    Does no one know you can take a 6mm Allen key and back the QD cup out a few threads? One and a half turns and all QD swivels work.

      Ahh. I honestly didn’t know that as this is the first firearm that I have run into a situation where the QD mount was not above the mounting surface. I just assumed the mount was molded into the stock and was part of it.

      I figured I’d better check the comments before I left a similar one. Simple fix if you like the orientation of that socket, but I put one on the right side of the stock because I didn’t like how that bottom mounted one made the shotgun hang.

      Yup. Another method is to grind down the tip of the swivel, reducing the length by a fraction, so it sets deeper in the "cup" and it worked great too.

  • @evotunedscc
    @evotunedscc Год назад +10

    EASY FIX: The QD cup has an allen wrench socket because of the way it installs into the stock -- use a hex key / allen key wrench to unscrew the QD cup by one turn. The QD cup will back out from the stock and the QD slings will engage.
    The QD cup installed to this original depth allows the cover to fit flush with the stock and mitigate snagging.
    There is definitely no need to remove stock material using a rotary cutter/grinder -- please don't suggest this.

    Magpul QD sling swivel works fine in mine, which I got a month ago.

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  Год назад

      What I said was the smaller diameter of the Blue Force sling swivel allows it to mount on the inset rear mounting point, therefore it is better for this shotgun because it works. What I didn't realize at the time is that I could back out the sling mount QD point with an allen key. I'm gonna make another video doing that and we will see if the Magpul mount works. The Blue Force button is a bit harder to push which some may see as an advantage or disadvantage. As for Magpul, I've been a customer and fan of theirs for nearly a decade. Last thing I want to add is in the comments on this video people have been complaining about the Magpul sling swivel not working on the front QD mount. I believe this is due to the QD mount being a bit out of spec on the gun so this is not Magpuls fault.

      @@travisp11 Fair enough - I see what you're saying, but I don't think I really agree with it. I'd think the smaller diameter as not being a plus as long as the swivel will...well, swivel...360 degrees.
      Anyway. not trying to get in a neckbeard pedantic argument, so I'll just say that I've tried both the standard and heavy duty (has the triangle-ish sling loop) Magpul swivels, and they both do 360 without popping free. Looks like Beretta jumped in and corrected the issue within the last couple months.
      I also had zero issues with the front QD sockets.
      I have a M+M M10X-Z where the rear QD socket is not cut deep enough to take the Magpul swivels, and it's really frustrating. Especially after they told me it was cut to spec and that chinese knock-offs or "newer Magpul swivels" are the only ones with "problems". Then they told me I should use a dremel to deepen the ball-bearing divots inside the socket. 😶 Seriously? I need to take a dremel to a rifle that cost $1800 to "fix" a problem that is not isolated to "new" Magpul swivels, but every damn swivel I've tried on it? I have loooots of QD slings. 😬
      Anyhow, cheers, and thank you for the video!

So I got to thinking is there a way to push the QD socket out more? I took a closer look and there was, if you take an Allen wrench you unscrew it a little bit so it will seat in there.
