  • Arctic Cat brought the Blast ZR and LT to M&M Power Sports on February 27, 2020, so we took the ZR and LT for test rides and filmed a review video before, during, and after the ride with my thoughts.

    Excellent review. Not everyone wants a rocket. This may just fit many people's need and wallet.

    Like you said in the video Scott, if you and your buddies all had a group of these things I think that would be epically fun. Especially in tighter trails or tight boondocking conditions, where the Blast M would shine. Thanks for the post!

      @@sniska I haven't yet, I don't think any dealers in my immediate area had them available to demo. But I have watched a few demo ride videos, including one yesterday that Arctic Cat posted of a Blast M boondocking in some tight pine trees with deeper snow, looked like fun! I hope Cat does well with these machines, I'm a huge Cat guy, they have a solid model range but the Procross has been around for such a long time now that they needed a new model to really spice things up a bit, maybe the BLAST is that model?

    The Blast LT looks like such an awesome Northern ON/QC ice fishing machine. My prediction is that they will gain a 'cult' following among the Bravo/Tundra crowd, if they prove to be reliable long term, which I think they will be.

    Good job on the review Scott. They look like they would be good family sleds for fun.

    You have to remember that while it is only a 400 single, it does not have the parasitic drag that comes with a fan cooling system.

      @@sniska for sure it was a great sled for a 15 year farm boy back in 1972. Biggest problem was the frozen cow turds snapped the cleats. Haha

    Would be getting the Blast or Venom, but with things they way they are now, maybe a 2022 model. The handwarmers need a hi-lo choice.

    I was going to build a long track Elan now I don't have to. And by the way I'm 6 ft 1 220 lb and have had several Elans in the past I manage Woodland and can't be out there with some ridiculously heavy machine that I'm going to be stuck with alone

    Good review and it's about time the smaller sleds have been introduced. To be honest If I was in the market for a smaller sled for my daughters and wife I would lean towards the new Ski doo MXZ sport just because of the engine size, handlebar switches on the ski doo and pricing. The MXZ seems like it would be a longer lasting family sled and overall better value. Just my opinion. Mark

    Nice, but imagine reaching down to the warmers switch on the go.and hitting the reverse button by mistake

    • @sniska
      @sniska  3 года назад

      I know, right? That was pretty confusing and I'd hate to have to change the warmers on the fly. I rode a Ski Doo Expedition for a full day a couple weeks ago and that has a similar configuration, and it was pretty difficult adjusting them when you are moving.

    scott… what do you do ditch riding.... ride it to the bar. easier to ride wide open there then on many of the trails. by trail, I don't mean railroad grade. Personally I think these sleds are cool, but the reviews are just a little out of touch.

    • @mikeh4053
      @mikeh4053 4 года назад

      @@sniska I would say that the sled is best suited in the tight trails of northern wi where there is actual corners, and ones you don't wanna miss at that. central mn, and the UP for me is pinned. central mn id say is flatter than just about anywhere, but neither are places about corner to corner. screw around sleds.

    • @sniska
      @sniska  Год назад

      I think you could get a good couple years out of it! Of course, it depends on who you are riding with, but they seem to hold their value well so if you can find one and ride it for a couple of years and then upgrade, I don't imagine you'd have trouble finding a buyer for it.
