Wow! Good stuff as usual. What resonated with me was how michal responded to David and he shut her dwn so heavenly. No matter what anybody say i am gone worship and enjoy my lord. I am growing so much stronger and wiser in my walk. I find myself delighting in the lord striving to have that crazy david kind of faith and praise....... Thanks auntie kim❤
YES, love the way you put that, Dianna --> "shut her down so heavenly"....that he did! As we study the life of David, I am inspired to have that crazy kind of faith and praise as well. We serve the same God who delights to show Himself strong! Love studying with you, my niece
I love David's 100% dedication to God - nothing else matters. Give me that same love and freedom to not care what anyone else thinks! My Bible's text note on Uzzah's decision to reach out to save the Ark resonated with me - it says that "even though his intentions were good, he violated God's decree". That's so applicable to our world today. No matter how good someone's motives might be, if their actions/thoughts/words go against God, they are fruitless (and maybe even dangerous). I've heard the phrase "Well, he/she meant well" so many times. That may be, but let us all be willing to look UP only, and if we do what our Father would have us do, that's all that matters and we will never go wrong, no matter how we are judged or looked at by the world. Forgive me for the times I may have had "Michal-like thoughts" in my heart about someone loving God with reckless abandon and let me be more like David "before God" each day.
God doesn’t give direction just because so we must follow. We must look, and act different from others. Oh Michal my sister......I will be even more undignified for the Lord, when I worship and praise the Lord. So when folks are watching you Praise at church keep your eyes on above not below.
David again, what a response to Saul's daughter his wife, I love it!! I will dance, praise n worship God even if I seen humiliating... I grab the point, everything before the Lord. #LEADBRO
I was actually in found of a perfect channel through which I can do my study bible easily. But I didn't get it for few month's. And I prayed, just typed as "Samuel book explanation" and I got this "cling". After watching this I daily study my bible with you which i found is very interesting. I thank god. God bless you beloved. Your was of explanation is just amazing. Plz continue the series.
What a blessing it is to Cling to him! I truly enjoyed this lesson. No matter what people say or think about us we must do what pleases God. I love how David wanted the presents of The Lord around him. "I must have the Ark of the Covenant" David said and made sure. God bless you Kim XOXO
I love that David wanted God's presence as well....and went after it! That is truly something to ponder for our own lives. Blessings to you too, GeJoan!
I love your commentary on this. And I would like to get your perspective on what I got out of the Michal and David situation. Yes Michal loved David, and they had a deep relationship when they were young. When David had to flee from for his life Saul gave Michal to another. In 2 Samuel 13-15 Michal was taken from her husband/family to live with David. She was force to give up her life due to living in a patriarchal society. I believe in what you are saying, and I also believe she was upset to leave a husband who love her and wept because she had to leave over a husband who had multiple wives. I love reading David's story. He was a man of God through and through, but to take a wife away from another man show me two things. One, it foreshadowed his relationship with Bathsheba. Second it was greed. Again this is another perspective and would like your thoughts. Keep up the good work. I enjoy these studies. It shows me the things I have missed.
I LOVE, love, love this study! Someone has finally studied and brought about what I have been wondering about, why Michal acted the way she did toward her husband.... because he wasn't "kingly" enough. Thank you Sister Kim. I so enjoy your studies.
Wooow!! I just love how David responded 💪And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD. My relationship with God is my number one focus I know that if I take care of that .God will take care of everything alse....Glory to God thanks my sister ..God bless you always
Kim! I'm running out of the door for work, and I'm still listening. But I had to pause and say what struck me in 1 Chronicles 13 is how David consulted his leaders before bringing the ark in, but not God. He only said if it is good in God's eyes. "David conferred with each of his officers, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds. " Prior, he always consulted God first and God guided and rescued him always! I bet if he would have asked God, God would have reminded him of the right way to bring the ark in!! It makes me say to myself, "One talk with God can avert extraordinary pain!" Ok, Rushing to work! Forgive typos!! God bless and can't wait to hear the rest!!
Kim this was so awe inspiring to listen to and ponder upon this lesson and rejoice with what God does with the Humbleness of David the king and the different attitude of his First wife and her pride and indifference to God’s Word! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful message with us!
Thank you for an excellent study. I knew that the death of Uzzah was due to him touching the Ark which he should not have done. But I never put together that they should not have been carrying the Ark on the cart in the first place. Thank you.
I love this ! I am so happy I found this Bible studies ! You bought out things that I haven't found on this lesson. Thank you so much ! Please keep going.
You were always so precise I appreciate you being my teacher. Correction in the beginning they didn’t say let’s get that arc out of here. they said put the arc on the Animals and if they choose to walk towards the direction of Judah and then arc goes back and we wouldn’t stop it. But if the animals walk in any other direction we will take the ark and figure out what to do with it.
Amen sis Kim, once again your teaching has struck a chord with me...Reverence for the Lord! '...show reverence to my sanctuary, I am the LORD '. Lev 19:30. Amen and may the Lord continue to bless you and your family. Xx
Love the video, AND this entire series, but I have to say I’ve always felt for Michal personally. I don’t think her real problem was David’s attire. David was her first love. She went so far as to help him escape and stood against her father in doing so. I imagine that her hearing about him marrying Abigail and Ahinoam when he was supposedly “ on the run “ probably hurt her. But she managed to move on and remarry, only to be torn from another husband and given back to a man with numerous wives and concubines. Her resentment while being dishonorable to her king is kind of understandable. Modern-day women would probably react the same way. I imagine anything he did probably irritated her.
I have a question. When studying the bible, how do you find parallel scriptures in other books? If i was studying on my own, I wouldn't know to look in these other chapters. Any advice or suggestions
I always thought she was angry at David because he never came for her when Saul her father made her marry someone else considering what she did for him.
I think she knew David couldn't come for her, given that he was in hiding. But the text clearly tells us why she was angry, so we always go with what we're clearly told.
God revealed something else to me last night (12/11/17) about Michal. She believed in things like good luck charms (1 Samuel 19:13 - teraph). God is so awesome. I just adore Him.

That's such a great point about the "He/she meant well"....because yes, so did Uzzah. Yet, God had actually spoken, and very clearly, on the subject. Always comes back to knowing God's word, doesn't it? Amen to looking UP only! And ooh, the "Michal-like thoughts"....yes, Lord, keep us from that heart attitude and let us praise You like David!

Powerful
Who came here because they got a bible study over this tonight?
I love your studies could you use the king James please?
Thanks so much, Maureen. I use NASB because that's what I've studied from for almost 20 years.

Beautiful 💝🔥💝

You're right. For a long time I was factoring in that human emotion of why he didn't rescue her thereby she was salty about that.
