People wonder why and how she struggled with mental illness. At such an early age, I can’t think of anything more destabilizing for a young woman than to get an abortion that she doesn’t want and with the man that she is in love with. My heart breaks for her. This does not sound like this was her choice.
That's what I think. Even if Justin had been supportive, her dad and agents never would've let her have it. They would've pulled a contract violation or guilt or, if need be, had her committed and made medical decisions for her for a few weeks. Not enough people understand the trauma of being made to have an abortion you don't want or being denied one that you do.
It definetely wasn't. And she feels guilty for not resisting. The lyrics of Everytime show that.

She did NOT have any sort of morality clause with her father when she was 19. You have no idea what you are talking about and when morality clauses are in fact written in contracts. She literally said no one knew she was pregnant and she had the abortion in her home. Stop with the ridiculous assumptions.

I think this and the pressure of being in the spotlight from such a young age with no true protection led to her spiralling. Its not something you recover from.

I loved the unity of the Free Britney Movement. But I detest the reaction some people are receiving in light of the book. Britney has never been someone to be petty. She doesn’t throw mud. Yet her “fans” are dragging people for 20 year old situationships of teenagers. People need to grow up. She doesn’t want your pity, she wants to move on. Don’t paint her as a victim. She’s stronger than that.
Completely agree with you for the most part. But it's well deserved what's coming for justin, he bashed her publicly every chance he got, even years after their breakup, when she was struggling mentally, he couldn't let her in peace even during his conserts in 2007-2008, when he gloated to his audience that she went crazy.

For those of you who want to use Britney's example of "Abortion harms women," this is not an example of abortion hurting women. This is an example of women not having the freedom to make their own choices hurting women. Justin made the decision for her by tearing down her strength and making her feel she had no choice. And even if he had supported her, her father and company were standing right behind him, ready to have her rights stripped at a moment's notice. Britney was never going to be able to have a child that she wanted to have and that was probably a breaking point for her mentally (as it would be for anyone).
If abortion doesn't hurt women that why would it be an agnonizing decision? It's just a medical procedure right?
Her mental disturbance makes more sense to me now. Hope she finds healing.

Who is she today? A grieving, traumatised woman wondering what if? Yes, the timing and the partner was off but there are women in their 60s and over today who are glad they have their kids and grandkids in their lives as they approach their autumnal years and the timing and partner was off for them too. Britney tried for a baby with Sam but miscarried. Age related infertility might have caught up with her which is an irony as she terminated the other pregnancy for being too young...
