Hi guys. On this episode I'll be adding some more fish to the aquarium. Join me for the unboxing. tHIS IS WHERE I GOT THEM FROM EBAY kesgrave.tropicals (19995
Awwhh they're Normans Lampeyes! Honestly the most lovely peaceful fish species I have ever kept, & it's SO cool how the males have little 'blinkers' that they flash to impress the ladies, haha
That's a great group of corys. Glad to see the care you take in acclimating them. Hard to tell from a top view but I thing the two extras are lampeyes.
I would recommend not keeping them in the water once it's in the air. The co2 build up lowers the ph so the ammonia in the bag is less toxic. Then when it opens the ph raises and the ammonia shifts its equilibrium becoming more toxic. Most recommend just floating the bag to temp acclimate then add the fish in. This is if they are in the bag an extended time, not just from a lfs
love your vids, but check out aquarium co-op collecting Cory's in Peru the substrate they are on in the wild is so sharp yet they still have their barbels intact but yet everyone tells you not to keep them on gravel be it lfs or videos on here
Luv it n luv the accent, those lil chaps are "sorted". I have growth substrate in tank so its like small round balls. Its not sand but its not rough so I'm hoping it's OK for them. New sub of yours and thoroughly enjoying your vids. Cheers from Perth WA... X Lisa
Great video thanks. I know your the man to ask. How would you go about trapping pygmy Cory's for moving to another tank. There in a heavy planted 10 gallon tank.TIA D I Y trap maybe?
Get them out of the bag ASP! Dont open the bag untill they got the right temp for your tank and put them in right away. Most important if they been in transit for a long time. Better to put them in fresh water at ones then try to aclimate them slowly. The nitrit can rocket in contact with fresh air and the pH change drastic! Got them in my 145l tank and love to see them in action =D
I bought twenty-five Corydoras Pygmaeus for my 150 gallon (600 liter) aquarium and they are not schooling. The tank is heavily planted and full of nanos and neocaridina. The Corydoras Pygmaeus are very active, seem to be healthy, and are everywhere in the aquarium - but they don’t seem to care about staying in groups. Not even small groups of two or three. Any thoughts?
13 months later, and I'm not the Mark you were hoping for... 25 pygmaeus sounds like a lot, but in that large of a tank, you probably need higher numbers to get schooling or shoaling behavior.
I love your shows. Fantastic job. very creative. My concern is when you're acclimating I see you pour in all the water, everything in to the tank. if the water is mixed with the water from where they came, you can contaminate your tanks with some other bugs or desease. 100% Water change would be MORE like it.
Loving your content, great to see how you care for your fishy friends. I'm thinking about getting a school of Pygmy Corydoras shortly. How are they getting on?
Hi Mark, great video as always, love the new fish. Btw i got some shrimp in the post this morning myself :). If I can, I would like to ask you for some advice regarding a livebearers tank I am running: I have some platies and guppies alongside some shrimp, I started suspecting the tank might have ich a week ago when the fish started flicking on the rocks and today I saw the first white spot on a female guppy so I need to treat it. For starters, I raised the temperature of the tank and I was looking to get a treatment.. do you know any that would be safe for the shrimp and the plants? Could ich be the reason why some of my male platies have started to be a bit mild and hiding around the tank? maybe they don't have the energy to court the females and fight off the other males but I don't know. Also the last question I have is about female guppy, it is now my 4th female guppy dying after giving birth and I have no idea why this keeps happening... water parameters are all good and such and all other fish are fine (ich aside) any ideae what might cause that? Thank you very much for taking the time to give advice and help other hobbyists it is extremely appreciated :)
With guppies you have to watch how many males to females you have. The males will chase the females relentlessly to breed even if their carrying young.this will stress them so much that they will die. As for the white spot I would remove the fish a treat in a doctor tank or large bucket .
Wouldn't shrimps eat any eggs laid by the pygmies? The fry hatching in a well established tank should feed on naturally occuring infusoria and aufvuchs.
I’ve got some banana worm and microworm cultures if you want me to send some for you Mark. I’ve got some white worms too, if you want some for Jack. 🐡🐡🐡
Love 💖 love your vids I’ve learnt so much from you I have 2 large tanks one with 3 elephant nose plecos two white spotted and one albino .and in my other tank I have 3 bristle nose pleco babies 2 long fin albino and one black. I also have 2 fantail fancy goldfish. 3 weather loaches 2 golden albino and one calico. And 4 different species of corydoras and both tanks are planted live plants. I have sponge filters and a waterfall system with a filter. My tanks been set up now for 2 and a half years and I do frequent water changes and use water conditioner and still get cloudy water what can it be I live in London and the water ph is 7/7.3 can you pls give me some advice thank you mark love 💕 from London uk 🇬🇧💗🐡🐠🐟🐚🐙🦐🦞🦀💕💖
thank you so much for the reply, your show is so inspiring , been away from fish keeping for many years, thanks for all the great info, wish you the best
ive jst ordered 7 pygmys and 8 guppies from this company my 1st ever tank has jst finished cycling its a 45l so plenty of room for them im glad to see there a reputable place
MARK'S AQUATICS yes, but some how it cleared up! I did about 3 more water changes and is almost crystal clear! I'm debating if I should add some more and risk getting the water dirty, it's only 1 1/2 inches deep,
Sydney Sharkk A good way to clean sand is get a pair of tights fill one if the legs with sand and rinse all the dust off under your tap moving it around . Or just rinse in a bucket.
your betta tank build turned out awesome! one of a kind! Jack is a beauty. He looks super happy.
Thank you. 👍😀

That's a great group of corys. Glad to see the care you take in acclimating them. Hard to tell from a top view but I thing the two extras are lampeyes.
Fishman cheers! Yes they are lampeyes .
They fit in perfectly, this is art. 💪
Some chili rasboras would look nice in there with them I think! The reds would be very pretty! I love the little corys!
Love your video! They are so cute 😊 Thanks for sharing.
Nice to see you decided on the pygmy corys Mark (just as I suggested! lol). The tank looks great now.
btw you should have 14 in total now. I think you got those other two fish by mistake instead of two of the corys!
Beautiful liitle pygmy corys. I love them. They are always busy and usually run in a pack.
My favourite fish. Pure entertainment. A good choice.
`Hiya Mark, I really admire your workmanship on all the projects you tackle, great inspiration to all fish keepers !. ;-)x
Pleeeeeeeease, a little bit more on Jack, he is so beautiful and so is the tank :-D
just beautiful!!! you have so much knowledge about fish; I learn something new every video!! be well :)
Good video Mark from Mark from the USA.
Great little fish!!
Hi Mark.
Nice Cory's.
That Tank looks better and better every time I see it.
I gave it a like, and thank you for sharing.
Ultimate Fishkeeping Show Thank you 😀🖒
Thanks for your advice over the last couple of days, I bought another 3 cherry reds today to see if I have any luck with them.
I would probably put Pea puffers in that tank, or one of your small tank creations. The little puffers are big on personality.
Cute little things!!
Nice tank there. Inspiring.

overnight it wouldn't be a big build up so it shouldn't be a problem but I agree with you if they've been in there for over 36 hours

Fish unboxings... woop woop. :D
That s awsome. I’ve just bought 8 dwarf corys.. I hope they will breed but it’s not a species only tank
Really nice nano fish. Such cuties. 💦
Looking awesome!
Luv it n luv the accent, those lil chaps are "sorted".

I use hikari first bites with my cory fry.
by Mark ! ;-)x

Apparently they only eat dead and decaying eggs.
Shrimps is good to ceep in a tank with spawning fish for that reson.
And shrimp make a awesome food to ;)

Hi is it in your aquarium?
