Hello Chris. Thank you for the very informative videos. Is there any chance you can create one covering a Franklin Electric deluxe box and how the NC, (normally closed float) and NO float are wired to it? My NC float is tripping the box even after I purchased a new one. It does not trip when no float is connected to the wires in the tank. I was hoping to temporarily bypass this float to allow my well to fill the tank so that I can irrigate my landscape until someone much smarter than me can see what the problem is.
Well shut off as I ran a garden hose for 2 days and drained the well. I inspected the (new, by the way) Pressure Switch (good) and voltage current at various places (good) and then found the note on the control box, as in your video: "Overload must be reset for Motor to start." So, I pressed the single Red button on the bottom, and successfully got power to the control box. However, when I then turned switch on at the Pressure Switch, power immediately tripped off again at the Pumptec "no load sensor - pump protection system" box. And now, I cannot reset the red overload control box button - nothing happens. What do you suppose is going on now?
My franking pump doesn't have green wire coming fromm the motor.

what if the reset botton is deffective? is there any effect on the supply voltage to the capacitor to motor?
My well haven't been working I turned the well on at the meter and hooked up the control box and it started smoking after about 10 seconds. So I'm guessing it's the control box was the problem am I right but I just bought another control box 1/2 hp but I don't know how to hook it up
I have an FE control box Model 282 3528 114 running a single phase 3 wire FE 2.2kW motor/pump model SVM 150/19.
Each time I turn on the pump, it runs for 15-20 seconds then the breaker trips. During these 15-20 secs, the pressure is very good.
Where is my problem?
I have changed the submersible cable from 2.5mm to 6mm but the problem still persists.
Please my 3phase franklin pump on electricity its 4000volts 10amps but pumps with very low pressure but on generator 400volts 12amps pumps reasonably. Please what do I need to do to get it to pump well on electricity. Thanks
We live in cold Alaska..There is power on both sides of the pressure switch..next I pulled the cover off the well tube to see if there were wire nuts to test and heard the pump start and then stop two seconds or so later...Can I assume that most likely this indicates a frozen pipe? Or could this also indicate a bad control box?
Thanks for the question. Have you checked the nipple that attaches to the pressure switch for a buildup of sediment? Also, check the pressure tank to make sure it is set to 2 PSI below the pump's cut-on pressure. If you are not getting any pressure at the pressure tank/switch then it is likely that your incoming pipe is frozen.

Hi Sir, Thanks for your educational videos. If we don't know the hp of the single phase 3-wire motor and the control box is missing how can we figure what of control box is needed ?
The body of the submersible motor has a laser tag on it, on it you will notice the specs of the motor.
look at the pumps at the nearest home box store, see if the larger ones are bigger. If not ask how deep the well for each size pump. Compare that to how deep you are/need to be, that should tell you what you got.

Do I need an external Pump start relay if Im using this with an irrigation system?
If you have the deluxe control box it has a contactor in it. If you have a standard control box it would require an external pump start relay.
does the hp rating on the box and the pump have to match
The HP rating of the control box and the motor have to match, yes.
My start up pump connection is being trip and my panel controller is not good I try to reset but still not not working how can I replace the start up or the capacitor because my pump was having pumping or no water comes and they my start up was not good

I have everything hook up pressure tank and breaker .but the control box has no power why
Do you have power at the pressure switch?
Break in wiring, bad breaker, wrong location(wrong breaker). Test for voltage at output screws of breaker. If 230V+/- is present, turn off breaker,remove wires, join them with wire nut, go to control box remove 'hot' wires, read a short circuit with ohmmeter, release wires from wire nut at panel, read open with ohmmeter at wires from control box. One of the named faults will show up from this. You may have to rerun wiring to control box, or change a breaker. Be sure pump is primed with water.
How to connect the load side terminal(yellow-red-black) correctly to the motor?
The colors labeled on the terminals match the color of the wires on the motor
@@RCworstwater what if wires are not color coded, and difficult to identify connections especially if wirings has been worked with and not labelled properly?
@@RCworstwater also is it normal to have different currents running along the 3 wires? The common, starting and main?

Why the contact on 2nd box need information?
External contactor may already be in the circuit, hence the box without a contactor.

Do you have a standard or deluxe box? Do you know the part #?
Control box dead, after 30 years. I replaced it with the same model, 2hp rating.
However, it seems that the pump is 1.5hp, not 2hp. Is that a problem?
It’s impossible to verify because the pump is in the well.
There is no problem if the pump is 1.5 HP and the motor it´s 2 HP.

2hp motor after afiew hours overloded...problem is where..tanks
Quite likely could be tank, as generally we have the pump running for only a fraction of that much time. If the tank looses air in bladder it will cause the pump to keep running, or a leak in pipes somewhere in the system, good luck.
