Jack Wilson No, he unfortunately didn’t win or get nominated for any Oscars. The closest thing he ever got to an Oscar was a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in “Brothers.” But he honestly deserved an Oscar nomination for it.
Tobey has acted in a ton of acclaimed films since the 90s and he is very accomplished. Agree that his acting has soul and he provides a vulnerability in the role of Peter Parker that makes the audience really connect with him. He’s the best Peter/Spider-Man.
And the smile she gives Peter when she realizes he was Spider-Man all along... You can see how much she's happy with this reveal as it sinks in. Awwww.
Tom achieved this in Endgame final battle when the armies charged. He literally swings on nothing. There was no high rises or anything in that scene and somehow he was swinging
@@dylana.9057 I'm such a big Tobey fan! If he's not in it I will probably actually tear up a little bit from the disappointment. It's been built up sooo much!
Octavius is like The Green Goblin, he became dark by accident and had something controlling him. The serum controlled Green Goblin and made Green Goblin insane and the tentacles controlled Dr Octopus. It is good that he managed to break free of the tentacles control and helped undo the damage and the line 'I will not die a monster' sad and heroic
@JustChizzin Norman was only trying to create a serum to help people evolve, and made the mistake of making himself the first test subject. You can see him battling the evil side of himself from the serum the whole movie.
Well put, even if I think they are slightly different. Norman was quite literally taken over by a demon, an alter ego born from his worst instincts and desires. By the time he fully became the Goblin, there was nothing left of his original self. Otto, on the other hand, always remained himself, but, blinded by pain and sorrow for the loss of Rosie, simply focused on his (already existing) obsession for his dream at the expense of everything else.
I absolutely love seeing Mary Jane's reaction when she finally discovers who Spider-man has been this whole entire time. The man who has saved her life over and over again. It looks like a weight has been lifted off her chest and that's when she slowly begins to cry because her protecter is the man that she has loved all along. My favorite comicbook couple. Peter Parker & Mary Jane Watson beautifully acted by Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. I am grateful that they were able to bring these characters to life.
I remember watching Maguire's Spider-Man when I was 8 and no super hero movie has ever made me this emotional. I remember buying the spidey suit and watching this film over and over while wearing it, and everytime I get emotional.
Peter/Mary Jane are one of my favorite Marvel couples of all time. Tobey and Kirsten played them beautifully. I would have loved to see scenes between Andrew and Shailene, but I think Tom and Zendaya (assuming she plays MJ, or a "version" of MJ) will do them justice.
yeah yeah yeah! I watch her reaction again and again! It stirs up a lot of emotions inside me, you can literally feel her outpouring love at the moment! Very great scene!
Don't think any Spider-man adaptation will compare to Raimi's first two films. They just have a special magic to them that certainly Marvel won't ever be able to compete with. Mary-Jane's reaction to Peter in this clip just proves that. Amazing scene, acting, music and directing.
@@NormalSpeedGamer Well of course... Why would they go into the lengths of making a chemistry between 2 people who one will go away in the end of the damn film and never come back?
I love Spider-Man in the new Marvel Universe films but Raimi’s Spider-Man films (even elements of 3) have a certain magic to them. They’re just so damn earnest. They’re epic but sweet, with grand heroism, secret identities, betrayal, love lost and found again. They’re about becoming an adult in a lot of ways. They’ve got genuine wonder and have some of the best music in any film period.
" This is really heavy " I love this part so bad. It connects to the fact that being spiderman is extremely tough, but somehow he can make it through because of people he cares about. Especially Mary Jane.
It's also Peter Parker being Peter Parker A bit goofy, shy, introverted Uncomfortable by social interactions, droppin some kind of pun cause he doesn't really know how to chat with the love of her life 🤣
This right here is why I find these films superior to MCU's depiction, everytime someone has discovered his identity its been played for laughs, Its cooler with a dramatic reveal
The movies are just too invested into that "we are all so cool and emotionless" thing. The old movies were honest and heartfelt. Thats why the MCU sucks and the old spiderman movies (I + II) are amazing.
One of my favorite movie moments of all time and delivered well. She goes to shock, to disbelief, to denial, to realization, to acceptance, then happiness.
MJ with Tobey: Accidentally found out that he is Spider-Man Gwen with Andrew: He tell her that he is Spider-Man MJ with Tom: She tells Peter that he is Spider-Man
I watched this first when I was 9, Im now 18 and it still makes me tear up Edit: I’m now 22 and no way home made me cry more than any movie that came before
Imagine the moment you realize the man you love is Spider-Man... and you realize why he hasn't been fully open with you all this time... that he does love you dearly, but desperately trying to protect you. Oof.
Tom Holland sucks. Too short, too small, too childish. His best friend looks like an ogre’s shit. And the MCU really fucked his potential up. He was pretty much iron man’s sidekick. Fuck that. Sony is the shit for grown folks

Doc Oc is literally a great person in both films he’s in
You know people hate on him but he is honestly a pretty good actor. His acting has soul in it
His acting is better than the other actors for Spider-Man. Especially in this film
Jack Wilson No, he unfortunately didn’t win or get nominated for any Oscars. The closest thing he ever got to an Oscar was a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in “Brothers.” But he honestly deserved an Oscar nomination for it.
nobody hates on him, his persona looked perfect for both peter parker and spiderman
Tobey has acted in a ton of acclaimed films since the 90s and he is very accomplished. Agree that his acting has soul and he provides a vulnerability in the role of Peter Parker that makes the audience really connect with him. He’s the best Peter/Spider-Man.

@@NormalSpeedGamer

I love Spider-Man in the new Marvel Universe films but Raimi’s Spider-Man films (even elements of 3) have a certain magic to them. They’re just so damn earnest. They’re epic but sweet, with grand heroism, secret identities, betrayal, love lost and found again. They’re about becoming an adult in a lot of ways. They’ve got genuine wonder and have some of the best music in any film period.
Yes. MCU is good but this is just way better than most of today's superhero films.
This is one of the scenes that made me fall in love with these movies. Her reaction when she realizes it’s Peter, THE INHALE, just so authentic.

@@mattgrant5341 I'm gonna put some dirt in your eye
The movies are just too invested into that "we are all so cool and emotionless" thing. The old movies were honest and heartfelt. Thats why the MCU sucks and the old spiderman movies (I + II) are amazing.
