know I've left some shots on the course when shooting a -21; for example, I vividly remember missing an eagle putt on 18 that would've lead to a -22. But anyway, thanks for your support and I'll be sure to scroll through and find tips to hopefully reach -24 at some point.
Also, I have one specific question. I've seen some golfers use the 3-wood, or spoon as you would call it, on holes 1, 2, and 10. I typically use the iron for those shots and I don't often eagle them, so I was wondering if you think it's worthwhile to learn that technique, if it's really more consistent for getting eagles on those holes. It seems to me like using the 3-wood would be less consistent but maybe it's better for someone who's comfortable with it.
Ethan Davenport Hi there, Ethan. I used this tactic in my own game, specifically on holes 1 and 2. Playing the 3-iron on 1 and spoon/3-wood on 2 allowed me to shoot straighter through rough wind, rolling on to the green instead of bouncing short or on the far side of the pin. I memorized wind speed and direction and was able to score eagle every few minutes. This technique is applicable on other holes as well, but it doesn’t necessarily bring your score down, unless you really work hard at it. My "perfect" -24 WR, concisting of eagles on all 6 par 5s and 1-putts only, lead me to drastic meassures, as other players were able to copy my record score. I needed chip-in eagles and Hole-in-ones on a regular basis! Therefore my focus was on the two first holes in particular. But if you watch Mur45ak1’s Twitch stream, you will see that super low scores are possible with a variation of tactics depending on wind and landing area. Regardless of how you like to play, world class scores can only be achieved by displaying a high degree of concistancy. And concistancy only comes through countless hours of practice. I have said many times; this is not for everyone. If you are like me; and don’t mind the repetitions, love the details and scrutiny, you will really find inspiration as the "unexpected" chip-in eagles become ever so frequent. I hope you find your own way and that these words can provide some inspiration. Take care! Best regards, Espen.
This would legit impress me if put on a resume.
Hmm, (lol) I might just do that...😉
BeeKatt this comment gave me a hoot. Haha
Currently my record is -12. I hope I and many others will learn from this video on how we can improve, so thank you.
Wow, thanks for the recognition! I am very pleased you found my video inspiring. Best of luck with your game. Espen
+Espen Pedersen I'm getting better! Today I got -15 on 18 holes and -5 on Resort A.
+Espen Pedersen And now -17! Woohoo!
+OfficialSillypooDominoes
You're on fire!!!😀
Wow ur so cool. My record is +7
That was am amazing round. Great job.
Espen.
Espen Pedersen bro, this is absolutely insane. Can you give me some tips on just achieving -18 for the stamp? My current PB is -12
MercurySnake
Thanks, MercurySnake!
Espen.
Espen Pedersen Thank you for the tips dude 👍
Espen Pedersen I finally managed to get the -18 for the stamp after a little under 4 months of play, and I just wanted to thank you again for the great tips.

I never really thought about it a few years ago, but "lately" people have been pointing that out. Cheers, E

I remember watching this video years and years ago. I can’t believe this record is still standing after 7 years! Aspen, you’re a legend bro, also I like how you’re still active with the community and answering questions not a lot of people do that. Even when this record is eventually beaten, your reign on top won’t be forgotten.
Wow, thank you, fasdfasdf, for those kind words☺️...
@@espenpedersen9540 have you ever tried to beat this record?
King Skelethon
Hi King Skelethon.
Typical...🙄
@@espenpedersen9540 didn't expect you had children, anyway congratulations for the third one

Thank you so much, FM.
You have mad skills and thank you for watching and liking my chip in.

This game could have been anything, or everything, but it isn't... It is just so well thought through and ...with 2009-goggles - PERFECT!
Same for me, except that I had no Albatross at all but 2 hole in ones.
Espen, congrats on a great record! I love wii golf and, although I'm far from great at it, I've been playing for awhile. Getting this kind of score is so hard to accomplish because you have no room for error, and I think it should be pointed out that you got -27 without any hole in ones. That's impressive
Thank you very much, Sam! That means a lot coming from a fellow Wii golfer. Much appreciated!
Cincerely, Espen.
Crazy;)..

Your channel is cool too
Hi again Espen,
I'll update you on some things I've talked about in my last few comments.
Sorry for the wall of text but we were due for a quarterly update lol
Hope you're doing well Espen
Tyler

@@espenpedersen9540 Last night, and after making some adjustment based on your comments, I hit -17. I was ecstatic, and my wife was elated as we carefully marched to 18. I had one bogy, 2 eagles, and the rest birdies. It was a blast, and my best overall performance thus. Thank again for all the tips.
hey, I just got my personal record (-19) and I was wondering if you can give me any tips? I struggle on hole 17,5 and 16
Hi Kaden Kozina’s real dad.
I beat this record all the time like just now I got +3
That's not a good thing. You want to get the lowest score in golf not the highest.

Hey Espen, I commented a few days back here, it seems like the comment got deleted somehow (probably because I used some links). Anyway, I hope you are doing well!
I just wanted to update you, to what is happening in the world of WSR Golf (Scoring):
A few days ago the japanese player "Viridian" became the 2nd player to beat your round by scoring a -28!
Best regards,
alnik001
Hi Alnik001. So nice of you to drop a few lines!😊
I heard about this earlier from SirTyler, I think.
1:31 I really felt that :(
Thank you, Jesse!

This is what the front page looked like: web.archive.org/web/20161115142428/www.wii-records.com:80/en-us
I remember, for golf you had the 3-hole records: beginner, intermediate and expert, meaning holes 1-3, 4-6 and 7-9 on the Resort course and 10-12, 13-15 and 16-18 on the Classic course, and obviously the Special holes.

@@espenpedersen9540 hey Espen, at speedrun.comwww.speedrun.com/wsrce#Lowest_Score
We have a few top scores on here.
It turns out there were 3 captures of the 18 hole golf record for WSR, the last of which is from 03 June 2015. web.archive.org/web/20150603022426/www.wii-records.com/en-us/records.php?game_id=457&category_id=21498
A bit outdated probably, but it is something!
How do you hit a perfect shot every time and how do you put spin? I am just amazed. If someone could help me out that would be great!
Hi. No, I’ve seen videos showing glitches, but cannot remember having situations where the replay deviates from what actually happened seconds before.
Hi Robin. I'm glad you found my video inspiring! I am thinking about making a compilation of spectacular shots, but I haven't found the time these last few months. Alas I can't promise you it will happen any time soon either, as my family life requires more focus and golfing has been put aside... But maybe.. Take care! E
My best is now -22 and I got 4 eagles on the back nine
Nice work, my best is also -22!
Wow, Tyler.

In the past couple days I have gotten 2 -24s, I'll link one of them, but it starts during the first hole. That doesn't really matter though.

Hi Igor. Thank you for your comment. Best regards, Espen.

My record on 18 holes is +3 this guy is incredible!!!
That said, You sure did spend a helluva lot of time making this video, and I do realize you have mad wii golf skillz. Nice work.
Hi Espen i made your person on my Nintendo Swich!

Which was the most difficult hole to master/get your target score?
This is so impressive, you are an absolute champ Espen
Thank you, Henry! That is kind of you to say. E
Hey Espen, I managed get a -25 with a par today and just wanted to say I'm coming for that record, hopefully I can potentially tie it by the end of the year if I keep at it 👀
That’s amazing, Benson! Not that many people have made -25. You are getting really close now!👍🏻
That was amazing. I'm suddenly compelled to play this.
(Check it out, if you haven’t already seen it a thousand times…)
I have spent hours visualizing the putting line from the club head to the hole.
Espen.
This is sick my friends and I just got back into it... we play all the time. Got my first albatross on classic 3 today
I am happy you too have had success using some of my strategies to get low scores, and I wish you all the best!😉

Espen Pedersen thanks man, been trying lately to get a lower score. My most common mistake is using a shorter club. Backspin can be really tricky. The worst is when you don’t want it and swing all the way through but still get it anyway. Glad to see you’re staying active

Hei Thomas. E
what's a spoon? is that a 3 wood?
Old term for a fairway wood, yes.

(Uh, Twitch, is that the Thang😎?)

Oh my god big world record -27 awesome job espen
Thank you very much, Roberto!
this run is absurd bc the lowest score u can get wo chip-ins is -24, given u have optimal wind for getting on or near the green in the least amount of strokes. talking abt theoretical scores is pointless when just one chip-in is very hard to pull off, let alone having the consistency to play near-perfectly for 20 minutes
Thank you! And I will be bold enough to say; you are absolutely right! My first -24 round was like that; all eagles on the six par 5s - and 1-putts only.
Best of luck on Your quest, Lonnie!👍🏻
Espen

Wow, that’s great!!😀 I’m so glad!
Good luck playing for even lower scores... Espen
Hey Espen,
I saw that you're still active in replying to comments so I thought I'd ask something.
Ethan Davenport
Hi there, Ethan.
