I have the reverse problem. My front qd doesn't work but my rear does. Unfortunately there's nothing to really adjust or back out. Also none of the qd points on the ultima are captive. They're all 360 free swivel. Guess I'll have to spend another $100 on the GG&G replacement for the front qd mounts.
@@TheCenturion8404 my recommendation for buying swivels came from other channels that got the shotgun before me. They mentioned having swivel problems and one channel said Beretta told them to remove excess plastic and the other channel recommend the BlueForce gear swivels.
I did buy the blue force gear QD sling swivel, but it kept popping out like all the others. I have the tiger stripe finish and I really didn’t want to grind up that pretty paint job. So I got to thinking is there a way to push the QD socket out more? I took a closer look and there was, if you take an Allen wrench you unscrew it a little bit so it will seat in there. It also seem to work best using a magpul QD sling swivel.
This is good to know. They must really be seating these mounts deep into the stock. I didn’t wanna back mine out because I wasn’t sure if it would loosen it.
There’s plenty of threading so you don’t have to worry about backing it out too much. Next time you have it out of your safe pop at the swing swivel and have a look.
@@ronin11624 will do! The Blue Force Gear swivels will stay but a lot of people love their Magpul. I do know some folks have had issues with the front mount and certain swivels not staying.

The tiger stripe model has a higher MSRP and was a limited run but yeah, these are way cheaper now and I expected that to happen. Good call on the Allen key use.
Yup yet so many other channels that reviewed this gun before me never mentioned that. I’m gonna whine and complain here but I honestly feel like it should have been set to the proper depth from the factory instead of resting under the plastic mold.
Thanks! I wasn’t trying to be click batey I just figured for a gun with some sort of “duty” title applied to it that it would accept something as simple as a sling with no complaints, especially considering the swivels that I chose which were made to fit QD dimensions.

I have a really dumb question I can't find an answer to. Can I get a longer 28" barrel for an Ultima Patrol for skeet/trap? I'd like to be able to swap barrels for different roles.
I’m gonna say “no” and my guess is that the gas system is technically different between the patrol and non patrol Ultima shotguns. The gas ports and how the Patrol is tuned is different from non Patrol models. Maybe try a different choke tube like “modified” and see if you can’t hit skeet with it. It may work for recreational play and not serious competition.
Hey Travis, I bought this shotgun. My question to you is, did you remove the rubber plug in the stock and put in the QD mount? Beretta told me to leave the plug in, with that there is no way to us a QD. Thanks in advance for your input.
It may be the crimping on the shotshells that is causing the issue. Have you tried loading 7 rounds of regular shot to see if they will go? I've heard that some european shotshells have a different type of fold/crimp on the shotshell that takes up extra space that USA sourced shotshells dont and when you multiply that extra amount of space x rounds, that eats up space for round #7
Just bought one and it shot four shells and the trigger locked up! Known problem. Wish I would have researched it more. I'm told I have to send the firearm back to Beretta and they fix it and send it back - about a six week lag!!!!!!. If Beretta knows this is a problem, why are they not recalling all the ser #'s with this problem or have new trigger assemblies ready on the shelf to send to customers??? By not having either, it just pisses off customers off and gives Beretta a bad name. My opinion.

Not my favorite way to fix an expensive shotgun even though it's mostly thought of as a "cheap" 1301. It's annoying to me how hyped the beretta autos are because it seems like they're establishing wide variation in QC if you dig a little deeper. The gun is starting to feel overpriced to me in some ways
@@jf7393 it is and a bit of the premium you are paying is that LEO/Military intention that this shotgun is marketed towards where all things “tactical” demand a premium. I also have a Daniel Defense DDM4A1 that I paid $1600 for. Now they go for over $2K. Is it 3 times better than my PSA carbine with the FN CHF barrel…maybe not but the military pedigree of the DD keeps that price high.
I had the exact same issue on my A300 Patrol as well. I carefully shaved a hair off in front of and behind the mount with a razor knife and a regular QD mount works perfectly. That said, I also installed a Grovtec QD mount on the side of the stock, up high on the right side so that it will hang right when using a 2 point sling. It was simple to drill the stock and put the fitting in place. Beretta should be on top of this...pronto.
I agree. A few peopel suggested using an Allen key to back the mount out a tiny bit. I haven't tried it yet but that may work.
@@travisp11 it will work. Customers shouldn't be shaving their stocks.
How did you reveal the stock QD mount… drill out the plastic cap?
@bwvids there is a rubber cover. Use your fingers or a pair of pliers to remove it.
@@evotunedscc I know. Like an ape I sat there thinking, did they make it without mounts? I don't get the point. Would would think that a product marketed to the LEO market it would have all tactical mounting points at the ready right out of the box.
Unscrew the female portion of the factory mount with a hex key. I believe it will take less than a full turn. Then try it again.
@@EGlideKid yup, we know that now
An $1100.00 should also come with a printed manual.
I agree. The manual is a generic A300 manual, too with a section dedicated to the Patrol which makes it a bit confusing.
The three QD sockets on my A300 are non functional with Magpul or Grovtech QD swivels. I’ll have to get some blueforce gear swivels.
Some people recommend backing out the stock QD mount with an Allen key so that may help but if the mag tube QD mag doesn’t work with the swivels the BlueForce ones may work.
Bruh your a300 is all over the tacticalshotguns subreddit. pretty much the gold standard at this point.
Hey man, I’m not complaining. There’s just a few things that could be a little bit better.
Have you tried a Magpul M Lok QD mount yet? You could put that on the handguard.
The Patrol I just bought takes my QD (magpul), and it appears that maybe they fixed the issue now. Good info nonetheless.
Good deal! Hopefully they got enough calls to customer service to get it right!
So also heard the plastic QD mount up front move when the gun barrel gets hot. Probably end up with Mlock mouth on the forend.
Thanks 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching!
Awesome I’ve been trying to figure out a solution for a long time!
No excess material bro, get an hex wrench and back out the mount
The mount is or swivel cup is adjustable
Yup, we know now.
@@TheCenturion8404 my recommendation for buying swivels came from other channels that got the shotgun before me. They mentioned having swivel problems and one channel said Beretta told them to remove excess plastic and the other channel recommend the BlueForce gear swivels.
Just bought one today …ty brother …
Right on! If you haven’t seen it yet, check out my cleaning video on it
I did buy the blue force gear QD sling swivel, but it kept popping out like all the others.
Great fix tho the QD can be backed out without filing, shaving the stock. Allen head wrench will fix the problem. Also, $1100 too much to pay for the a300 patrol. Exile Armory in Weaver, AL sells them for $855. Score!
The tiger stripe model has a higher MSRP and was a limited run but yeah, these are way cheaper now and I expected that to happen. Good call on the Allen key use.
You can just take an Allen key and stick it into the socket to loosen it up and they will all fit.
Yup yet so many other channels that reviewed this gun before me never mentioned that. I’m gonna whine and complain here but I honestly feel like it should have been set to the proper depth from the factory instead of resting under the plastic mold.
Your complaint as a customer is valid in my opinion.
Thanks! I wasn’t trying to be click batey I just figured for a gun with some sort of “duty” title applied to it that it would accept something as simple as a sling with no complaints, especially considering the swivels that I chose which were made to fit QD dimensions.
I was considering the blue force or the magpul qd points, I guess I know what my decision will be.
There ya go.
Wanted: Heat Shield for Beretta A300
I just bought one and it looks like they left a smooth area on the sleeve that creates a little indentation for the attachment point to seat in. I’ll let everyone know if it works, time to break her in!
Thank You sir I will be ordering these for mine.
Right on! You should be good to go! They are well made sling swivels!
One of the threads on the barrel clamp came out, contacted Beretta and they couldn't help me due to not having the part since its a new shotgun. The barrel clamp is pretty trash not going to lie..but it sucks that it failed before I even shot it.
Im waiting for a steel aftermarket replacement.
P.S I paid $535 for the Mossberg 930 JM Pro tactical with Kryptec Typhoon 10 plus 1 capacity, $49 for SBE precision modified gas piston, and another $60 for Or3gun multi use spacer tube. Well under the $1200 plus maroon initially asked for the Jm pro 940.
Maroon= MSRP auto fill Lol😂
...or you can back it out a thread or two...
Yup, didn’t know it at the time and neither did anyone else that had the same issue on RUclips.
For $40 they should offer a Tiger stripe option as well. Do they make a Tiger stripe sling I wonder 🤔
I may be able to find one but with this being a limited run, it’s hard to say
Thank you. Big help!!
Glad to help!
Garandthumb said just a couple turns on the rear QD Allen bolt remedied the issue
I had no idea at the time
@@travisp11 yeah I just got one and when I’m watching older videos I noticed the smoothed out section on mine. Time will tell if it keeps it from shifting under recoil.
GroveTec invented the QD and they're also in spec
File the swing swivel to remove a few thousands of material, dont mar up the stock it's self if you aren't using the Blue Force swivels...
Using Magpul sling swivels. I had to turn the rear socket out about a 1/8” turn to get the swivel to lock. The front was worse. I had to grind about 15 thousand of the face to get it secure. Shouldn’t have to do this.
I ended up changing out my mag tube and clamp with an aftermarket part from GG & G. I added an MLOK sling mount of the front and she is good. The blue force gear sling worked just fine on the back and the front the front plastic stock mag tube and clamp kept moving.
The BUTTSTOCK qd mount is screwed into the stock, just grab a hex wrench stick it inside the qd slot and give it a quarter to half turn counterclockwise and the whole "PROBLEM" is solved
That is one option. Funny that Beretta didn’t tell the larger RUclips channels it’s all that was necessary.
How do you get the plastic plug out for the QD mount on the stock? Pry it out or drill it out?
I had the same problem. Screwed up the mount some before I decovered it's just a rubber plug. Stick knife in the middle and it'll come straight out. Lol
Just bought a Patrol without this issue. Beretta must’ve fixed it.
Good!
Well mine in the stock works great but neither of the ones on that front clamp will hold properly. Annoying. Gonna see if I can get Beretta to send me a new clamp.
I definitely would too!
thank you, that solve mine..
Glad to help!
thanks for posting this!
No problem!
Use the correct Allen wrench and backout the QD socket about 1/4 of a turn , check for proper function.
Yup. Didn’t know that at the time
Appreciate the vid my man!!
Thanks for watching!
I’m having issue with my front QD mount with Magpul Sling. Any tips on that?
@@jeffkashat4625 many people have had issues with them. I would contact Beretta and request a new piece. I bought the Blue Force Gear sling swivels and they work fine.
I grabbed one as recent as 2 weeks ago and didn’t have this problem
Hi, What sling do you recommend for this shotgun?
Blue force gear or Magpul
Premium shotgun, premium accessories.
Yeah but you would expect a QD mount to be built to a common standard.
My issues the exact opposite. One of the QD amounts on the barrel clamp just won't hold. The other side holds the QD just fine. Go figure.
I’d contact Beretta
@@travisp11 I chatted with them yesterday. Apparently that part is on backorder, this I am to call every two weeks in the hopes they have them in. Otherwise they can't order one for me. You'd think they'd open a warranty claim and fill it when they get the clamp in stock. In the meantime they directed me to GG&G and Nordic for aftermarket solutions.
@@travisp11 I did, and apparently they cannot open a warranty claim as the replacement part is not in stock. Oddly enough they recommended I call back every two weeks and in the meantime directed me to some aftermarket options.
I'm contemplating putting the defective side on a bench grinder to bring the outside of the port down a 16th of an inch and then see if the QD will seat.
How many rounds can you go in between cleanings before you have issues? I thought I heard one reviewer mention the owners manual say 200. Is that true? Because after I 940ed my Mossberg 930 with legit the exact aftermarket parts from SBE Precision and ORG3gun mine can go 2000 plus rounds as opposed to original 350 rounds in between cleaning. Please let me know because I was on the fence on the A300 ultima or the 1301
James Reeves over on TFB TV did 500 rounds with no problems. The manual says if you shoot all lead you should clean it after 200, I only did about 50 in my range test and it wasnt very dirty when I took it apart to clean it.
Just picked up the a300 patrol. Are the iron sights adjustable
Nope. They are fixed.
Hey. Can you test the rapid fire. I’ve heard the trigger hangs when you rapid fire, where you can outrun the trigger.
When I go to the range soon with it I will.
I do know that the gun is slower to cycle than the A1301 and have read about trigger issues on Ultima models made in the past.
@@travisp11 thank you. Looking forward to it.
@@coffeeandgunsandammoastron4137 same here!
Agreed, ridiculous issue for this gun to have. Guess I'm buying brand new Blue Force swivels to replace my brand new QDM swivels 🙄
Try what you have (or return them if you haven't opened them.) You can use whatever you want on the front one. And don't forget, this problem may not be present on all of em but I would love to hear if yours has the same issus as mine.
@@travisp11 mine is actually the opposite, the sling works in the buttstock but not the front.
@@HardEarnedBacon Dang!
Don't cut it! There's an Allen inside. Just give it a half turn to the left
Yup. Something I didn’t discover till after I made this video.
Can the a300 patrol handguard/forearm grip be switched over to fit on the 1301
I believe so and vice versa. If you can try to get one from somebody before you buy it but I believe that James Reeves over at TFB TV confirmed it.
I just bought mine. Did yours come plugged? I'm only able to load 2 shells. If so, how does one remove it? It's my first shotgun so, I'm clueless.
Mine didn’t come with a barrel plug.
I was lucky. Didn’t have that issue with mine.
Good!
Back out with allen wrench, no carving
Yup. Didn't realize that at the time.
@@travisp11 thank you!
@@DISABLED12-7 you are welcome!
Hey Travis, I bought this shotgun. My question to you is, did you remove the rubber plug in the stock and put in the QD mount? Beretta told me to leave the plug in, with that there is no way to us a QD. Thanks in advance for your input.
Pop the plug out and you will have QD mount access.
You could just back out the insert about a 1/4 turn. No?
Yup. Didn’t know that at that time.
Thanks for this video! Subscribed.
Welcome to the channel!
Recently purchased this fire arm when trying to load the firearms I can only get 6 2.75 slugs in the 7th won’t go in all the way any advice
@@travisp11 thanks for the info they are fiocchi slugs and there is some extra material on the end
My opinion.
@@stevenn2978 I agree they really seem to be dropping the ball on this product and I’m not gonna make excuses more, but I do know that that the patrol has been a very popular shotgun for them, but still no excuses

Blue force gear qds work fine
Yup!
I got mine yesterday. I noticed on the stock near the butt pad that the material has a bit of give to it. It seems like the fit could be a bit better right in the middle near the butt pad. Is it the same on your gun would you say?
Try tightening the butt pad screws. Mine needs a bit of adhesive towards the bottom of the butt pad
I was having the same issue but for some reason I was able to just rotate the mounts & they locked in place. 🤷🏾♂️ maybe I just got lucky
It’s because the plastic is higher on the front and back than the sides. So that may explain why rotation works for you
Just back it out with an Allen key holy shit lol
What’s funny is at the time I never thought to do that and two of the huge RUclips channels that features this gun also saw that they had the same problem as me
You said $1,100 for the Beretta shotgun? I'd be on Beretta's a$$ to send me mounts that worked. In this case refund my purchase price for the mounts, or at least send me some freebie useful accessories. In the big picture it's a small oversight; OTOH having your sling actually stay attached to the gun *like it is supposed* is a big deal.
I agree.
I need the link to those QD mounts
Check out BlueForce gear.com

No problem 👍
For 1100 it should come with it ! Period
I agree.
Why not send it back and have them fix it?
A few people suggested backing out the QD mount and that is an option but quite a few people have had the same issue as me so who knows is Beretta could fix it.
