🦉📖 . . . It was a long day of backpacking, but you finally made it to your campsite: a tree-sheltered clearing set just back from an icy cold mountain river. Douglas fir trees tower over your head; beneath them, vine maples and huckleberry bushes glimmer brilliantly green in the setting sun. You set up your tent on a fragrant bed of pine needles with the last of the fading light, and now you're ready to relax. You head down to the river rocks to build a campfire. In the absence of human sound, you are acutely attuned to the noises of the forest around you transitioning into night: the quieting of certain birds and bugs, the rustling to life of others. The sound of the moving water, though, remains meditatively constant. Your campfire is perfect, and its crackling harmonizes with the splash and rush of the river. You feel small and safe beside this glowing speck of light in the peaceful darkness. . .

I love,love,love this video! The sound of the fire is perfect. Not too loud and not too bright. Yes, it is perfect! Your story is fabulous and I will be watching this later on this evening, when I go to bed. I love the trees that grow up North. I wish they grew here in Florida! I love tropical settings and plants, but the evergreens, maples, and birch type trees are ones I adore and miss. Thank you for this and see you at the campfire!

Boy, this brings back boyscout memories... but constructively... I can't see, and can barely hear the stream( if I try real hard). I'd move the fire to the other side to highlight the water next time. & more water sound, so i have to get up to pee a lot, lol. But this IS damn near perfect, THANK you for igniting that memory!

My family used to go camping. My dad had a thing for sitting out at night, by his fire. We would sit there for hours, little talking, just being. Memories that live in my heart and soothe my soul. Especially in these crazy times. Those memories are a bit more real now, having found this... and I thank you for that❣️👏🏻🎁🌌💖
Ha! This one actually is real Cheryl! I don't always do animated / illustration based videos. I used to only do relaxing nature videos that I took myself, and this was one of those older videos I took at a family cabin near where I live. I'm so happy to that it brought back those campfire memories for you with your dad. Those are very special :)

Flash back to a hiking trip I went on with my Boy Scout troop. We went to Uwharrie National Forest and we camped on Dutchman’s creek our last night on trail and I hammock camped with no tarp and no bug net. I had a pillow and a light blanket and nothing more. I remember being right next to the creek and hearing that water running along with the campfire in background going. Then I would look up and it was trees and a beautiful starry night and you could see it all. That’s what this video reminds me of, and happy place. Thank you

If you’re reading this.. imagine yourself up north in America. Northern California near eureka, where the rivers are clear and cold. The mountains are rocky. A little fire right on the river with a beautiful view of greens, browns, and a clear rocky river.

Just how brilliantly you capture the details. This is like Tele transportation to some deep forest, name not known, the night sky darker than the coal, coal that fights this darkness and burns away, lil by lil, to create light, for few hours. After that, it will be total darkness again. But you know what? Darkness is good. In dark, everything is dark. Light differentiates. Some red, some blue, some green... these crickets..atleast some compan..Oh do I hear a nearby stream? Hmm.. let me fill up my kettle, for some hot coffee later on at night, as winter seeps through my wooden cabin, and I emerse in writing my reflections.

"By the firelight." Wonderful. Hypnotic. Reminds me of a happy memory that happened quite a while ago, dark, cold night in a forest, eventually being introduced to a warm, crackling fire, being nearby a river a few steps away from where I was, interesting conversations, and eating something I had never even had before then. And liking it. I had a lot of fun that night, maybe even more so then I realized. Would have been very cold if he hadn't introduced me to a roaring fire, and a bunch of other guys just chatting away. I mean I was what you could consider "working" at the time, But that just = me sitting alone in a forest, waiting for the next group to come along, if there were anymore. I remember him saying he was going to "kidnap me," LOL!!!! Best kidnap, ever! Funny thing was, I don't think I even knew the guy. But we were all out there all doing the same job, really. It was a halloween thing, introducing kids to nature, and having them learn about natural stuff through dressing up, and telling stories. Setting that aside for right now, I would like to say that people aren't as kind as that anymore, it's a real shame. I don't really mean to "bring it down," as it were, but it's true.
