      Well there is millions of lives out here who can be saved with a single fucking dollar or even for free (like stop the fucking wars)what's is so special with him? How do you value a life of a human being? He can't be saved. At least for the next few decades there will be no cure for that horrible disease. You all people try to foul yourself that you act the good,do what the media says. You all try to save someone you will never know when you can help the people who are near to you. How many time these ignore a homeless guy who was infront of them how many times any of us did the same thing? Countless. If you want to save someone first save those who can be saved.(I dont have anything against Peter Frates I wish him the best)

      nikos galatis You're a completely normal, healthy, red-blooded man...then, you feel something in your leg...something's not right. Then, you other leg starts to bother you...cramping, tingling...fucking annoying, but you go on. Then, the pain in your legs get worse...then it travels to your arms. You're not feeling good....your balance is off. You fall...just fall, out of fucking nowhere....but you shrug it off. Then, you you're having trouble writing/typing....the weakness in your legs and arms are getting worse. Doctor says ALS...2 years, maybe. Then you die.....fuck. FUCK!!!! Then, your muscles are so weak, you need to use a walker.....then, a wheelchair. Your stupid goddamed legs won't even lift on their own. Shit. YOU CAN'T WALK!!! Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck. Your arms are too weak to write, or type, or hold up a book to read, or feed yourself, or....wipe your own ass. Goddamnit. Why is this happening to me???!!!! One day, while your wife or daughter or friend or nurse is feeding you, your swallowing muscles fail...and you choke. You can't even swallow your spit. You drool....your speech is slurred. No one can understand a goddamned thing you're saying. YOU CAN'T TALK!!!! Shit. Fuck. By this time, your legs and arms are paralyzed...your muscles have died. You can't walk, you can't talk, you can't eat, you can't shower, you can't go to the bathroom by yourself....but your mind? Your mind is still FULLY AWARE of what is going on....AND YOU CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING TO YOU!!!! FUCKING SHIT!!!!! You are in pain, you blame yourself....what did I do to get ALS??? Why???? Then....you have trouble breathing....your respiratory muscles are failing and it's FUCKING PAINFUL ALL THE TIME!!! Every single breath in and out is fucking torture. Then....your breathing muscles get weaker...and weaker...and weaker....you get pneumonia...FUCK!!! This is it.....you die.
      ALS is a fucking bitch....and you wish him "the best"?

      nikos galatis you make a valid point, but when you mentioned athletes and celebrities missing homeless people or common people, its our human nature to make mistakes and fail to recognize something until it's called upon. You're right, we can't help everyone, but no human's life is more valuable than another life. So it doesn't matter even if we do help someone we don't personally know rather than someone that's close to us. It's about the big picture of wanting to help and contributing.

    To those complaining about the challenge "wasting" water, there is some truth to your comment. However the whole concept of wasting requires that nothing is achieved out of the process. In this case, water is not wasted as it helped this campaign go viral, leading to increased awareness and funding for the cause ($50 million as of today). It is true that in an ideal world water would not have to used for a challenge to gain awareness, but then again these are just costs that have to be balanced out by the individual themselves.

    Oh I love RUclips. All that negativity about how shameless ALS Ice Bucket Challenge wasting water for a fundraising.
    "If it isn't fun or unique, it won't go viral. If it doesn't go viral, it won't get huge coverage. If it doesn't have huge coverage, it won't raise that much money."
    Give yourself a moment to let it sink in.
    So tell me again how much money they have raised (or better -- you've donated) for ALS research before the viral of ALS Ice Bucket Challenge? Hell, I won't even know what's ALS if this didn't go viral.

    People gotta start doing this with the intention to create awareness and not because it's a trend. It's sad to only see people take the challenge, post videos of themselves and nominate people. They don't even put in an effort to mention the organization and obviously not donating. :\

    • @skysuankai
      @skysuankai 10 лет назад

      ***** Errm... Which part of my post said that no one is donating? lol. It is quite obvious that I'm saying majority of those who did the challenge are for the fun of it and not for the fund, no? It's true that $62 mil is a lot, but if every single person who took the challenge actually donated, they would have a lot more than that.

Hate on the way this money has not corrected the situation and how rich countries get richer..coz the UK does a lot for a ickle nation and we is broke man xx

    I love this charity and what this guy has done to help this charity, but I'm annoyed that other charities are asking for donations when people are doing this challenge, not aswell as donating to als but to them selves only like macmillian cancer support are doing this. It really bugs me how something so great can be used in so many ways, fair enough I love supporting charity but they should come up with their own idea's not others.
