When she put her hand over V's good eye so he couldn't see, that to me was a pure expression of her love for him. He had protected her by trying to stop the inevitable from happening. Their love for each other is self-sacrificing. This MV is amazing and beautiful. IU's voice is beautiful and V, well that young man is so talented! V is amazing in everything he does!
The boxes represent all the prejudices and judgements of the society. And when you don't fit in those boxes society will tear you down. Handicap (IU is deaf or mute and Tae and his blue eye), age gap (woman is older than him that represented by her most of the time dragging him). It's not about the end of the world. But it's them against the whole world. They were happy with their love of each other but people where mocking them, judging them. Their happy times at the restaurant and the wedding party. The anonymous face pointing there fingers.
For me the "box" represents what society, the media, the standard that people in general want to transform you into... and by the pile of clothes how many were lost in this process. Today, if IU and V decided to start dating (for example), thousands of "boxes" would appear to try to fit them into their own molds and would go to extremes for this, when for some people love is simply two people who are enough for each other. other.😢😢😢

I think the message is love wins all even after we leave this world, but with IU you never know, this could be the fist part of a larger story, like in You and I and Above time. We need to remember our Fairy doesn't just sings like an angel but, she's also a creative genius. Anyway Love her and thank you guys for all the work and dedication.

Actually V is one of the most sought after Actor since he made a drama debut in Hwarang. Film outfits and producers are willing to pay with a blank cheque just for V to star in their movie or series. I think V would like to try acting again in one but duty (military enlistment) comes first and of course BTS’ comeback in 2025. It would be phenomenal to put V and IU together in a series and then they would be the one to sing the OST. Such a dream project! 💜💜💜

This mv drained my tears dry. I watched it multiple times and still cried everytime, the scenes are tragic, hitting hard again and again throughout the mv. Along with IU's emotional voice, this is a killer. Masterpiece. IU surpass herself again, this is the best.

What a lovely reaction. I really loved your attention to detail and your thought process. The song was intricately and exquisitely beautiful… IU’s Vocals gave me goosebumps. And I couldn’t agree more about your comments on the acting and the visuals by both. Tae in all his sweetness, softness and gentleness was the honestly the definition of beauty. There was something so pretty and beautifully vulnerable and delicate about him, that touches the heart.
In terms of the meaning… In the Korean press releases of this song used in all the articles earlier today and media… IU said that ‘I want to respect and support everyone who loves and lives in various ways with love rather than hate’ this and the statement before Love Wins was released which talked about people who face prejudices and obstacles in love… Personally make me think that it’s showing that many people in love face stigma’s and obstacles for whatever reason in life for things that they are born with and have no control over. Personally I think when they look through the camera they see the perfect world in which everyone can live without the lense of hate where people don’t see you or judge you for your stigma’s or labels but they see the whole you. Another thing that I find beautiful with the sign language involved is that both IU and Tae have a history of sign language. Tae has communicated in official sign language many times (his birthday is even celebrated by some of deaf community in S.K). I feel the box was representing the hate that tears people down and stripe them of their humanity. Personally I feel there was a wider message in this MV and feel that Tae very specifically chose to appear in this MV because of the message. I’ve lost count of times over the years where he has said he would like to side with the marginalised or the minority in life. From the creation of his drawn characters in numerous content, to his BT21 character, to his fairytale character he chose in the 7th Army Zip content that was killed for being different.
This MV for me was very much Art. Fantastic job IU and Tae. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

@@user-vv7hc7kb5o Tae chose a character from the Korean fairytale Agijangsu Uteri (the might baby) that he felt represented him or that he identifies with. It’s born different with wings on its back…his parents are afraid people will find out that he is different and they will be stigmatised so they choose to kill him instead (very gruesomely ). In the illustrations of the fairytale as part of the zip content, it’s illustrated with a rainbow too at the beginning of the fairytale. 💜
iu also playing a role about the stigmas, fears, and hopes that come with deafness also made me tear up as it reminded me of her own ear condition-especially the scenes within the camcorder where she can freely sing in an ideal world 🥲
all the details in this mv were so well thought out, both their acting was so good, and the storytelling was very digestible to viewers where it can still leave room for interpretation...wow ♡

One theory on the MV, that I've read a lot is that this is set in a dystopia which hunts down disabled people. IU is deaf an V is (part) blind. The box hunts them to eliminate all the diabled people. The world they see through the cameras is how it could have been in this world if they weren't disabled or if they weren't born in such a dystopia.
I hope that made sense as english isn't my first language. I just wanted to mention the theory because it makes the MV even more heartbreaking to me. Thank you for helping me with korean (my fourth language)! :)

The box is a stop button, and the story that the two people who are hard to hear and hard to see are an elderly couple who are close to death seems to be the best match. I liked the scene of reminiscing about good moments the most..

The Cube represents society, it is chasing every individual who doesn't fit the standards of society. Here V is half blind, IU is deaf and mute. So they are running from oppression of society. The world is controled by these standards of perfection to the point that people in South Korea put masks on when they don't have make-up or when they feel unsecure or they wear hats when their hair is messy. The MV is a dystopian view of our society. While they are trying to hide in this abondonned place filled with the clothes of people who died because of this oppression, they find a camera that allows them to have an illusion of what their lives could be if they were "normal" by society's standards, it starts with their looks, they could see how they would have looked like, then what they would eat, then they start to feel the illusion a bit too much to the point they beautifully imagine that IU could sing and V could sing as well and she could listen to his voice, they could marry each other and just have fun and eat whatever they want because they wouldn't have to care about society or any other kind of oppression. However, as soon as they feel a little bit of confort and try to live their life, the Cube (society) finds them again and push them to retreat and flee again, but the Cube managed to find them again, they try to survive against it and try to fight it as hard as they can, but they cannot beat a stronger system, they just give up but at least they stayed together until the end. Even if they died at the end, they loved each other deeply, it shows that even if society is oppressive, people can love each other and they can find their soulmate even if they are not "normal or perfect" to the eyes of some many others. The pile of clothes is like from Spring Day, these people died because of injustice, but they deserved love, so the pile of clothes can look very gloomy and sad, but as in Spring Day MV if you don't forget them you can seem them happy and free where they are right now...

The concept I believe was the cube was hunting those with disabilities. Going deep, I believe the cube also represents the criticism and hate people send others. The Magic Camera allowing them to be normal. The world around them is a mess like today in reality, fight all you can to the end, her beautiful voice makes this so sad, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

My heart is so full! To be honest, I've been thinking about why I love watching you guys so much and now I know why. The thing is that nobody around me listens to Kpop, not a single person who sees the beauty of it, even if I share I have never been able to talk to people who see the beauty in IU/BTS/Seventeen. Even if I share with my friends and family, they only listen to be considerate. It is so hard to be able to communicate my thoughts on this with anyone. I absolutely love IU, I genuinely think she has changed my life ever since I discovered her. She has inspired me to be better during my slump, given me support when I felt alone and helpless living in a new country. I would always watch reaction videos to find people who lilked the same things as I did. But sadly, most of the reaction channels out there are only making reactions on Kpop to get the views and the subscribers, it is clear that they don't enjoy the music or the performances very much. But then I found you guys, people who were much bigger fans of the artists I loved. People who saw how beautiful their creations were and took the time to appreciate and point out all their effort, even the tinniest details. I want to thank you because your videos make me feel like I am able to talk about my feelings, share the love and join the positive and mature fandom.

In the beginning iu being deaf and v being blind in one eye and running away from the box means they’re trying to escape the box ( society expectations/ criticism/ hate) by turning a blind eye and not listening to the noise. With their love they’re trying to have courage and fight to live on but in the end they disappear with despair but with each other. Just the metaphors and other ppl opinions and representations make this cinematic mv a masterpiece.

Personal theory: The camcorder seems to show the characters in happy, healthy states. So my personal theory is that the camcorder represents the afterlife. After the cube destroyed IU and V for being different, their souls were trapped in the camcorder to relive happy memories of the wedding party.

Beautiful story, it was not a just a beautiful song. IU and V are imperfect people according to the world. But through another lens, they see each other as perfect. In the real world, they may not have much, but they love each other and commit to each other by getting married. But the world intrudes on them and gets rid of their love, because their love should not be. It gets rid of them. We see that the world has done that before to others love that was deemed not worthy. Their stories is like other love that has come before theirs, disintegrated because they were perceived as imperfect by the world. The real world is broken.
I hope you guys wanna chat more about this on tomorrow’s livestream! The ARMY in me immediately saw the pile of clothes and the way it was colored as undeniably reminiscent of Spring Day. And the themes aren’t so different between the two videos it seems, though this speaks much more to romantic love compared to BTS’ fraternal love. With Taehyung’s feature, maybe they’re saying the two forms of love really aren’t so different-and that as they’ve now moved on from their youth, it simply manifests in a different way.
V is the most in demand actor since hwarang, but he is rejecting all the offers to focus on music for now

Jieun and Taehyung acting was so expressive and amazing. In 5 min video we can get the plot and see the emotions potrayed so well it made me cry.
The composer of this song is the same composer with Start Up Ost - Day and night by Jung seunghwan which in my opinion is the most heartbreaking ost in my life. The moment I listen to the song instantly I need to know who wrote this. And IU as lyricist is just as poetic as it could be. This song and mv is just perfect.
