Unused teaser trailer for GREMLINS, produced by Warner Bros., test-screened and rejected for the film's publicity campaign. Visit us at our official website at Amblin.com.
I discovered this teaser last year on another channel and it was the coolest thing to witness, it doesn't show footage of the movie and it teases the appearance of Gizmo like the poster. The marketing team did a great job when promoting the film.
The marketing for the movie was kind of misleading. It leaned heavily on the fact that Steven Spielberg was an executive producer, didn't give audiences a good look at the Mogwai or Gremlins, and kind of presented the movie as the next E.T. My guess is they didn't use this since it leaned too heavily into the horror elements of the movie.

Really cool. I’m still looking forward for the upcoming Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai
First time whatching this ...almost 40 years later !
0:57 Uh-oh...
I can't help but think that this trailer was done by the same who did the trailer for A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3.
👏 Steven is a #MasterofCinema
Why this is AWSOME!!🤩
1:06 Steven Spielberg will introduce you to _Gremlins_
that's how you do a teaser!!
Somehow i feel this is more reflecting the R rated version than the one we got, though at this point it was obviously redone
This fits the mood and tone of the film to a T! I wonder why it was rejected? Too dark/horror vibe?

I'm guessing that's why the approved teaser has "directed by Joe Dante" added in,along with getting them wet being the number one rule?
1:06 what’s the Music they used in the background
I never see this teaser.
This was unfortunately rejected by the studio, there is an actual teaser the studio approved of and you can find it on RUclips.
The gremlins is that new presentation?
Released same day as ghostbusters
I realize it mirrors the Jaws trailer.
Both Spielberg movies
