I sold my 66 longbed last year in july. It had a 250 inline 6. Yours reminds me of mine so much! I seriously regret selling it. It had a t5 trans from a 1989 s15 GMC Sonoma. It kept up with traffic with the t5 trans mod. I saw that your c10 stopped working. If its misfiring check your points! Set them at the recommended gap! Points gap should be between .010 and .020! Also, check for play in the distributor rotor! The shouldn't be any play in the rotor and if there is use a little bit of super glue so that it doesn't move!!! The plastic rotors from auto parts stores have to fit nice and tight on the distributor shaft keyway. Took me forever to figure out why mine misfired. It was the freaking play on the dist. rotor!!! Thats why I recommend a little bit of glue to keep it from wobbling around in the distributor. Oh yeah the timing should also be set to spec 2 to 8 degrees BTDC I believe. Anyways... BEAUTIFUL PICKUP! GOD BLESS!✝
I appreciate the advice. Never worked on a straight six before and I was expecting this to be underpowered, but not quite this much. Next video coming in a few days, you’ll get a hint as to why its mis-firing so bad. Definitely want to get this 235 running right. It has a SM420 trans with 3.73 rear gears.
@@stollmeyerracing Them stovebolt engines are super reliable! That SM420 with 3.73 combo is a great combo! Mine came with the SM318 3 speed aka The granny tranny aka The peanut. It also had 3.73 diff gears. I had to replace the 3 speed cause its top speed was like 65 mph @ redline! I was able to daily drive in peace once I installed the t5. Carburetor was a Rochester b. Gas milage improved dramatically! Definitely going to look forward toward your next Vid! 💯
